@spiffytuber7515 xbox narrows it down a bit but besides forza there would be ACC and AC (AC would give you more variety than ACC) or, if you can find a copy somewhere Project CARS 2 (probably best single player experience from this list). Forza isn't a bad title at all but as seen in some of the comments here, still several bugs and crashes possible. @@OverTake_gg I have both AC and ACC I really enjoy them a lot, PCars 2 not as much because of the slippery curbs. Does the new FM feel better than FM7? im not sure if it is just the recording or if your game was having some jittery performance but if you cap your frame rate right below the fps you generally get in game that stutter or jitter goes away
Might be the recording then (altho I didn't saw any when watching the video prior). I got it capped to 60 FPS, so that it is the same as in Multiplayer. - Rene
@@aaronsmith7143 there's a little bit of bump to the carrousel but not as much as in real life. I'm not saying it's perfect. But some places it has become a lot smoother over the years. In game but that might be difficult to get that feeling right. That you get pushed into the carrousel that's completely missing. Never had that feeling in a game. And so far no places where the car wants to get super light or even feeling like jumping. As even my S2000 can get airborne or really lose irl.
This track is from Forza 7, maybe even older. It's 100% the same track as in Forza 7. I've thoroughly checked everything with a keen eye, and it's just retextured. It even has the same faults in the same places too. The spray paint on the track isn't the real paint either, and there are loads of the same spray paint copied and pasted around the track. Despite having a lot of fun driving it with the new physics, it's essentially a deception from the marketing team! Great video, by the way, mate.
😅I love the new track but unfortunately update 5 broke my free play multiclass racing, kicking me out of the game...numerous forums have identified it so hoping they release a fix fast or I will stop playing for a while😂
@@OverTake_gg Doesn't seem to matter the combination. It seems to be if I use any "saved" setup where I configured 4 buckets...the game accepts the config, then as it is loading the track (specifically when you see the "Skip Intro" or whatever it says just before it gives option to start race) that it kicks me back out to Xbox home screen...I can race single buckets just fine...
Yes they are, but somehow disjointed when you look closely. Branches hanging in the air and stuff. You don't see it when passing by, though. You only see it in photo mode. Trees further in the background are 2D planes
It´s just too wide isn´t it (the asphalt "line" below the concrete). I checked it 3rd person, you can put the GT3RS fully on it and then some. But I also checked my own onboars and unless the perspective on the cameras is soo wrong, no chance to fit an entire car on that lane. Still wonder if they did that due to bad source material / reusing old material, or because they think it makes the corner "easier" and better for their game - Rene
T10 probably made it easier for for online racing, knowing that online racing is usually a mess and people love the Nurburgring so to try and save complaints about crashes on that corner from people doing sketchy overtakes or trying to take a too tight of a line they added extra tarmac to compensate
It could be that yeah, I mean...plenty of crashing in races there in general, I think thats the corner where I witnessed cars jumping out and touching the wall in front of me the most, especially during RCN. - Rene
@@CairnieR That's impossible, because Nordschleife layout will not be playable in multiplayer, only in career mode, rivals, free play, and private multiplayer.
true that, altho we never really expected it there due to it being a title about a specific series. Wouldn´t expect it in a Nascar title either haha. But its good that it will also join that track roster this year, so loots to race for Nordschleife fans basically! - Rene
It's probably the FM7 (2017) version updated to the new physics model? It's no secret FM is a mess, but being the version from FM7 is probably why they were able to get it out as fast as they could since the game was hemorrhaging players. It's also why it looks outdated as far as tack details... Just like their version of Spa, is entirely inaccurate to the modern day one. GT7 does tracks and cars more realistically, but it's a boring game, IMO. So, I'll take inaccuracies of Forza, over the boring and sterile experience of GT7, any day.
It Is an another, unannounced, not that important, but divisive, thing "we just do"-T10. It Is surely because of a mix of too dark(extra light), And racing the Nords with Cars with no lights.
