- If you noticed my newest shorts where I make Live Looping Covers and you were wondering how I do it, well, this is the place to be. Hope you like my breakdown on how to do this using Ableton Live.

Excellent tutorial. Very clear and thorough. I will give it a try! Thanks.
Thanks. Have fun :)
Instead of changing octaves on the controller during a performance, another option is to leave the pitch on the controller fixed and add Pitch Midi Effects before your instruments on each track. For example, you might drop the drums by 12 semitones, the bass by 24, and raise the lead instrument by 12 semitones. That way when you select a different instrument while performing, it will automatically switch so that the notes you play on the keyboard come out in the right range without touching anything other than the pad that selects the track.
That is a good tip!
Super tutor! Vielen Dank für Deine Arbeit! :)
Thank you too :)
Excellent video and a great idea. Wish I hadn’t sold my MK2 now!
Thanks. You can actually use any midi controller that you may have available.
Technically you can do one after the other with a single controller if you place midi notes in arrangement view that you mapped to the controls as you did. I made a tutorial on it ~7 years ago "How to live loop without a pedal". For the kind of performances you are doing I think it's less involved than using two controllers, though you do much look cooler than me doing it lol
Watched your video. Really nice! My way is more of a freestyle kind of looping :)
@@Marius_Tarceatu for sure, you seem more of a musician than me lol thanks for checking it out!
I also disliked the "arm" concept of the minilab - but I found the "auto arm selected track" option which is described by many youtubers here, maybe you could also like it? For me this is perfect! What I like about the minilab against all other controllers - I keep the encoders in device parameters mode, so I can tweak the sound of the track which is selected, and the faders have control over the volume - without any shift combination, this was a must for me. I can switch the tracks and even go to the main output track and change the volume there - so perfect setup for me for the use as an ultra compact live session controller ;)
I’ve tried it but when i recorded in a loop it seemed odd, can’t remember why now as it was 2-3 years ago. Maybe when going back to a track it would arm it again and record over, and i didn’t like that so i could’t do breaks in the songs for that little bit more spice 😁
I was almost ready to map the subscription 🤣🤣🤣 → I subscribed to your channel because you are so playful.
@@hitomisings thanks! Subscription mapping is always important 😅
I have both the Minilab 3 and the Mk2. And Ableton Live! Now all I have to do is watch your video on loop for about 6 months to fully understand how to do it. I am going to pester you with questions. Would you care to share any of the other hardware in your setup? I have a MiniFuse 2 as my interface. Nothing much else.
Interface doesn’t matter as long as you have a good small latency. It’s not that hard. First you should try to do it with 2 tracks only to get a feel for switching between them.
i laughed out loud at the subscribe mapping.
Gotta get to that 10k 😆
What studio monitors are those?
Those are the behringer truth b2031, the old version, without the a at the end. Bought them used, but they sound quite good.

Bro i wanted to know how to setup
To this point 😢
Where did you get the replacement orange knobs?
I got the mk2 that way. It was the orange edition.
hey, how to setup Artruria and Ableton to start recordcording right after start playing some melody on a piano keys? My DAW starts recording clips just after push record button(not piano key) :(
Don’t know dude. I am not using that.
ultimately you got the wrong controller, the novation launchkey mini is much better for live looping. the arturia is good enough to launch clips and play live but a bit finicky if you want to lay down every track live
Possibly. I should try the Novation :)
How can I loop in the FL studio
Don't know :D
Hi Marius, we just bought a ableton live 11, and dose not work properly. It's that possible to contact with you privately? Can you help us please? Thanks a lot!
Best regards Tomi
What doesn’t work properly?
I watched UA-cam videos and I copyed what they did and I prest the buttons and nothing happened.
The buttons on the minilab 3?
Yes
Check out if you are in the DAW mode of the minilab. If not, press shift+prog pad. And set yourself on the DAW.
I am from India, no buddy tell about this thanks 🙏
You are welcome 😀
