i’m 15 learning how to animate and my parents are against me going into animation/art, but i at least want to learn as a hobby so these ytb tutorial are lifesavers
Yeah in the end they dont know what you will do for a living whem you ll get older, and for now u dont have any expense so keep doing what you have to do for school and learn animation
I was in the same spot, and ended up going into a lot of different academic paths just to finish where i initially wanted, into illustration. So, if you want my suggestion, as I was in the same spot with my parents, insist, do your research and find a precise niche where you want to specialize, and again insist with your parents, show them how passionate, critical and informed you are about this career. You don't even know yet how painful doing a job you don't want can be. Save yourself time, energy and fun!
A lot of my animation teachers have me doing gesture drawings this both brought back memories of class and got me excited for next quarter. I see you are another example of how professionals do this in their processes. Thanks for making this!
Steve Ahn was scary good at drawing for these kind of action cartoon. Invincible art style reminded me of the days of stuff like X-men Evolution or Men in Black cartoon era.
Awesome, I love how you explain how to think about and visualize the body! The reason behind what you're saying is clear and gives a much needed perspective shift on drawing for me, thanks for this video!
When I went to a community College, I had a figure drawing instructor complain about me not drawing objects with the figure drawings. Well, I knew the guy was 60, and had a Masters degree. After class, he sat at his desk at his office ;and I sat at in the front in a chair. I examined our FINGER NAILS. My finger nails were boxed squares and his were the CLASSIC OVALS. I explained that I felt the reason why I didn't draw objects with the figures was because I was getting carpal tunnel syndrome from the MANICURE I had...he never pointed this out for the figure drawing 2 class, and I got a B instead of an A. VERY CLEVER, AND LESS DRAWING MISTAKES ON HIS PART!
I’ll try this outside innapproach for sure! My drawings are always so messy so I think doing the full body shape as a first draft will help instead of drawing contour lines early. As you said it depends on the goal of the image :) Also you said you are always trying to “figure” out an approach. Good one! (Ok I’m sorry)
I just came across your videos and i found them worth watching. As a learner I think your tutorial videos are enough. Again AMAZING 😍. Which software u use for 2d animation?
are u on skill share if so i would love to take your beginners classes all the way to advanced cause i have a disability and your videos really help me understand drawing and animation so much better do u also do drawing classes and color classes to
Hello sir, i am your big fan from India. Sir i have a very strong urge to learn animation from you through your 'the complete introduction to 2d animation course'. Sir my economic condition is very poor these days😔, I can't afford the price of the course right now but I will surely do my best in learning the skills teach by you and I will pay the amount of the course when I'll get some work through my art. Please help me so I can access your course.🙏 I hope you will understand my situation and help me in my tough time. Thank you sir🙏💛
I've recently been rewatching your own animations and I've been wondering in certain scenes in like little nomad and Wolfson there always seems to be a blur in certain movements of the character is this true and if it is why and how do you do that?
Please don't use a rectangle for the torso! It is very stiff doesn't show any bending, squashing, stretching, twisting. The proko bean is far superior if your looking for a very simple way to indicate the torso.
That is good and all but what if you're character has completed different body shape (anatomy) and you only want the same or semilunar pose with your reference Haw are you goin to drawing animesion if created non human characters like monster robot ECT that is not humanoid ?

Just learn it for its own sake and see where it leads.

This is exactly what I was looking for.
Imma try using this exercise cuz i seem to be failing at drawing figures effectively using softer angles and more precise proportions!

Drawing doodles:Q: That seems to be good brain strengthening experience, but for orientations for anatomy, is it useful?
Drawing objects is okay, but trying to study CROWD SCENE AND CYCLE ANIMATION looks interesting.
What is the title of the first storyboard in the beginning?
💖
You sure you don’t do kirito’s voice on SAO? 👀
