In this lesson we learn Blue Devils original flam exercise. This exercise started back in the 1980's and is still used by drumlines and drummers this day. in 2023 The Blue Devils have brought back Float Flams and Robbie Bucks to the LOT warmup show.

I think the version with the flam tap turn around you mentioned is Thom Hannum's Flams.

I like the version at 4:03 Is the turnaround a right flamtap, left Swiss army triplet, left flam accent? Took me a little bit to get this to flow. Pretty cool!

@freestylerudiments, could you do an add on video with the additional rudiments to this exercise? I believe BD did several in the same set or at least i believe they did back in 92 when they visited the netherlands.

This is the old school Float version "chugs" or "Chuguda" It was the on field warm up 82-93 played with flam taps, sextuplets, swiss triplets (with a back stick on the kick), then rolls into the ending tag commonly known as the darls-bar. It was usually pretty reefed tempo wise.
