Capes Review

- Capes reviewed by Dan Stapleton on PC. Also available on Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch.
Capes’ clever and challenging take on superhero-flavored turn-based tactical combat gives you all of the information you need to turn the tables on its villains. Watching the action figure-like characters combine their powers and supercharge their diverse ultimate abilities sells their teamwork well, and chasing optional objectives in each mission gives you a lot to think about to counter a wide range of enemy types. Stealth missions don’t work quite as well but they’re mostly optional, and the story, heroes, and villains are entertainingly written throughout the substantial campaign.

Sweetened baby game
Thought about it but it just seems average and we all know why
Its because of their “priorities”
No, thanks
This looks terrible and the characters all look generic and boring. No thanks.
NO CAPES!
Google translated this to "DON'T CAPES"
Class Action Suit incoming!
The title straight up mocks how pop culture associates heroes with capes.
@@logixindiethey're the ONLY people that wear capes. So it makes sense!
@@therealarienDO NOT CAPES

You can tell from the bad voice acting. All diversity hires.
Will not support this game
This game is fun, but it feels very generic. Like your attacks just don't do much damage.
This game is not getting the best reviews on steam
That just means some people will like it more than others. I'm okay with that
Steam, has one of the most broken aggregate systems ever. That's not a standard you should go by...
@@rudeboyspodcast It means most don't like it because it is crap
For freedom, for justice, right makes might!
😂
Didn't think I'd see a freedom force reference in 2024, but here we are
Anyone remember Atlas Reactor?
Atlas with Jennifer Lopez
Strategy game of superheroes with Valorant style characters and generic graphics, gameplay and story. Damn its an 8. what are you smoking?
Sorry, I'm still hung up on this game not having capes despite its name.
I'm happy that more games like this are coming out
Looks Cool But Neets More Capes
Reminds me of Freedom Force
Half of this comment section proves that gamers will never beat the “basement dweller” allegations.
nice try DEV
till ain't buying your slop tho!
@@abiski8851 what are you going on about. Are you implying that I’m a developer? Did my comment strike a nerve LOL
@Isukiri544 nah we just see the rage bait you posting.
Unlike why kids like the taste of cinnamon toast crunch.
Tactical turn based games are my cup of tea.❤
IGN gave this an 8 on there scale in same breath they gave black myth wukong an 8.
You gotta be kidding this game is a 5 at best. The animations, the cutscene performance, the boring looking generic characters.
The poster guy from this game looks like the guy from Serial Cleaners. Or is it that everyone used to look like that ?
IGN giving it an 8/10 to avoid the loud mouth activists who won’t buy the game anyway.
Blech
Dan Stapleton by far IGN best reviewer
so sick of this genre
Go play Overwatch or Angry Birds then
The genre said the same thing about you.
ADHD moment
Why do most games feel so basic these days? There's barely any real innovation.
Because innovation brings risk. Games are too expensive for risk. No one wants to risk losing $100+ million
@@chickensaurus5611 this game is losing money, only 600 player all time on steam
@@netgodzilla1 it doesn’t change the point. Making something known is a guarantee of success, but it is the safest approach. Making something new or ahead of its time brings a gamble. Sometimes that pays off, but it’s a bigger gamble.
Playing it tonight!
A very shallow review.

Games like these are a complete waste of game dev dollars… you spend all that time to make a game, make a real one
Its ok buddy, strategy games can be tough for the mentally impaired.
So what in your opinion is a real game ?
maybe he prefers musical chairs, Russian Roulette, or everyone's favorite 52 card pickup
This game is actually fun
