Wireless Handheld USB Trackball with Laser Pointer - Control Media Center, HTPC, XBMC, PLeX

- I needed to find a replacement wireless mouse for my Media Center in my Man Cave bedroom theater since the existing Gyration device I was using was eating batteries like crazy and also had horrible range. The replacement I found was this new wireless trackball which has much better range, is cheaper and easier to operate for someone not used to a Nintendo Wii style remote control. I have used this device for a few days and absolutely love it! The only down fall is the trackball itself will need to be cleaned every once in a while since it is a mechanical device but overall it's easier to operate with precision then the gyration and allows you to do things like drag and drop. I also picked one up for the Man Cave too so I can kick back in the racing simulator our on the couch and control the beast computer from across the room. Also another big perk of this device is the built in clickable mouse wheel that can be used to navigate webpages and was especially useful in PLeX media server which I use to encode my video sent to the Media Center TV from the Home Server.

Wow, thanks. I bought one of these a 4-5 years ago and put it to the side because it didn't fit my needs. Not only did your video answer my question of wtf is the USB dongle with absolutely no markings on it do, but also explained what that odd-ball USB/DC power cable I've had laying about.
This is a must have because having a full size keyboard and mouse is just a pain in the ass for HTPC's unless you throw it on the coffee table. In my Bedroom situation this is just all around much easier, I am trying to figure out how to map a key to bring up the onscreen keyboard so I can type with it too.
I take your word anyday bro if this man says its good then its good . You are my go to man for gadgets and other great cool stuff Jer.
Thanks for the review. Do you know if I carry it into my backpack will be on or off the device?
Great presentation loved the information given!
Finally an ergonomic mouse to sooth ailing shoulder joints of global IT savvy aging population.
Barna, thanks for the video; you covered everything.
I ordered this for work. I use it whenever i do not have a desk to work at. with a little practice you can actually type with the mouse in your hand (assuming your hands are large enough)
Thank you for making this video!!
Just ordered one, this will come in handy for sure.
care to share your experience using this. tq.
Just wondered if you are still using this device and how long does the charge last?
Looks like a pretty cool device.
Usage video please! I'd love to see that as well
video how you are using this device will be nice...
Yeah, that would be great. Especially showing it in a few common scenarios, like a few game genres, some office work, and some web browsing.
Yup
I used to have a wired one of these about 6 years ago, the USB wiring kind of defeats the purpose though haha. It was really nice and would be useful for a build if I could find it.
Can you do the mouse thing please and what do you use to render videos
Excellent review. Please demo mouse
Try out the RII mini RF remote ... its hands down the best. full key board, track pad.
usb charging and the unit goes into auto sleep after a couple minutes.
is this mouse comfortable for every day use? I love my trackball mouse but find it frustrating to use without a desk after about the 1st hour. I'm hoping this would be a good solution for me as I can spend the whole day playing.
Right now Adobe Premiere, but sometimes I'll use Sony Vegas 11 also. Just depends on what I'm doing.
my cat would love this
This mouse is amazing. I have one. There is one feature that you forgot to mention though. You may not even know about it. I had the mouse for over a year before I found it by accident. If you look on the bottom of the device directly below the trigger button, there is an indentation roughly the shape of the wireless USB plug. You can put the wireless USB there and it will stay. There is a magnet. It's quite handy for keeping track of an easy to lose piece.
Hunter Powell You troll like a child.
***** To you as well, fair sir.

Greetings. I got my air mouse in the mail today and I love it. I am using it for presentations. I connected my laptop to my tv ( to duplicate) and the mouse is out of sync as I point it to the tv to use. I have to look at the laptop to make sure the mouse is in the right place before I click on anything. Any suggestions?
really useful when watching netflix on my led screen connected to my laptop just laying on my bed
is it USB rechargeable or need to replace battery?
Which model is this i just got one and it has a battery . I want the rechargable
I was looking at this mouse on new egg and then I decided to look on YT to see if anyone did any reviews, and sure enough Nerdgasm did one. Cool beans...
Barnacules what is that round controller by your razer Tartarus chroma gaming keyboard?
have the same one just with out the lazer pointer
i ended up ading green stuff clay to the right clicks and the top buttons so i didnt have to take my thumb off the ball to click the button
Have you figured out how to open the device and clean the track ball? I have tried with no success and basically broke the thing in the process.

