    I'll be interested to see how you go with this. I've got a GU TD42T that is now putting out 189KW at the wheels and that cost me about $10K, doing all the work myself. Plus I paid the premium price for a TD42 to begin with. I'm guessing a ZD30 plus LS1 would be cheaper. Good luck with the conversion, Callan

      Cheers Linda, final vid will be up soon! Yeah, The build is sitting at $10k at the moment for all the parts, exhaust, wiring and tune. Ive used the best (most expensive kit) on the market, it could be done for less if you're good at fabrication or used a lesser brand. Its finished and running but the oil pump is playing up. The engine theoretically should be putting out 255kw (Clubsport engine) at the flywheel but it will be less than that but still better than the ZD30!

    Next thing should be stroker and blower. I knew a bloke who had a GU with that swap and it would light the rears 3rd gear on the highway.

    why did you chose ls1? did you look at a diesel conversion, and if so why didnt you want to go there?

    • @callansmith4815

      LS1 is cheap and easy power compared to other options. As well as this Mark4WD offer a bolt in kit, with no cutting and welding required.

    g'day mate, hows the 5 speed gonna hold up under the ls1? do you have faith? are they strong enough?

    • @callansmith4815
      @callansmith4815  7 років тому +1

      Yeah, they're strong enough. If i were to cam and charge it id ditch the 5speed and go to an auto box. But yeah, 5 speed is well and truely strong enough for standard tuned LS1. :)

    hey callan ive just started my build mate, the ls1 i bought had the same sump on it as yours, a few guys say it will get hit by the tie rod, have you had any problems with it?

    • @callansmith4815
      @callansmith4815  5 років тому +1

      yeah it was shithouse, got rid of it after the first drive. if youve bought marks kit bellhousing you really need to use the marks kit sump; they butt up and bolt together to close off fly wheels.

    Wow very nice.
    Hlw sir.Do have ls ecu diagram.

    • @callansmith4815
      @callansmith4815  6 років тому

      Na, no diagram matey. What you do is splice the factory LS loom/ecu into the patrol dash. Ditch all the patrol computers etc. I got a mate to do it all for me though- too hard for me. You can send your LS loom off to a few places in Australia and get it done (so it plugs in to the patrol). Marks4wd also offers a wiring interface you can buy.
