Love their adventurous nature and their honesty! They are such a fun bunch of people - makes you just want to hang out with them!! No wonder they've lasted so many years! They are just great human beings AND they can sing too!!!!!🥰
That was a fun way to approach trying it, doing it together. But poor Mitch, his adventurous nature got the best of him that time. Glad the taste faded with time. Looks like no Vegemite fans in this group. Kirstin found the best solution, following it with a TimTam. Those are delicious! Also loved Kevin's look when asked about the knife, he played that very well. Creative use of the glass too.
My first thought was:”I hope that was gluten-free bread”, but the germ thing is a good point too. Then again, they are singing together and flying in planes together. They probably have the same flu viruses already.
They are so polite! 😂 Poor Mitch… that was a lot and by itself 😬 It’s not for everyone… Ive tried it. I’m not a fan. (I did the same thing he did! 😂) It reminds me of concentrated bouillon. I’ve never heard the “thin layer on butter toast” thing before so I’m sure we dont even eat it correct even when not doing what Mitch and I did lol
Oh dear! They should've told you how it's supposed to be eaten BEFORE you tried it! Same thing happened to me when someone brought me some to try when they went there for vacay. I at least knew it was served on toast, but didn't know about the butter part or to only do it thinly. So I put it on plain toast & didn't spread it evenly. I didn't think it was horrible, but thought it way too salty & kinda weird. Later I found out about the butter & realised that would've made a big difference.
Seem to be hanging out a lot more lately. The last video where Kirstie tells Scott and Kevin about her engagement, she said Mitch and Matt already knew because they came out to meet them that night. Mitch going to the basketball games with Matt, and that fan running into both of them getting off the elevator and then singing with them. I like to see them bonding.
@@PtxXtp it's so sweet. It honestly seems like Matt has built such close separate bonds with each of the members. I knew about the others but seen matt and mitch so close this last year made me happy! Seems like Matt is a very easy person to be friends with!
I have an Australian friend who says the only thing she can stomach when she is sick is vegemite on toast. She said the trick is to spread it on buttered toast very thinly and then it is really good. I have never tried it but I'll bet I would like it. You guys mentioned both a vinegar & olive taste - and I love both of those things, so I would love to try it! So y'all can just bring me some to the VIP in Charlotte & you can watch me try it! Lolol! I love this video Courtney! From the "Psycho" moment with Kevin to the close-up of Mitch trying vegemite! And if Kirstin reads this, girl, if y'all haven't bonded for life by now, no vegemite taste test is gonna make a difference! HaHa!!! I love you all sooooo much & can't wait to see you in Charlotte! My pentaholic friend in London is coming again this year!! She was with me at the Christmas show in Greensboro last Christmas & she is traveling all the way to NC AGAIN!!! (She just wants to see my Pentaholic tattoo again! Yeah, that's it! HaHa!) Love yas!
Lol 😆 mitch just eats a butter knife full of vegimite i could not do that I would cry 😭 kirstin I have to agree with a Timtam sounds good I love ptx thanks Courtney
Without fail, the "It's not Nutella" test is a bomb. 🤣 Honestly, the only way to try Vegemite for the first time is to get an Australian to make it for you. It's very, very salty. (Great for cooking with as a result, and a Cheesymite scroll from Baker's Delight is fabulous.)
Americans like the chocolate-coated Australian biscuit Tim Tams. Americans are supposed to have chocolate which has something in it that is close to what gives vomit its smell. Apparently for some reason it was in the chocolate bars that were issued to American GIs during WW2. Even vomit tasting chocolate bars was such a positive experience for them that their demand for that same chocolate after they got back home meant it became a perennial thing in American life.
I had Australian neighbours and they bought me a jar. I couldn’t eat the cracker we put it on and they were thrilled when I gave them the jar back! Yuk! 😂
You all did it wrong! Let me tell you how it is eaten by Aussies. 1. You need simple white bread 2. Toast it until light brown & crunchy 3. You need real butter, no margarine or halvarine. Just real butter. slather that on the toast 4. just take a little bit of vegemite, just 1/3 nailsize and smear it on the butteried toast. It is just fine if it is hardly visible. 5. Taste it. What you have to taste is a finely salted/peppered toast with a hint of sausagetaste.
They make Vegemite from the dregs left over when beer is made, and you can actually smell it. I came to Australia at the age of five and I think that was too late to get the taste for Vegemite. Unless you're a wee little kid with it smeared all over your face, like Australian born kids do experience it, it's never going to be something you really like. And you will never like beer as much as Australians when they start drinking it later in life.
Kirsten bites into it and a vein popped out on her forhead! I bought it in the 80's after the line in the song, do you come from the land of down under? I hated it. Goodness No!
Why do Americans always do Vegemite so wrong 😂. Hot toast, lots of butter, wafer thin spread of vegemite. If you're a Vegemite rookie that's the ONLY way to do it.
OMG! I’m watching you all and wondering WHERE IS THE RESEARCH- WHERE IS THE GUIDANCE!? Totally the wrong way to eat it. Yes- large amounts of butter is necessary- preferably hot toast & a slight scraping of vegemite. No- do not eat it on its own from a spoon- and not straight on some weird breadstick cracker thing …. 🙄
It’s not for everyone- I grew up on it so I love it. The big mistake people make is spreading it like peanut butter or jam. My advice- hot toast with lots of butter and very light smears of vegemite over it. I also love avocado on top, a little cracked pepper & a few toasted mixed seeds (pumpkin/sunflower. Sesame etc).

No. NO. NOOO Mitch, not like that 🤢, a thin smear on buttered toast or fresh bread. Vegemite & peanut butter together is good too.
My husband's Mother came from Australia...her friends would send her the foods she missed, like Vegemite. Just not for me. ;p

If vegemite is the same as marmite you only have the tiniest scrape on buttered toast or cheese on toast 😋
Vegemite and Marmite are very different flavours but both are eaten the same way.
I like to think that stuff is like mayo. You either love it or hate it.
