I really think formula Mazda deserves a permanent hopper, some of the best racing I’ve ever experienced in a game. They should also add a formula 3 style car for a future hopper

The f3 and f4 are such underrated categories outside of full on sims. They match a good balance between heavy road cars and crazy grip monsters and are so fun to drive.

Can only agree with the video title, I've put quite a few hours into the formula mazda hopper myself!
when you get a good bunch of folk all running stock/default settings and on different strategy & fuel loads it makes every lap so entertaining!
we were racing Grand Oak reverse one time & we were almost 3-wide for 2 whole laps only exchanging on the straights or if someone took a lunge! it's brilliant!

Today I raced almost 5 hours the open C Class series and man it was fun! Starting with a low car and gaining experience with the car and leveling it step by step is such a great concept. I loved it

Judging by both the graphics and car movement, it is a lot closer to mario kart than an actual sim.

After having played a game with those: (Super smash bros ultimate online) I can say they definitely shouldn’t.
Would be cool but it's the direction so many multiplayer games have gone down, getting rid of lobbies and social features.
@@P-IN-JPThat's an issue with your pc, either lack of RAM or the game on a slower drive rather than an SSD. You can solve that by turning track textures to low, at which point it'll still look better than a lot of games out there, lol
the Formula Mazda hopper was an extremely fun one. with the right wheel FFB settings it felt natural, sorta like a really grippy and fast shifter kart. and a lot of the lobbies I was in with that car were very clean, and very competitive. i'll always love my Viper and TA Challenger in the Forza GT hoppers but the Formula Mazda was by far some of the best racing i've had on Forza.

This has been my favorite race so far. I've had the most clean and fun races in this race
I really like the C class hopper because of the cars around that bracket. Older BMWs, Miatas, lots of other Japanese cars, and sometimes a sprinkle of something else.
I still struggle to find the best cars around that PI, but it's fun having so many choices.
Not so fun are the shameless rammers that shouldn't be in S safety rating lobbies, but they're there nonetheless. Seems like both the skill AND safety ratings need some work to group up more similar players more reliably.
I've been enjoying them for this reason too. Cool to see so many different cars on track, it's like everyone's taking their project car to the track

Been having great fun with this game. I was hoping very much to like it and it delivered. I had a blast with Spotlight series with Porsche GT3 RS. Slowly built it and tuned it myself, won last 3 out of 4 races. Always hated Nurburgring GP circuit for being too technical but after tuning the Porsche and winning it 2 times I quite like it now.
Keep in mind that in Spec racing you can still tune the car and it can make MASSIVE difference.
Keep u pthe Forza Content.. I used to play so much grand turismo when i was younger.. Im around your age... And I havent had a racing game in years.. I really hate myself for not playing them But I got Forza through the EA Game Pass.. Im on PC now... And I wish I could Play Grand turismo but i do not have a PS5... This game has revitalized my racing game expeirance as my dad is a crew chief in IMSA... Seeing the tracks and cars is amazing as I have worked with him at times on race day.. Keep it up!!!!!
I really liked the Civic series that they had for the introductory multiplayer ranked hopper. Thought this was extremely fun and found a LOT of people driving hard, making mistakes in a good way and learning off of that and following and adapting lines of other drivers.
Found more people looking to push than seeing red and just pushing to find blood and achieve their win when they are frustrated they cant keep up.
you can still join that hopper even after you do your 3 races
I’ve noticed and am surprised I don’t see it mentioned more, but there seems to be an issue with “hit boxes” in FM. Even in career you can see a detected collision when there’s still inches of space between the cars. Though you won’t feel the impact until you actually see the contact. Very weird.

At turn 1 you can take the turn through the pit exit, which allows you to carry *a lot* more speed through the corner. The game considers it part of the race track, so it’s a clean lap/ no penalty.
So happy to see you enjoying the Formula Mazda, Super GT, a friend of mine and I spent over 6 hours tuning that car and absolutely fell in love with the car. Great Racing!

I found Formula Mazda to be absolutely chaotic. Knocked my safety rating from S down to B. That said, when the racing was clean, it was intense
I love the Toring car hopper. Made some good friends. The multiplayer aspect of the game is greatly improved over FM7. I hope they add races that require a mandatory tire change. So far the strat has been no stop.
The formula Mazda has been my favorite series so far, I did an intense session on Suzuka in the wet and it had me full out palms sweaty pushing 9/10s

Me and my friends from work have been racing these every weekend and we all made our own liveries and its actually super fun.
I had a race in these on grand oak reverse where I stuck with the hards all race compared to others on the mediums. I went from 21st all the way to 2nd. It was very satisfying and probably my best forza race ever.
It's a shame Forza hasn't introduced vr support. These close races would be fantastic in vr
The Xbox doesn't support VR so I don't think that they will add it for PC. But it would be awesome

The fact that Xbox hasn't gotten into VR AT ALL makes me want to go get a PS5 and GT tbh. Their excuse is that the tech isn't there yet lmfao yeah okay. They want to make a Triple A game out of it. I don't want that. I just want to have VR support for Halo and Forza.

@@itskaspahoe7161 I had the PS5 and VR in my cart ready to push the button but I just couldn't justify it because I already have a PC setup that I rarely use. Would love if MS could join VR so I could play something more casual online than iRacing.

Lately I’ve been enjoying the Touring hopper, using the Levorg even though it’s definitely not the best and seeing how many I can pass starting from the back.
I am also a Levorg enjoyer. It's a tough situation, but I think it's the most agile car, being the only RWD and it's also by far the best on tyres - the touring hopper on 'Short' races it excels on Mediums in the final laps when the rest of the cars have burnt up the fronts.

