really thought they'd serve dinuguan, its pork blood stew which i know sounds weird, it tastes really good! i very rarely eat foods like that but dinuguan is one of the best filipino dishes ever
I think it would've made sense in a game like this. I've shown this dish to people who aren't filipino and they go through a range of emotions, they look at it and it's a bit weird, then eat it and like it, then find out it's stewed pig's blood and then freak out again 😂
I love how filipino culture is so similar to mexican culture. Champurrado in mexico is like a sweet hot cocoa made with corn starch, and in the center of mexico people drink soda from a bag just like that.
We’ve been under Mexican Influence for 200 years. As the first wave of the Spanish invasion the people who mostly governs our ancestors were Mexicans. It was also the Mexicans that influenced Filipinos at that time to revolt against the Spaniards. So yeah. 😊
@@jayvienmocallay1377 300+ years that we were under the Spanish regime. The first 200 years as what ive said mostly of the gobernador heneral around that time was mexicans. From the Latin Americas

22:55 was such an iconic moment. For we have revealed the second chosen one for failing Garrett’s attempts!! Chanse and Shayne will rise and conquer the fight of sourness.
That is by far the most successful first tasting of a balut a foreigner has ever done and that beer is the cherry topping of the experience. I’m incredibly impressed and shocked with her reaction.
OH IM SO EXCITED 🇵🇭🇵🇭☺️ as a fellow filipino-american it’s so heartwarming to see someone in media really appreciating our culture!! 🤭 LOVE YOU KIMMY + SELINA
Watching the moment in which Angela slaps the soda bag in x 0.25 it's just magic. You have: - Garett laughing - Every-single-one's reaction - Angela trying to still slurp it after it's clearly broken It's priceless
So we’ve got Damien with the umami flavors and willingness to try pretty much anything, Shayne with grave mouth, and now Chanse being immune to spice AND sour?? What a trio!
I was wondering why I felt super weird and vulnerable whenever Angela talks, but I just now realized that she sounds EXACTLY like my therapist and I love her that much more now
I'm happy you did Champurrado. My mom puts a scoop of peanut butter when cooking it which makes it taste like a Reeses peanut butter cup and served it with bacon for that salty flavor instead of tuyo or dilis. The peanut butter thickens the champurrado so if you like it more soupy instead of dry, then just add a little more water.
I like that when they do episodes like this, they are respectful to the culture that they are representing with their food! Its so easy for us to view other cultures food as gross or weird but they don't frame it that way and i love that about smosh!
Filipino here. I was surprised at fried lumpia turon with ground meat, too! It's an uncommon variation of the dish. I can relate to Olivia's reaction. I would have the same reaction, as well.
What people don't realize is that Balut is not even every Filipino's go to snack. In fact, A LOT of us pinoys (including me) don't like the idea of eating an almost formed duckling. Jackie was such a G for this.
As a filipino Im not proud to say that I only eat the yellow part, and if the white parts are soft enough I also eat that too... It tastes great!! I just dont like the texture of the duck
she's the only non-Filipina I've seen who doesn't scream while eating the Balut 😅 and why adobo is so cold? hahahaha anyways, Love it❤️, Good job guys!!!
i really want more of these videos where the cultural members of smosh put twists on their foods, this was not only funny asf and interesting but also educational
Shit you just makes me laugh so hard at the middle of the night. It was usually eaten at dark places, no superstition involved just so anyone can eat it comfortably.
Kimmy is so nice that even when trying to mess up the food by combining savory and sweet she ends up making a fusion of an arguably better dish overall. This could've been an extra inside joke in her funeral roast if this video aired first. Keep smiling Kimmy!
The moment I saw balut my mouth instantly watered, so the white part on the bottom is edible just a weird texture (it’s hard/chewy, and flavorless) but the main part is the fetus (add vinegar for that extra flavor)❤❤❤ Love you Kimmy!!!
Nah i dont know why but I fricken love Angela so much. Her energy is just so contagious, she’s super funny, and her random high pitched screams are hilarious
I appreciate how genuine their reactions are, and almost on-point with their food descriptions. And oh! the effort they out to make authentic Filipino food. I wish they serve the food as fresh as possible to show how appetizing the chicken adobo and champorado are. Overall, your ep is amazing for showcasing Filipino food.
Angela's chaotic nature is exactly what this show needs. Also, surely do an episode where Garrett just tries to defeat Shayne and Chanse's grave mouth.
As a Filipino, my bar is so low for people’s reaction to balut so it’s so awesome that Jackie just went in like that and enjoyed it too!
To be honest, if it was common to eat blindfolded I doubt many people would react poorly to balut, it's just that it LOOKS horrifying.

She can't eat bugs but she'll eat balut 😭
@whatinthegoddamn2353 I'd eat both but since I'm Filipino, I'd prefer balut.
