That was a good idea I think I would have used a belt tensioner off of something and rigged up something with the clutch pedal to release it so it acts like a clutch, but your idea works great all you have to do is take your foot off the gas petal and shift gears.
Those setups are definitely getting more and more common in the small engine world. Cars & Cameras have been working with them for a few years now, really cool stuff.

I’ll bet that set up will be more reliable than some of the CVT transmissions in production .
for real man. my girl has a base model lancer and the transmissions are only supposed to last 100,000 miles if you're lucky
this would fix like 90% of the issues with my Yugo lol

if anyone have yugo in america you can swap it with fiat soch engine (1.5 or 1.6) it's same as yugos engine
the fiat x-19 motor works too I think it's a 1.5. and apperantly you and rig up fuel injection with fiat Punto parts
