  • In this video Matthew Piecora (aka EZBOT) shares an overview and demo of the Instruop Athru, a fully featured analog wave folder module for eurorack.
Learn more about hte Instruo Athru here: bit.ly/instruo...
The result of an ongoing process of evolution, starting out as a derivative of the west coast timbre circuit, the wavefolders in the Instruō system have been tweaked and adapted with each incarnation. athrú is the latest incarnation of this series of Instruō wavefolders, in a stand alone package.
Plug in any audio signal and discover what wonders wavefolders are capable of; from subtle boosts in harmonics to full on spectral devastation. CV control over depth via an exponential response VCA, summing with a scalable symmetry offset offers exceptional control over timbral and dynamic changes of the incoming signal.

I’ve been eyeing this module for sometime now! Thinking it would pair nicely with the mother 32. Patch the triangle lfo into it to get some more interesting modulation or have the filtered osc go into it. Thanks for showing it off!

it's actually amazing with the M32 - that's what I originally got it for - took a while to grow on me, the Athru is a very sensitive module IMO. WIIIIDE range of distinctive analog sounds. Once I got the hang of it a few months later, it's a natural partner.

Best thing I ever did for this module was sit down with a VERY compact Mother-32 based system, a limited number of patch cables and a Mordax Data. It's starting to feel a lot more controllable now and even has moments of extreme beauty amidst all the chaos it creates. I'm starting to like it a lot. It keeps the character of the original Mother-32 signal but also overlays a distinctive range of extremely-analog timbres on top, in just 4 hp. Again, had a bit of a learning curve for me.

Do I need a wavefolder now?

much prefer other wavefolders over this one, eg. Doepfer, Make Noise or Intellijel

      Why?

@@EZBOT_ superior panel layout, separate CV attenuators, more control, eg. Doepfer A-137

It added too much noise for me
