I did go to Daniel channel has you requested. Boy were you right about the 30 mins. on snap change was very interesting. I did like and subscribed to his channel. Even left a note about how I found his channel. Thanks Dave hope someday I be able to get pass the monthly to join your other channels. So, I can pay for the yearly ones. Later
Without revealing the secrets of either ProCaps or Capsize, I'm curious if anyone has thoughts on advantages/disadvantages of one over the other? Either in terms of versatility or required skill level or ...? Both look appealing, but kinda hard to justify carrying around multiple bottle caps. 😉
Heard back from Penguin customer service on the preorder I received. Sounds like, if they DO end up doing injection molding, it will be a different sku. If you order now, (or if you already preordered) you will be receiving the 3D printed version. Really wish I could post pics of mine here as, IMO, it does not look great.
@@magicorthodoxy Mine has a lot of the striations and visible pitting, (especially around the top edges) that are typical of printing smaller pieces and poor bed adhesion. And while not everyone can flag something as a 3D print, I do think there's quite a bit of awareness out there these days as to what a 3D print looks like. And if that's NOT the case with a spectator, I think that most know what a smooth bottle lid looks like and mine looks like anything but. Some may not consider it a deal killer, for sure. But if the overall idea is that I just pulled these off of a bottle, I don't think anyone would buy that with the set I received.
Hi David, as always a top drawer review! Always excellent and impeccable reviews: thorough, thoughtful, informative, candid and enjoyable! Thank you so much for all you do! Your friend, David
Great review and thanks. As you say, there is alot of material on the vid. . As with most tricks, choose one or two routeens only but do these very well. Coin magic I have not done much of. But to fans this must be a real plus. Cheers David
I ordered this on Penguin and am not a reviewer and mine is not mold injected, just 3D printed, (and not a particularly great print). Wondering if I should reach out to them.
@@magicorthodoxy I was a preorder. I emailed Penguin, as I really think the 3D printed version is a deal killer for performing. Mine even appear to have had bed adhesion issues at the start, (some pitting and curling around the edges). I really love the idea of this, I just don’t see the 3D printed version as something I’d do.
I wanted this at magic live but Craig had trouble several times getting the coin to remain inside. The coin had to be pushed into place, it wouldn't hold by simply dropping the coins in. Maybe it was that one set but I had to pass
everything costs more - Milk was $1 less only 2 years ago. The price for eggs, butter and margarine have jumped even higher. I can still remember when phone calls were a dime and a gallon of bleach was 99 cents
@@magicorthodoxy You're comparing apples to mangoes, Dave. The price of milk went up, not the price of the container. Well, not significantly enough to factor into the price of the product. In this case, the packaging was unnecessary and added far too much to the cost of the product.
While the effects sound good, the caps are 3D printed and they look like it. Any examination by the audience will reveal that they aren’t “real” caps. This kills the effect for me.
I disagree with Dave. Vehemently. I pre-ordered this and received my set (finally) this week. In a word, or rather an acronym, it's a POS. I was excited at the possibilities with a slot box designed into a common object, but that's not what you're getting. I work with coin boxes, including slot boxes, and this isn't close. It's more of a thin, fragile plastic ledge box. The set I got was 3-D printed and it shows. At the price point I expected injection-molded props. Nope. Coins will not reliably remain in the box making this a worthless purchase. At least until, and if, the defects are addressed. Hell, they paid more for the packaging than the product! I asked for a refund, and to PM's credit they processed it promptly and without pain.
You’re awesome!!!
Thanks for the Daniel Madison suggestion
Any time!
I ordered mine. Can't wait for it. The membership section rocks!!! Love Daniel!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
I was considering getting this and now I'm convinced. Cheers, David!
hope you like it

Hi, thank you for the review… what are the differences between this and Pro Caps by Lloyd Barnes?
totally different tricks
Good points David!!
Thanks Duane !!!
I’m still on the fence on this one….
wait til you see more reviews
Great review sir! Still on the fence about this effect.
keep reading reviews until you're confident
Great review as always my friend
I appreciate that

2 totally different tricks - pick the one YOU LIKE better

should look the same as mine

I noticed he does the push in the promo video as well. Spectators still don't catch on.
Amazing review!
Glad you enjoyed it
Could add this with the Lloyd Barnes' ProCaps effect perhaps?
the caps are way different but maybe
@@magicorthodoxy Good to know. Thanks.
another release in a hard-shell-magnetic case … probably doubling the cost of the release 🤷♂️
Why?
Thanks David 👍👍
It's only $40? Every download today is $19 and you get nothing with it! 😁
@@magicorthodoxy so $10-$15 for the box 😤

The only problem is that caps are now being made so they remain attached to the bottles… 😅
Those have not made it to where I live
Where? I have never seen one.
@@DetailOneLakeland They’re currently changing over in Europe and the UK. You can still get them with the old style, but they’re being phased out.
But why does it look 3D printed?

yea, sorry about that --- it seems some early adopters got 3d printed props - but now they are all injection-molded.
The fact that it’s so obviously 3D printed seems like an issue.
