    When I bought my 200,000 mile M3, I had no history if a rod bearing service was done and neither did the previous owner. Anyone who has done their research on the S54 engine and E46 M3 chassis knows that rod bearings is one of the "Big 3" maintenance items to look for. They recommend every 60K - 100K miles.