This works the same way as the wired models, and the main problems with these trac-ball items is the rubber wheels get dirty VERY easily, after a good deal of use the rubber will move on its own and cause trouble. Also after a period of time, the very lightweight metal springs inside will often dislodge or break and then that's all folks! Someone needs to address the weak internal spring issues or don't bother spending any money on these types of mice. I like them because I can sit anywhere away from my PC, but after going thru 4 of them I said enough is enough and switched to a standard wireless table mouse again.
I've gone through a few of these, and you are exactly right...love this mouse but they don't last, I've only gotten a few weeks out of a couple of them.
Cool device... I am going to build a HTPC in the next 6 months or so.
Cat toy AND wireless trackball - AWESOME! =D
I'll have to take your word for it, since you didn't demonstrate it at all. I could have read a review that told me this.
Are any of the buttons programmable ?
That is my question too! Windows 10 only let's you select your click button but doesn't allow for any assignments. 6 years ago you posed this question... No reply yet...
1:11 better this than a newegg box where someone like me will automatically perceive it as some random expensive tech to steal and flip, this packaging makes it look less worthy of risk
If i see newegg im taking that sht not like anyone buys the garbage stuff on there anyway
What kind of batery needs when you use it wireless??
Thanks helped a lot
Does it work with Linux Ubuntu operating systems? Newegg says no software required but I've received devices in the past that do not work with anything but Windows. Thanks
If you attached a gyroscope to this, it would make a good VR controller!
Hello friend, I have been looking for a trackball type mouse but do not know what I recomiendasm see you use the "natural laser wireless mouse 6000" I have it but I feel it is not as accurate to design, and certainly not sieno me so comfortable because no I find it necessary to work so emotional design. I bought the cintiq not touch and I realize that I need to have a mouse to move around on the surface of the screen ... what Trackball muse friend recommend me? I'm a designer and I require a lot of precision and above all .... a very big broad hand mouse to my friend ... greetings
thx for the video.. gave me a hint what I might buy for my boyfriend as a little present ;)
Lol I was just gonna ask you what keyboard that was lmao !! I have a 2012 Ducky Year of the Dragon limited edition , MX cherry Red keyboard .. And yours kinda looked like a Ducky also...
does this have a paintbrush feature? how can i access that
How would this be for 3dmodeling.
is the a power switch?
Nice bud. Thums up for you.
Please show actual usage video. Buttons programable ? Come with software or is it downloadable ? Is pointer accurate with trackball motion ?
What is maximum real world range ?
Cause any interference ?
Length of battery life vs charge time...
Does it play nice with htpc apps like plex, xbmc and Windows Media Player?
Can it be used for games like Star craft and the like..
I have one like this but mine doesn't recharge like that, it just uses a normal battery. Sometimes I've I found it very hard to open the circular lid to the ball casing so I can clean it, though it's fallen a couple times and just come right open, too, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't know if your buttons are specifically programmable but I didn't see a way to program mine. I wish I could, though. I miss my page back buttons. I was thankful to find that wheel-click was still a thing, though you have to push pretty hard.
Does it work with w Mac too?
Looks like it’s for presenting
jerry, you look like someone famous homie, like elvis!?!?
For about 6 months this was one of my favorite things I've ever bought. This week, it just started going to sleep every 10 seconds (literally, I timed it) for no apparent reason. If I don't push a button for 10 seconds, it goes down. I've tried replacing the AAA battery, using different USB ports, uninstall/reinstall, changing all the power save settings on my computer and devices. I'm out of ideas, can anyone help?
I'm sold. I just ordered one
The link to purchase needs to be updated.
Hey there!
Is it work for gaming?
maybe you can get an answer I got one and it unsynchronized when I was installing game controller but can't get answer on how to resume it
resynchronize it
do you think this could be suitable for playing War Thunder?
can you change the settings of the button? Customize which button is the left or right click?
just curious, were you thinking of making the trigger right mouse click for easy cam turning in WoW mate?..lol.. it's the reason I've always considered gettin' a trackball..
Link to purchase does not linger work :(
Thank you I am thinking of getting one for my laptop found one for cheap on eBay with out laser pointer. I am old and this new stuff scares me I can't afford to waist money. The one I am ordering is 19.00
I still don't understand why people are scared of new technologies. Nonetheless, it's a good mouse.
This is fairly old technology. Roller-ball mice used to be the norm (although this one has a kind of neat form factor)
Scared came from ordering a mouse shaped like a car with head lights real cute. Plugged the dongle in and the computer stopped working. I had to take it to a friend to fix it.
I wish they were safety scissors, these suckers could circumcise a bald eagle!
update on these? non AAA?
Hi, I'm left handed and I've set my regular mouse as well as my touch-pad accordingly, but now this mouse seems to use the main click as the menu button, I tried changing my touch-pad settings to the right handed one but it doesn't seem to work, any suggestions?
great thanks!
It would be nearly impossible :D
they say they stop working fast
was looking for something like this and almost 6yrs on they're still about the same price on ebay
They also still use a trackball (which was outdated even in 2013) instead of a touchpad
Cool
SAFETY SCISSORS
Could this work on console?
Bobby, I have the dasKeyboard model s. check out my video review on it. I love it!
It's much cheaper on Amazon, the K400 as well is much cheaper on Amazon.
Why don't anyone make a Bluetooth Trackball???
Awesome was barnacles this xxkillerblazexx cool videos
the logitech k400r is the best wireless media keyboard it types nice the battery lasts LITERLY forever (no joke i get six months to a year out of 2 aa batterys and i dont power it off at all
***** arent you using 10aH batteries?
no just the standard aa batterys you get at any store
currebtly using duracel quantom lithium batteries they might be 10ah i dunno
there just normal batteries you can get at wallgreens walley world or the family dollar :P
yeah there a bit pricy definitly not cheap but there just regular old batterys you can find at walley world
Damn, thumb for right-click. Unusable. :(
does not look ergonomic though, looks like you have to move your thumb a lot.
Built in battery.
would this be any good for gaming?
*facepalm*
If it were made with good quality hardware, then yeah. But since it's mechanical and cheap, nah.
Time for a hair cut :D
is there a 'right click'?
Is this compatible with android devices?
If you get the cable to convert to USB it would since it just would show as a HID mouse.
Sounds like real cheap plastic. I wonder how it performs for gaming.
how is playing fps on it????
Not sure if you could tell, but its not meant to be a gaming mouse lol.
WHAT No bat knife
Back then bat knife didn't exist
Lego Jackman
Yeah just being silly is all... :D

+Jonathan B the title says more than just a mouse 'Wireless Handheld USB Trackball with Laser Pointer' I just wanted to see it in action
It uses rollers..... fuck this bullshit.
This was absolutely useless, you could have summarised this entire video into less than a minute... Very uninformative.