@@whatinthegoddamn2353 absolutely backwards but
@@whatinthegoddamn2353 Bugs? lol. Balut is literally just boiled duck egg best dipped in chili vinegar and salt. No way I'm eating bug dish
Kimmy: **Tries to make bad food**
Kimmy's soul: "I think the fuck not" **food still tastes good**
If you make Filipino food taste bad you get disowned for real
meanwhile
filipinos watching: 🙂😑🙂🙃😑
I just love how Kimmy was super kind and cute throughout the whole episode, while Garrett tried his best to stop himself from running to the kitchen and cooking something gross.
Damien looked extra happy today, it was very enjoyable to see him enjoy his dish and be happy for the others
That’s what Halo-halo does
Between everyone's excitement, Damien's love of Ube, Angela's chaos energy, Adobo But Cold, The Gravemouth sequel, and Jackie totally bossing it with the Balut, this episode was amazing 👏🏾💚
Loved the barongs on Kimmy and Garrett along with Selina all chefin' it good on the kitchen cam 😁
So happy to see Smosh enjoy the food of our Culture 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
She ate the balut so well which normally scares other people who are not used to having it haha good job!
Im Pinoy and I can't eat it😭
@@johnariscorpuz3335 same 😭
I really respect her even her explanation
Lol i'd never gotten chance to try it, it never really got my attention, mostly curiosity but most of the time I never really follow thru with em.
@@johnariscorpuz3335 I would often run away once I know someone wants to feed me that thing 😵😵
Angela is so sweet in such a chaotic way, I love it!
Kimmy and Selena are officially the wholesome center of the Smosh cooking world.
really thought they'd serve dinuguan, its pork blood stew which i know sounds weird, it tastes really good! i very rarely eat foods like that but dinuguan is one of the best filipino dishes ever
It goes best with rice. Kind of like adobo bit with blood as the sauce.
now im craving adobo and dinuguan 😭
I LOVE DINUGUAN 🗣️🗣️🗣️
@@skoigetti same
I think it would've made sense in a game like this.
Coz we’re Spanish influenced so yeah a lot of similarities
@@ZaZa-os7hf *Mexican-influenced too
We’ve been under Mexican Influence for 200 years. As the first wave of the Spanish invasion the people who mostly governs our ancestors were Mexicans. It was also the Mexicans that influenced Filipinos at that time to revolt against the Spaniards. So yeah. 😊
@@sesanokamura7311 not mexicans, just spaniards LMAO.
@@jayvienmocallay1377 300+ years that we were under the Spanish regime. The first 200 years as what ive said mostly of the gobernador heneral around that time was mexicans. From the Latin Americas
I was a bit confused when I heard Champorado because I’m Mexican and we have something also called champurrado (just spelled differently) I think it’s honestly the same thing so it’s really interesting to see just how interconnected cultures can be :)
seeing both Garrett and Kimmy in Barong Tagalog feels bizarre LMAO
like there's a Filipino Garrett in another universe poisoning everyone with filipino food 💀💀💀
lmao, there's a Garrett variant for every countries
not Nino Garrett. ..
The moment i saw garret im a Barong he makes me laugh so hard cause i already imagine garret altering every filipino dish 😂
Nah, see Filipino Garrett would be unpoisoning things, for he is reverse Garrett, or Tterrag as he is called..
I love how when Angela slapped the soda, everyone got so chaotic.
Well, it did start dripping sticky cola everywhere..
This better be the most replayed moment.
Chanse and Angela are such great additions to the cast
Absolutely! Now that they’re more comfortable and we’re really seeing them shine, they’re gonna have a bright future with Smosh
Kimmy accidentally making something delicious is very on brand 😂😂
When you try to make a sh*t recipe but it ended up working better than it should be 😂
I kinda want a Behind the Scenes of the cooking process in this ep. Filipino cuisine on the spotlight and I want more ❤
I wish we had one for every episode! It would be such a nice addition to the series
Shoutout to Kimmy and Selina for showing and introducing our food/culture to the squad!
And man, Garrett and Kimmy in barong tagalog 👌🏼👌🏼 Thank you for doing this ❤💙💛
22:55 was such an iconic moment. For we have revealed the second chosen one for failing Garrett’s attempts!! Chanse and Shayne will rise and conquer the fight of sourness.
16:43 Just want to mention that this was one of Courtney's best card throws in Eat it or Yeet it history
WE NEED a grave mouth challenge with Chanse and Shayne
YES
It's so cool seeing our food being eaten here. 🥺
That is by far the most successful first tasting of a balut a foreigner has ever done and that beer is the cherry topping of the experience. I’m incredibly impressed and shocked with her reaction.
Jackie you're eating balut like a pro. Great job! I wasn't expecting that.