I think turn 10 adds fake trees and objects to just impress people that really dont know how the track looks in reallife other racing franshises just dosent do that they go for more accurate approach even if its not always looks as appealing
The kerbstone at the exit of t1 on the nordschleife is way to high and the other kerbstones are not like in real life l btw the whole track look like it's not laserscanned but just handmade and it's way off from how it looks in real life the gran turismo version is spot on with everything
well its not that bad, I have done close to over 300 laps of Nord. Looks very similar to Forza 7, but I can see more markings on the tracks, curbs look a little too low in a few of the corners when they should be higher, and there is a few more off track details which isn't a bad thing. This game is a pass from me anyway so can't comment on the bumps
i cant get into the new fm i tried it on release the cars handle horribly except when gripped up. Ive stayed on fm7 for forza games, but if your actually chasing a good feeling physics you have to make the switch to assetto corsa.
The kerbs feel all wrong also. Around Hatzenbach for example you can take the kerb in real but on here it feels very flat. Its a 7/10 accurate for me and yes those flags are not there ever! Atleast on the full combined course they use the correct chicane at Veedol!
I was really confused by the curbs, some feel/look very flat in the game (compared to reallife) and then others feel/look a lot taller (one example is Wippermann, the wipperman challenge curb. Reallife it is a moderate curb to run over, here it looks way more massive). Talking about Hatzenback, the tight right in the chicane (that often gets cut in race pace) misses the "gutter" cut-out in the curb itself and also the "edge" together with the inside dip, so I can understand your point. Thats why I would love to know what they based this on, is it a laserscan? is it just based on videos or did they make these changes on purpose for gameplay reasons (to make it more forgiving). - Rene
@OverTake_gg from what I heard it was a full rescan but it doesn't feel it does it. And yes I have a nice picture of my Megane lifting a wheel over that very curb you mention, yet on the game you don't feel it. Also a shame no tf, still say there is a game to be made using the whole area horizon/motorsport mix drive to ED, try other cars at rentals, and of course the drive to Adenau and places like the boulevard...I guess we just have do it for real instead can't wait to get going again 👍
Virtually everything looks flat because you can't feel the dimension like in real life, that's for EVERYTHING, not only nurburging, or forza, or a videogame
that would have been true if we would still be in the 90s or in the times of 2d driving games (but they created depth with tricks in art design). This is an actual 3D mesh and an engine with lighting that creates shadows etc.. Even without the shadows you would still see dips and all that. And when talking about feeling, since the visual 3d mesh gets a physical mesh, you would also feel the load of the car changing in your FFB when one of the tyres dips down on the apex (if there would be some sort of banking).
@@OverTake_gg Look for example the corckscrew at laguna seca. Virtually in every game it looks just like a normal curved hill, but if you saw top gear it's stunning to see how steep it actually is! You can't feel in a video those things, you can't feel proportions on a screen, that's what i mean! Since you are comparing it to real life, it always will feel another world in real life compared to a video. I've tested it myself on the Mugello Circuit IRL plus many photos and videos i've done, everything looks cool but you can't feel the space
@tommyvercettygt hey there, ok that makes more sense but that's the General feel of "room and space" kinda and yes it will never be the same. But the different variations in a corner can still ne replicated correctly with the angles etc. I did aim racing my whole life and then changed to real racing later, so I learned originally on a screen and it worked really well for me. But in the instance of this Nordschleife version, there are just things missing which are there in other titles (and real life). Of course you are notnfeeling elevation changes etc. The same way as you do in the real car :) maybe one day who knows? - Rene
@OverTake_gg I did a few track days at Laguna on Sport Bikes, nothing can prepare for what that feels like, however, Psvr in GT7 is the closest to matching that in a game though
@@NinetyTres exactly, VR does the job properly. But unfortunately Forza has no VR mode available, even though it was extremely requested because it's not that difficult to implement

