What a great intro song Jon. Great song played on a great guitar. If I was a guitar builder I would send my guitars to you for review. You’re a great song composer and give wonderful reviews.
That acoustic sound is just phenomenal Jon. When I got my Tak 23 years ago the acoustic sound wasn’t as good as that and I preferred the pickup it came with. but maturity of the the wood has made a massive improvement of the tone and the resonance. Imagine what that one you’re playing will be like in a few years time. Great playing as ever Jon 😃👍
Subbed... Fantastic video! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful guitar and i love cold black mountain! So good. Ive been on the search for a new acoustic set up for a few months. I bought a taylor but had to return it due to it being damaged. Did more researched, determined i wanted a Japanese made guitar. Weighed my yamaha and takamine options (both which i havent owned or played before). I pick up my ptu241c in a few days and cant wait to plug into my fishman loudbox. I actually found one here in the states and got lucky. Many thanks again!
Hi Jonathan, Great value guitar in aesthetics, tone & price. Strong mids without too much bass or piercing highs. Beautiful colour & finish. Well played. Cheers ✌️🎸💜
Over the decades Ive found three major things that can produce a completely different tone from the same acoustic guitar... The type and gauge of strings The type of material and thickness of the pick used And the one everyone overlooks, the humidity level of the guitar... This one I amazed by, when a guitar is properly humidified the tone is more full and brings out the lower and lower mid notes that get lost when a guitar gets dry You can also brighten up a guitar with things like bone or brass bridge pins, or nut. On my guitar I ran bone bridge pins, used Elixir light nanowebs (because i could get around three gigs out of them in the Texas heat). Thinner picks tend to lend a brighter tone where as medium picks and up dull the sound a bit but offer better control.
