These are no longer British tanks. After giving the tanks to Ukraine they are ukrainian tanks and Ukraine should be able to use them as they want. By the way, I find Carols questions terrible
I, too, find her questions terrible, but you've got it wrong about the weapons. Sure, they got the weapons in their hands, but Ukraine is 100% dependent on our continued support. If we say "you can only use our weapons in this specific way" and they ignore these conditions, we would immediately cancel any further support, thus ensuring Ukraine's end. Also, don't forget that a tank is only as good as its logistics (remember the 50 km column of tanks heading towards Kiew?) - spare parts, ammo. A tank does very little without those.

What a dumb question right at the beginning. By every meaningful definition of the words “defensive” and “offensive”, everything Ukraine does in this war is defensive. They are the ones being attacked after all.
Ukraine is showing that counter- offense is the best defense. But counter-offense into Russia with NATO tanks will be used by Russia to recruit faster.
"Attack is the best form of defense" was the right answer to the weak doubts of the interviewer. It reminds me of the French quotation (possibly Voltaire, I'll have to check!) "Attention! Ce chien est bien méchant. Quand on l'attaque, il se défend!"

My German made car does not belong to Germany. It belongs to me. Same with Ukrainian British made tanks. And why do we even care anyway? Isn't it clear that Russia is no longer a nuclear power? They would have nuked someone long ago if they had any that work. Fortunately for the world, two decades worth of maintenance funding for their nuclear arsenal has been stolen, just like everything else, and they can't find one that will work. This is so obvious at this point we can stop all this escalation fear. The war is and will always be a conventional war.

As someone says below "what is the matter with this interviewer". She raises problems and blocks but has a complete inability to think of solutions. Thankfully the interviewee comes up with sophisticated answers. Who cares what the Russians think, They have lost all rights for anyone to care what equipment is used against them after we have all seen evidence of their tortures, massacres of civilians in Bucha etc. One wonders if the interviewer has totally forgotten all of these events. It is plain to see you do not know how journalism works. (sigh). I shall explain. If the person being interviewed is left leaning, you take a right position in your questions, and vice versa.
If the person interviewed is for Ukraine, you introduce the Russian perspective, and if they are pro-Russia, you ask questions from a western perspective. If a journalist does not take a contrary position, they can't draw out good explanations for the viewer. Then you end up with a Fox or Newsmax propaganda style of fake journalism that tRump loves.
So to sum up, she is NOT pro Russia nor fawning over tRump, she is getting the interviewed person to explain his position to we the viewers. Just as she should.

Ukraine was likely 20 years from joining NATO Prior to Putrids invasion. The majority of Ukrainians weren't really for joining NATO.

Instead of asking the general some strategic questions of real military importance, we instead get a series of hand-wringing (and frankly dumb) questions about provoking Russia. Russian land ceased to be sacrosanct and inviolable the minute they invaded Ukraine in 2014 and then again in February 2022.
I hope we have more of Sir Simon Mayall on this channel and less of the host.

This particular interviewer asks really a single question, all over again, in all her interviews: "I am terrified of Putin, you should be as well, aren't you?". Fortunately she is much better at picking up interviewees than at questioning.

With Australian and British troops training Ukraines special forces. I quote: "Most of us would like be beside them and doing some fighting too." A poll was conducted in Australian biggest Army base, and 78% said they would like to be given a leave of absence and want to fight in Ukraine. No shortage of volunteers. 40% of the Ukraine Foreign Legion are British troops and they are in the Kursh invasion.
You cannot win a war by chucking stones from the sidelines. There are five Russian air bases that Ukraine wants to make inoperable and thats what they are doing.

Mayall is talking nonsense. This is not the 20th Century. Airbases within russian territory allow russia to launch devastating bomb attacks against civilian targets in Ukraine as well as on front line troops and settlements in Ukraine. Defence starts by disabling those airfields, weapon stocks and planes, all located safely in russia.
That he sees land battles in Kursk as bneing of little military significance, and therefore suitable for the use of western weaponry, shows only that he has no grasp of the conflict. Glad he is retired!