On consoles I think I agree. On PC, I still feel like the most realistic feeling in terms of track surface I get out of rFactor 2 which was build on a 2018 scan of the track (before someone brings it up, yes I worked there at the time so I am probably also biased). Really excellent video, Rene! Because they are! So get over it." Just ignore the snide negative remarks from some of the viewers - I think it's less about you and more about the overall anger and disappointment about the game and the toxic atmosphere that has developed among the players. Just to state things everyone already knows - this "new" track was rushed out ahead of plan as part of their lame weak response to the multitude of problems and criticisms. It wasn't in the game originally for the same reason lots of content was removed - it's their intention to gradually trickle it out over time, as a cheap way of pretending to update the game while doing as little actual work on it as possible. This version of Forza Motorsport is very low on the racing sim scale and very high on the arcade scale. The game's primary purpose is to sell consoles and subscriptions. They really don't care about accurate details. When you look at every aspect of the content they published, the cars, the tracks, the racing itself, it's painfully obvious that it's all been done by a group of people who mostly know how to write game code and know very little about racing, history of motorsport, or real life race care engineering.

The thing I’ll say is that it’s the best Nordschleife in any of the Forza’s in terms of feel. I still think Assetto Corsa has the best one out of all of them personally. But for feel in Forza, feeling the bumps better and the air you can get from certain spots unlike in the previous title(s) it just feels right. But like I said, it’s no means the best version of anything, only Forza itself.
I don’t get why people do this, I’m not trying to have a go but you can’t just say you like the feel of the Nordschleife on FM and leave it at that, you have to emphasise how bad the game is, etc, it’s just fascinating because I feel like I’m the only one who enjoys the game, I haven’t turned on my PS5 since FM released. I’m aware of FM’s issues but the comments just make me laugh, you’re really not allowed to compliment the game are you? Even if the compliment is warranted we must fall back to hating it, fascinating behaviour.
@@ashdog236 I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m not hating on the game. I can definitely give my critiques about the game, and I do have them, but I don’t hate the game. No, does it have to? Probably also no (altho that is clearly for everyone to decide for themselves). I obviously love the nordschleife, thats why I moved there and drive it basically whenever it is open.. so I might be a bit more likely to critique certain elements that feel different. But that doesn´t make it a bad release and I hope it came across that way in the video (as in that I enjoyed it even tho there are a few points that might not be as crazy detailed as in other sims). Forza isn't a bad title at all but as seen in some of the comments here, still several bugs and crashes possible. Content wise it's really nice but compared to everything else on the list I mentioned, the physics are more arcade-ish than the others, which still is a ton of fun tho.
@@OverTake_gg I have both AC and ACC I really enjoy them a lot, PCars 2 not as much because of the slippery curbs. Does the new FM feel better than FM7?
I remember FM7 felt particularly bad with high downforce cars like the RS17 where the suspension was really bouncy and the car was really twitchy and the he game overall had a slidy feel to it
@spiffytuber7515 the slidy feel is for sure still there (at least that's how I perceived it, obviously some people have a different opinion. If you enjoy ACC then FM will feel very different from that for sure
You feel the carrousel plates? Because I can't feel anything, no rumble at all with my fanatec on xbox... Do you have an idea what could be the cause of it?
not as pronounced as I would like to, but it´s there, yes. Are you currently running base settings? We did a video on our channel a while ago about wheel settings. Unfortunately there had been a few patches by now, but it might give you a "new" starting point. - Rene
@@OverTake_gg i'll check it out. Thx! I don't use the Standard settings, but they r probably not very good. I will try yours.
let me know, otherwise join our discord and when I am back at the PC on sunday, I can look into what exactly doesn´t feel right for you and try to help fixing it. - Rene
im not sure if it is just the recording or if your game was having some jittery performance but if you cap your frame rate right below the fps you generally get in game that stutter or jitter goes away
Might be the recording then (altho I didn't saw any when watching the video prior). I got it capped to 60 FPS, so that it is the same as in Multiplayer. - Rene
Always great to have the Nordschleife to race on! Looks great but hey here i am still playing Forza 7 because of yeah, more content🤷
I was thinking the same thing and that the track plays allot smoother then other games, like the road surface is less rough.
Road surface has been renewed quite a lot. Last time I was there it was quite smooth compared to other years 😬
@@hayerenders4576
But a lot of iconic corners are still bumpy. The carousel in FM23 is literally just a flat texture for the banking.
I had the same feeling but since I did not go through it side by side at that point, didn´t wanted to make it a main point. - Rene
I raced 100s of hours on fm7 on this track it isn't the same track there are many differences people just say anything to Fit in
would really love to hear what differences you found. Are we talking visual ones or actual track changes? - Rene
Joke comment 😂🤡
He is right
😅I love the new track but unfortunately update 5 broke my free play multiclass racing, kicking me out of the game...numerous forums have identified it so hoping they release a fix fast or I will stop playing for a while😂
Same here
ah damn, thats harsh, whats the exact combo where it happens? - Rene
@@OverTake_gg Doesn't seem to matter the combination. It seems to be if I use any "saved" setup where I configured 4 buckets...the game accepts the config, then as it is loading the track (specifically when you see the "Skip Intro" or whatever it says just before it gives option to start race) that it kicks me back out to Xbox home screen...I can race single buckets just fine...
that seems to be an odd overlook in testing then :/ sorry to hear. Fingers crossed that there is a hotfix coming. - Rene
Are the trees and vegetation truely 3D ?
Yes they are, but somehow disjointed when you look closely. Branches hanging in the air and stuff. You don't see it when passing by, though. You only see it in photo mode. Trees further in the background are 2D planes
Has anyone had a problem with the game crashing when making a multi class race in free play ?
Yes bro and it’s so frustrating
I kinda got it to work one time
The mini carousel is definitely wrong.
And yet nordschleife isn’t in Assetto Corsa Competizione at launch.
true that, altho we never really expected it there due to it being a title about a specific series. Wouldn´t expect it in a Nascar title either haha. But its good that it will also join that track roster this year, so loots to race for Nordschleife fans basically! - Rene
It wasn't an official track of GT World Challenge until recently, which is why it's only coming soon 😊
@@OverTake_gg yeah, for sure can’t wait for it to be added. I’ve been playing in the og assetto for while just because it’s a really fun track.
Yeah but it's still a way better driving game 😅
It's probably the FM7 (2017) version updated to the new physics model? It's no secret FM is a mess, but being the version from FM7 is probably why they were able to get it out as fast as they could since the game was hemorrhaging players. It's also why it looks outdated as far as tack details... Just like their version of Spa, is entirely inaccurate to the modern day one. GT7 does tracks and cars more realistically, but it's a boring game, IMO. So, I'll take inaccuracies of Forza, over the boring and sterile experience of GT7, any day.
Why are there track lights for night races? Nordschleife is pitch black at night.
Because its a game
It Is an another, unannounced, not that important, but divisive, thing "we just do"-T10.
It Is surely because of a mix of too dark(extra light), And racing the Nords with Cars with no lights.
Just another reason why this isn't a sim. AC>GT7>FM
Because it’s a game and it’s good for gameplay

