Microsoft just announced an updated Power BI Content Pack for Microsoft PPM, which allows organizations to get started quickly with dashboards and reports without requiring any customizations in Project Online. This content pack utilizes the latest visualizations and features available in Power BI and contains 13 pages supporting portfolio, resource, and project reporting:
Portfolio reporting - focuses on viewing key data across the entire portfolio of projects, including which projects are in the governance phases, by owner, department, project type, and key performance indicators. It also includes a portfolio timeline, roll up of costs, summary of key milestones, as well as risks and issues across the entire portfolio.
Resource reporting - focuses on understanding resource availability across the organization, including the ability to zoom in on specific departments and groups. It also allows resource managers to quickly drill down into the data to see which projects their staff is working on and what the detailed work is. Predictive analytics reporting shows forecasted demand based on historical information.
Project reporting - provides an automated project-level status report that summarizes key data on the project and highlights variances for cost, work, and the schedule. It summarizes all completed milestones and upcoming milestones, and provides links to the project schedule as well as the project site.
This content pack update will help you take your organization’s Project and Portfolio Management reporting to powerful new levels. It will support everyone in your organization, from highly visual executive dashboards, to resource utilization reporting for resource managers, down to detailed project reports for business sponsors and project managers.

Hi there, this is a wonderful dashboard. Am using it as a learning tool . After loading the template, all fields are empty with the following response "that the columns need to be refreshed or recalculated" how do I resolve this ?
Hi thank you for sharing, how can I get a copy of this template please with dataset?
Works like a champ, THANKS, it is a good start to what I am trying to dashboard. I need to show driver selections, and priority levels. I was trying to build this on my own, but cannot seem to find the fields needed that show what level of driver was chosen when the idea/ project was created in the pdp.
Thanks. Can i get the sample data without the Microsoft online projects? I mean excel tables files? Please advise.

Hello JayP. This is the Power BI Content Pack for Project Online, so you will not need the Default CDS Url. Please see this blog post for more: www.senseiprojectsolutions.com/2017/11/03/deploying-the-microsoft-power-bi-ppm-content-pack-for-non-english-instances/

Hello, thanks for the vid.
Do you know if there some datasheet/documentation about the data it collects? Mainly I would like to know from where the cost data is taken from my projects.
Hello Julio, all the data in this Power BI Content Pack comes from the Project Online database. The cost data is the data you enter into Microsoft Project for your budget, planned spend and actuals. To learn more about how this, check out our book here: www.senseiprojectsolutions.com/book/proactive-ppm-with-microsoft-project-2016-for-project-online-and-project-server/
Do you need a premium connection for Power Apps to be able to get the default cds url?
Excellent video content! Sorry for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (just google it)? It is a good exclusive guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my best friend Jordan after a lifetime of fighting got excellent success with it.
Hi can i use this power BI pack for on Premises Project server 2013
You should be able to use this Power BI Content Pack as a starting point, but will need to make a few tweaks where there are database differences between Project Online and Project Server 2013. You'll also need to use the Power BI Gateway, of course.
How we can add indicators in power BI.could you please share the sample dashboard.
Hello Khadar, this is the public Power BI Content Pack from Microsoft and it comes with the KPI's (traffic light indicators) you see in the video. The content pack can be downloaded from GitHub here: github.com/OfficeDev/Project-Power-BI-Content-Packs. If you are tailoring it for a non-English tenant, please also see this blog post: www.senseiprojectsolutions.com/2017/11/03/deploying-the-microsoft-power-bi-ppm-content-pack-for-non-english-instances/.
Is there a content pack like this for Project Server on-prem?