I think it’s really sweet that Olivia looks so excited to be appreciating the food Kimmy and Selena cooked
OH IM SO EXCITED 🇵🇭🇵🇭☺️ as a fellow filipino-american it’s so heartwarming to see someone in media really appreciating our culture!! 🤭 LOVE YOU KIMMY + SELINA
Fellowpino
Watching the moment in which Angela slaps the soda bag in x 0.25 it's just magic. You have:
- Garett laughing
- Every-single-one's reaction
- Angela trying to still slurp it after it's clearly broken
It's priceless
The audio becomes hellish but yes it is funny
18:40
It was definitely crazy
Olivia doing a bombastic side eye with that banana wrapped with pork 😭😂
So we’ve got Damien with the umami flavors and willingness to try pretty much anything, Shayne with grave mouth, and now Chanse being immune to spice AND sour?? What a trio!
Damien eating all of a giant dessert while everyone stares at him is mood
I was wondering why I felt super weird and vulnerable whenever Angela talks, but I just now realized that she sounds EXACTLY like my therapist and I love her that much more now
I hope they will do a part 2 of this with the other cast and trying Filipino breakfast or snacks/dessert ❤
Oh wow! I haven't tried adding peanut butter to champorado, but it makes perfect sense. That's genius.
OMG my mom does this too! It tastes like Chocnut lol
Ooo I'm gonna have to try this, thank you! I love champurrado and love peanut butter
As a proud Filipino, I'm happy that you're shining light on our dope culture.
As a Filipino myself, I got so much memories back
I like that when they do episodes like this, they are respectful to the culture that they are representing with their food! Its so easy for us to view other cultures food as gross or weird but they don't frame it that way and i love that about smosh!
i guess it's Kimmy Jimenez week!
Time for her to host Beopardy on Thursday👀
Every week should be Kimmy week
yayyy
Smosh entering their Pinoy Era
Yeah I heard she’s leaving
Filipino here. I was surprised at fried lumpia turon with ground meat, too! It's an uncommon variation of the dish. I can relate to Olivia's reaction. I would have the same reaction, as well.
"My people eat some fascinating things so, I was open" a Jackie Uweh line for the books. Loved this episode, pure chaotic happiness
This really made me happy seeing y’all enjoy Filipino food 🥹
Chanse and Angela together in a scene is absolutely a treat!
23:38 "No way!"
"The prophecies are true!"
"You're the second one..."
Damiens reaction was hilarious, Shane isn't the only Anti-Sour mouth!
I never liked the idea of eating da smol duck. The yellow and white (if soft) part are tasty though.
Yeah I'm a filipino and I dont like it
I'm happy you like Filipino food! Enjoyed watching this video! ❤
she's the only non-Filipina I've seen who doesn't scream while eating the Balut 😅
and why adobo is so cold? hahahaha
anyways, Love it❤️, Good job guys!!!
I think the coldness of adobo and the day old champorado is part of the segment.
I love the cold Adobo also hahahhaha
@@lilibethrapal9005 me too, top it on a hot rice
"Commonly served with a San Miguel beer." Kimmy knows!!! I laughed when I saw it came out as "the salmon and a beer".
As a filipino, this is very much an awaited video. Thanks for sharing the amazing filipino food. ❤
I’ve actually always wanted to try Filipino food because I love Asian cuisine. All those foods looked delicious omg!!
i really want more of these videos where the cultural members of smosh put twists on their foods, this was not only funny asf and interesting but also educational
“Filipino foods gives you determination”
Yes, I’m a Filipino and I’m very proud of it. This made my day
that balut actually looks so tamed than the ones i had, where the baby duck looks like its peering right through your soul 0_0
Shit you just makes me laugh so hard at the middle of the night. It was usually eaten at dark places, no superstition involved just so anyone can eat it comfortably.
Its called penoy not yet a balut its in earlier days so you dont see the chicks yet
the one i ate is like Pokemon already🤣
@@eksdeetheemoji Penoy is still an egg with yolk and whites, just unfertilised.
Yeah that's a balut, I think the one they had is the tamed version one, called a pinoy
Kimmy's ANGELAAA scream is forever engrained in my head and needs to be on all remixes
Angela's energy is unmatched! She's just amazing! Love to see her in more shows!
Shayne might lose his Loudest Cast Member spot, Angela made Chanse lean away a couple of times lol
Kimmy is so nice that even when trying to mess up the food by combining savory and sweet she ends up making a fusion of an arguably better dish overall. This could've been an extra inside joke in her funeral roast if this video aired first. Keep smiling Kimmy!
Been a silent filipino fan since 2016, I didn't expect this one coming mah heart is so happy
Also, surely do an episode where Garrett just tries to defeat Shayne and Chanse's grave mouth.
as a new to this channel, i find it very amusing and entertaining especially the hosts and the other people in the vid
