My home town. Somewhere there in the footage might be my 6 year old Mum. I cannot bear to go into Brighton now. It's like a burned out corpse of what it once was.
Great vedio, i use to live in Brighton in 70s while I was studying in Sussex, and i visit Brighton every time I visit England. I have great memories of Brighton, . Brighton is my second home, i love the town , brightonions and the area surrounding brighton . It has a great history ❤
Watching this in Brighton in 2022. It’s quite sad because you can see it was once a glorious city and still has its nice spots but it is a very troubled city now. Hope regains it’s former greatness.
My father was 10 in 1932. My mother was 3. They've both passed away now (in 2012 and 2015 respectively). Excellent footage. The only thing is though, because nearly all footage from those days is in black and white, I have to remind myself that the world wasn't actually black and white back then! (Colour film existed but it was in its early stages and was difficult and expensive to make).
Fascinating. So much detail that multiple viewings are very rewarding.

This is so nice to be among the people’s over 89 years ago. It’s a feeling of traveling in a time machine. All I can say is: WOW!!!!!

I can't imagine any woman on that beach had any fear of gangs of men sexually harassing them.
I was born and bred in Brighton mate; breaks my heart to see the state of the city now…
@@tintobrass532 sorry to hear that mate.
@@tintobrass532what's wrong with Brighton today what changed?
@@Ben-io2vonothing, its far better now than it ever was. These Boomers just don;t like women walking out alone and brown people do they.
Beautiful but heartbreaking to see how elegant Brighton once was compared to the dump it is today.
Beautiful video
What’s the background music?

Thanks for sharing your memories.
When Brighton was at it's best full of English people . Now a rundown , dirty and neglected shadow of it's former glorious self .
And the racist ignoramus is shoved down in last place on the thread
I am sorry you referenced 'English' people. The issues are caused by a range of residents and visitors!