well its not that bad, I have done close to over 300 laps of Nord. Looks very similar to Forza 7, but I can see more markings on the tracks, curbs look a little too low in a few of the corners when they should be higher, and there is a few more off track details which isn't a bad thing.
Also a shame no tf, still say there is a game to be made using the whole area horizon/motorsport mix drive to ED, try other cars at rentals, and of course the drive to Adenau and places like the boulevard...I guess we just have do it for real instead can't wait to get going again 👍
see you there then ;) just waiting for it to open, card is ready lol - Rene

I totally think the best Nordschleife we have is in GT7
On consoles I think I agree. On PC, I still feel like the most realistic feeling in terms of track surface I get out of rFactor 2 which was build on a 2018 scan of the track (before someone brings it up, yes I worked there at the time so I am probably also biased). But that one features all the bumps etc. and come across the steering wheel like I feel them in rL. But GT7 defo wins everywehere so far in terms of the look of the track. Absolute dream. - Rene

"built from the ground up" btw absolute scam of a game

Really excellent video, Rene! T10 might as well just go ahead and publish in their newsletters - "Hey guys, we're running a business here, we want as many new customers as possible, if you're looking for an accurate sim experience please go away, we want casual users on controllers and of course they're going to be bashing and crashing like children. Because they are! So get over it."
Just ignore the snide negative remarks from some of the viewers - I think it's less about you and more about the overall anger and disappointment about the game and the toxic atmosphere that has developed among the players.

I love how the game feels personally. Very lack luster of content yes, it should have had more than what it did for sure. And of how the models aren’t the way they promised, being rescanned and made to look better. Some cars look good but some don’t look good. I am and I am not disappointed with the game. It’s a very mixed bag for me but I don’t downright hate it like the others do.

Hey there, the "messenger" as in Turn10/Microsoft? I worked with them for quite a while back then on the Forza Racing Championship, so I am defo not a franchise hater XD It also depends on what "a very good job" means. Do I think they created a beautiful track with nice graphics and a cool atmosphere? Yes, they did :) is it fun to drive? Hell yeah. Is it absolutely down on every detail of the track? No, does it have to? Probably also no (altho that is clearly for everyone to decide for themselves). I obviously love the nordschleife, thats why I moved there and drive it basically whenever it is open.. so I might be a bit more likely to critique certain elements that feel different. But that doesn´t make it a bad release and I hope it came across that way in the video (as in that I enjoyed it even tho there are a few points that might not be as crazy detailed as in other sims).
