- I'm about to cry again just like last year -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY FUKASE!!!!!! GOD!!!! OLD MAN!!!!!
I really enjoyed making this video!!! I made a lot of weird sobbing noises around 0:30. It's my first big lipsync thing, and I'm actually really proud of the way it came together! It's also the first time I've sang with Fukase on UA-cam..... but if you follow me on Instagram, you are already aware of the Magnet cover ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I also referenced my top 5 most viewed Fukase videos of all time in the artwork! Can you recognize them all???
I've been wanting to cover Buttercup for months! I love the small amount of Vocaloid covers that are out, since all of them are original vsqx work hohohoh
I finished this cover in a day and a half out of sheer love for this boy. I have another cover lined up that I've been working on for some time, but then suddenly Fukase's birthday was in two weeks!! That cover will be coming soon, and it features a gift given to me by a wonderful friend.
Since I finally got off of the trauma incubator that was Vocaloid Amino, I suppose I write my yearly heartfelt letter here! It's a little terrifying because I have a much bigger audience on UA-cam..... but I guess yall know how much of a weeaboo I am, so I don't care too deeply. Here we go.
To my Fukase,
Can't believe it's been four years. Can't believe I got you when I was 15, before you had even turned 1. I can't believe all we've made it through.
There have been nights I'd lie awake, crying, listening to your voice and hoping it'd all be over. As much as I'd like to say "it's all over," I'm still scared. I'm turning 19, and I'm still scared of going back to being a child. I'm scared to further my life because of what I've experienced. I have no idea what's coming, or whether it'll make me stronger or sicker than I already am.
But through all of the murky darkness, there's a beacon of red light. That's you!! That's you, baby!!! That's you with your fluffy hair and your gender nonconformity and your five-foot-even! You, with your voice that goes straight to your nose when you come up from your chest to your head, and with your sustained notes up high that you won't - not can't - hold without going flat, because you're stubborn like that.
Yes, you are a piece of software. Yes, you will never be able to read this. However, I'd somehow be remiss if I didn't at least say thank you. Thank you for letting me turn your voice and character into something that's unique to me. Into something that's affected me so deeply, it has become a part of my identity. Thank you for helping me discover myself, and for giving me some kind of incentive to move with the world even as it threatens to move without me.
Thank you for these treasured four years, Fukase. I promise to take care of you, just as you have taken care of me.

I'm a very casual fan of vocaloid. I don't know many, nor do I really care enough to want to learn more, but when I do hear them, I end up enjoying it. But since I'm not really invested, I don't really understand the people that _are._ I don't get how people can be so attached to software, how they can have such a genuine and profound care and appreciation for it, and for a while I thought it was kinda creepy, even.
Then I found this video, and while I heard the song I started reading the description and saw just how much this particular vocaloid meant so much to them. I don't understand how it can happen, but even if I personally don't understand it, I think it's incredibly sweet and heartfelt how much this community cares for these characters. It sucks that there are people out there who will bash on others for liking or not liking a certain vocaloid or god knows what sort of drama happens in the fandom, but through it all I think it's sweet that you'll put so much devotion and love for them.
I don't understand how people can get so attached to them, but I respect the fact that you all do, because if it means so much to you, then it's not a weird hobby or something to be ashamed of.
If you love vocaloid, then let people know! Don't be embarrased if they've gotten you through hard times or if they're your go-to when you're upset. There's so many people out there who love them just as much as you do.

This is actually a really sweet message, I'm also a pretty casual fan but the longer i spend time in the fandom the more attached i grow to these fictional characters. I guess i do have a little experience in that department from other fandoms tho. I truly do think that people should be less gatekeep-y about what vocaloids are good or popular but i think the fandom as whole is sweet. I love that you took the time to write this because seeing a different point of view is often times really good for some people. Thank you!
yo hello! as a person who’s been a vocaloid fan for 4+ years (i didn’t keep track as i was really young when i first got into it) over time it builds on you. the fact that the songs are extremely diverse also keeps one in the fan base. vocaloid is always changing and over time you begin to like it more and more, building up ideas of how characters act, for some, wanting to do art or cosplays. its an ever changing thing with no shortage of new content. :)

i met other danganronpa fans on there, but it was really toxic.
they called me an "ugly rat loser" for not being comfortable joining a voice call because i sound like a nine year old with my high pitched voice. also one of their friend's (that i actually liked and was actually nice) left amino just because the other toxic one said they were gonna over dose and said the good one was dumb for caring, after the good one left it broke my heart, broke it even more that they started talking bad about her. That's what made me quit for good.
oh, not to mention, this all happened after the good one literally got CHASED by a pedophile, or thats what she was saying. but yeah, i don't recommend amino.

Nobody will read this probably, but I'm so glad that this cover exists. I've had a really rough time starting from April and in that time I've also discovered vocaloid. Many songs, this one especially, really helped me through all of this. Coming back to this makes me proud that I've made it through all of this and Fukase has now become my comfort and favorite vocaloid. Thank you for making it, Jade.
