- Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.
Persian, also known as Farsi in Iran, is a major language of the Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian language family. It serves as the official language of Iran and has official status in Afghanistan (as Dari) and Tajikistan (as Tajik). Persian has a rich literary history dating back over a millennium, with renowned poets such as Hafez, Rumi, and Ferdowsi contributing to its legacy. Written in the Persian script, a modified version of the Arabic script, it is spoken by over 80 million native speakers and is known for its influence on neighboring languages and cultures in Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Persian's vocabulary and grammar have remained relatively stable over centuries, allowing modern speakers to understand classic Persian literature with relative ease.
Tat, or Caucasian Tat, is an endangered language spoken by the Tat people primarily in parts of Azerbaijan and southern Dagestan, Russia. It belongs to the Southwestern Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian languages, closely related to Persian but with influences from the Turkic, Caucasian, and Slavic languages due to its geographical setting. Tat has several dialects, with variations influenced by local languages and cultural contacts. The language is traditionally written in the Cyrillic or Latin scripts in different regions, though historically it used the Persian script. Tat has been impacted by language shift, with many Tat speakers adopting Azerbaijani, leading to a decline in native speakers. Preservation efforts are minimal, but there are local initiatives aimed at documenting and revitalizing the language.
This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.

Is any Tat speaker there? What's the situation of Tat language right now? Is it going to extinction?
In Tat language " So " to denote subjunctive: "(that should ) be" resembles the similar case in Romance languages e.g, Spanish equivalent " Sea "
It's the Indo-European connection! The verb 'to be' always has an /s/ somewhere in the paradigm (Modern English ):
Spanish: es / sea
Old English: is /sie
Latin: est / sit
Sanskrit: asti / syat
Classical Greek: esti / essi
Icelandic: er (< es)/ sé
And many more, though the subjunctive is lost in many branches
@@RcsN505 Well, yes to certain extent , for the verb to be first person is in general " Vowel + m/ n " e.g am ( in English and Persian ) , bin , ben in Germanic .

Bro, I know it doesn’t seem like it, but making these videos is pretty hard. Calm down, I’m sure she’s reading the requests.
Tati sounds like it has some Soranî twist, but maybe I'm tripping
Any tat here?
