I recently switched to Yamaha Drums and Hardware from DW. I was a little skeptical about how sturdy this stand was based on the minimal reviews I have seen. The stand legs seemed very unstable from videos I watched. Couldn't find a music store who had one in stock. I ended up buying it and so far, it is a nice piece of equipment. Overpriced, but it is a nice stand. Also, I am not a fan of direct drives, but this feels good. I would say it is comparable to a DW 2-leg. I hope Yamaha makes a 3-leg version for the people who don't use a double pedal and a chain drive (Pass this on to Yamaha). Drum key heel plates...DW---lol----yeah.... kind of a hassle when traveling.
I’ve been playing a 1200d for many years and have just got a HHS9D! It’s a bit heavier but not too much but so much easier to use and smoother to play. Like you I am a bit OCD and wanted to match my FP9D double pedal! All really great and the best pedals I have ever played and I started over 60 years ago so have played a few different pedals in my time! 🤘😎🥁🔥👍 PS Like you’re shout out to Jim - hope he is fully recovered from his leg injury. 😁👍
Was the “other” brand of hardware you were using DW? I’m curious as I’m in the market for a full set of new hardware (pedals, hihat stands, cymbal stands), and narrowed it down between DW and Yamaha. I wanted to see how your experience was between the two. Thank you
"I got problems maaan!" 😆😆😆

When you put the base plate up does it stay in place or do your need to hold it with you hand so it won't fall down?
It stays in place. Thanks for watching!
ii am curious.....is the action as light with this stand as on non direct pull type hihats stands?
Yes. It’s very smooth and light. Thank for watching!
