      Enjoy your stay! 😂😂😂 There is a possibility of that but the pump casing is so corroded inside. It's time for new pumps even if they are getting rid of everything next year. You definitely should not be going through so many seals on those pumps so quickly?? Does this hotel monitor their water quality in the loop system? I’m betting the water is probably really corrosive or acidic and that’s what’s causing your seals to rot out or fail have them check the water quality or the water, those types of systems need water treatment

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  17 днів тому +3

      Facts. The pump casings look terrible and are eaten up from no water treatment. This installation goes back to 2011. I agree with your comment. Water quality is so bad that the pump specialist knows exactly where which pump comes from due to the poor water quality lol Thanks for watching! 🔧⚡️

    By the way Jumper man, notice the hand-drawn arrows on the heat exchanger box at 25:29. What is up with that? They don't correpsond to the diagram you showed at 12:11, so I'm wondering if someone has done some sort of... I dunno but some cludge bypass hack? Could perhaps explain the pump direction? I mean it makes no sense at all...

    • @GackFinder
      @GackFinder 17 днів тому +1

      Or perhaps the diagrammed heat exchanger is another style of heat exchanger? What if the exchanger with the arrows is another model where the input and output isn't on the same side as in the diagram, but rather the opposite side? So straight instead of 180 degree turn?

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  17 днів тому +1

      I noticed that. They drew that not knowing how the heat exchanger actually works. Must be the same guy who wrote "easy work" on the pipe elbow 😂

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  17 днів тому +2

      It's actually the same type of heat exchanger and they just didn't know what they were doing. Hence the condition of this boiler room 😂

      Bell & Gossett is a great manufacturer but the rebuilds are done by other small pump specialist and I doubt they use OEM seal kits. No water treatment also plays a role for sure but I hear you with that! Thanks for watching 🔧⚡️

    • @GackFinder
      @GackFinder 17 днів тому +2

      @@JumpermanTech Out of curiosity, what kind of water treatment would you propose for this type of installation? I don't know much about the water quality in the US as I live on the other side of the planet, but when I was in NY some 10 years ago I noticed how heavily chlorinated the tap water was. Chlorine and steel pipes don't go well together, I hear.

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  17 днів тому +4

      @GackFinder Honestly, I dont do any type of water treatment as usually they have seperate water companies but they need something to prevent corrosion by keeping the PH levels balanced so the pipes don't deteriorate internally like in this location. It is not only the boilers but the large air handlers here as well that use hot water and chilled water from the absorption chiller/heater. Some sort of "corrosion inhibitor" for the boiler loops should do but I'm not 100% on that. I would do more research on it if they asked me to help but it's not my area of expertise. Definitely a lot of hack jobs and no maintenance/treatment and that adds up over time. Hello to the other side of the world!

    The people Castellano Motors are a shit show now. Damn shame what the charge for inferior work. They are basically painting it before fixing it.
    No wonder every building needs an engineer. The only problem is that everyone takes the test. Passes but has never been in the field and don't know shit. They get caught up in the title.
    I go to buildings all the time and engineers act like im the dumb one.

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  17 днів тому +2

      Castellanos rebuilt the seal on the last one and the sealed failed in 2 months. I thought they were expensive but their prices seem fair now because this time, I brought it to the engineers pump specialist as he vouched he would get it in faster and for a better price. As far as timing, it was basically the same but he charged a LOT more than Castellanos actually. Almost double the price! Said one price then changed the price when the job was done for a higher one and it leaked on the 1st day of installation! Crazy. When saving money goes wrong. Most engineers don't know much and I hear you with the clueless statement. I've felt the same before. I am also a licensed operating engineer but I actually have field experience to back it up. Never got a job with that though as I want to be out in the field and not stuck in a building watching movies. Still studying every week and trying to better myself.
