I ordered and got delivered a Zimaboard with the 8GB. Sadly it shuts down all the time. Sometimes it runs for an hour, then it just stops. If I have it on a monitor, the screen just freezes. Happily they send a new one, but it has been in transit for a week.
@@Exotic69420 would you be interested in those N100 mini pcs? I have a couple running NAS and a test-platform server for a few months. Pretty good. Pretty fast, even has NVMe SSD slots + 1 SATA port. I also got an old ass DIY NAS on a pi 4 that's been running for over 4 years now, slow but steady.
I mean, of course the Zima Board has it's benefits (small form-factor, low power consumption) but buying an Office-PC (maybe used) is often cheaper, gives you more performance and more upgradability. That's why I'm quite happy with my used 100€ PC (i7-6700)
Bro.. please make video how we can create own cloud like owncloud or nextcloud. I have tried both but they didn’t work well from ios device while accessing over the internet. Hope you got what I mean to say. Thanks a lot brother ❤
I used a raspberry pi, mounted the external drive via fstab and now when I unplug the drive to do anything, pi goes into emergency mode and I literally can't get into the console. What's the best way to mount a drive? Just let casaOS automount each time and forget the fstab?
Isn’t a VPN at home kinda useless? You can’t really change your apparent ip location can you? It does make sense when you’re away and want to connect to home.
Well, it’s not entirely useless for the exact reason you gave. It does still encrypt your traffic between client and server, which can provide a bit more security when on untrusted networks. But you’re correct that you can’t change your IP location. You could set up another node using some thing self hosted like Linode to have an exit node that’s not on your home public IP though and switch between them.
That is the original intention of a VPN. To access the device's in your own network, via virtually be in your network. So you can access your Storage (NAS) or other network devices while on the go. The "hide-your-IP" aspect was later used.
still possible, but don't buy these. prepackaged shit stuff. all you need is a computer, a domain name, and a cloudflare account. I used cloudflare Argo to port forward stuff from my network
Wait that's the same as Apple too because Apple's iCloud 98% of their storage is on Google servers so it's the same thing and Apple just wants your money because they give you computers you can upgrade so even if they're still usable and all you need is new hard drive they make you buy a new one

@Hardware Haven As you are pumping out so video on the zimaboard. As in UA-cam space you send somthing to youtuber for some sales by showing their product to wider audience.. Heat? power issues
I don't understand why one would get a zimaboard over a Pi especially when the Pi is cheaper

ZTT? Don't think I've heard of them
Except when you are behind CGNAT. 😂

That's crazy, I need money first tbh.
I want to do this but i also want to add game streaming too
I want to make my own 1 or 2 TB Nas for my music folders and video rips from yt, as for anime I think that's fine on my hdd
already way ahead of this stopped using streaming services years ago whole family just runs from my home media server 🤪

Yea yea sure sure

Legally? Ripping blu rays or DVDs