My favorite event has been the touring cars. The GT series is cool, but the races always feel too short for cars that quick.
I hope they bring it back sometime, although I'm also enjoying the Early LMP hopper.

The game looks great here, it’s so inconsistent with visuals but when you get a newer track with the right time of day the game looks fantastic
I think the game looks great in most scenarios. Sunsets are generally prettier than most other weather conditions.
the inconsistent visuals is because the game is changing graphics settings as you play, by default. You can always change that in the settings!
hey for turn 1 at mid ohio, you can cut across into the pitlane and it’s still considered part of the track

I have been to mid ohio several times and have wished for years for it to be in a motorsport game. I have to say though I really hope they add the layout with the chicane before the keyhole (180 degree turn at the end of the first straight) to multiplayer. This chicane is in iracing and you can nearly take it flat out just with a slight lift.

I LOVE formula Mazda. It's the most fun I've had in Forza in a while. It's unfortunate that the no-stopper is the meta strategy, but I've had some great races either way. Spec series is the way to go in this multiplayer format where upgrades are disallowed.
I'm surprised to see you racing from that camera view although you have no issue with getting 10's on the segment scores. Great video.

Nice racing. I think I'll have to give this game a try. From when I raced Skip Barber at The Glen back in the day I can tell you for sure they'd race when it's that foggy.
I do like this new hopper concept, but the old school forza player in me misses the permanent class hoppers, some of the most fun races ive had were in these, i feel like they deserve a place in multiplayer too
I used to be like that, in FM4 i would constantly race A class. But what i do like about this is that it's got me racing in C class with the current hopper and i've even tuned a bunch of C class cars, cars i would never have tried before, and loving it!

Love the game even tho there are bugs. They should however focus on endurance races with more then 6-8 laps, so that pit strategy and tire choice comes in to play.

Yh i agree, i think they will in time. It's an obvious thing to add to the game, they prob just getting a feel for what would be the most popular class/type of car for these endurance races. They will also want the game to be in as stable of a condition after a couple of updates, it will be very annoying if the game crashes when you're in an endurance race.

This game is not nearly as bad online than people are making it out to be. I'd say 8 out of 10 lobbies are clean.

You should take a look into the way that IRL Formula drivers take those longer turns. It looks like you're usually trying to follow the so-called "ideal curve" through the longer turns, especially through the second and last turns of this track, but that's apparently not optimal for Formula racing. Formula drivers will usually brake a little later than you would think on the turn and then turn into the rest of the curve more aggressively to try to follow mostly straight lines of acceleration throughout the middle and exit of the curve. Following the "ideal curve" gives a better "constant" speed throughout those big curves, but the way Formula drivers do it gives them a higher average speed. There is a pretty good Driver61 video on the topic that came out a few weeks back that goes into better detail about it if you're curious.

This week my favorite hopper has been the c class hopper. I suuped up the 09 s2000 and it is so fun to drive again the older c class cars. Still gives good enough speed but with obtainable cars

Tatuus FA-01 is pretty big on AC so no surprise to see a similar liking to these, does produce some good racing!
Wished GT7 had more type of races like this (and touring cars etc)in their sport mode. I love playing online but they do over rely on GR3/4 cars. Despite the myriad of issues Forza M seems to have, really considering picking up an Xbox to play this.
If i'm being honest with you, the issues the game has have been far blown out the water. There are issues but nowhere near what people say about it online. It's a great game and prob my favourite Forza game and i've been playing since FM2.

About the netcode "excuse": Earlier in the video the contact that wasn't a contact on your screen proves that it isn't as much of an excuse. Also I've not played a single Forza game with good netcode. The netcode of Horizon 4 and 5 sucks, I used to race a lot with friends and we would regularly get angry at each other for running wide into corners and crashing into the other person, when in actuality it was just the netcode.
That's netcode on slower connections, it's much less of an issue on faster connections
@@edwardking9359 I have a perfectly fine internet connection. Forza is the only game experiencing these issues. I've already played a lot other online games and never had such issues consistently over every single gaming session.
Edit: I just remembered that's not entirely true. GTA Online had/has similar issues, but GTA Online is GTA Online.

had some fun in the touring series for a bit and also the current LPM series, however GT series will always be number 1 when it comes to the cars plus level of competition
Love the content Steve! Will try the formula hopper soon! Game is enjoyable when it works. Lots of issues with loading and inbetween loading screens, sometimes gets stuck on applying tune, waiting for players, waiting for race to start etc.. have to reboot the game. Overall enjoyable.

Touring car lobbys are where it is at TBH. Can get some realy good racing there if you get in to a good lobby.
The Formula Mazda lobbies were super fun and I had some of my best reces there.
Also if you want a challenge for an Online race, you should try and win a GT lobby with the BMW M6 as its definitely the worst car, or one of the worst cars in the catagory and Ive never seen anyone driving it other than myself.
really appreciate the recreation of Mid-Ohio in this game. We go and watch the Indy 200 there frequently. Its a great layout
loving the game, playing on wheel and this is the first forza i don’t think playing on the wheel is a disadvantage, will say the gt cars without tuning are kinda hard to control on wheel, once you tune the car though they drive a lot better!
The ffb and details through the wheel are so damn good in this game. Only reason I'm still playing it to be honest

pick up a cheap controller if you can, mate. Having analog input gives you so much more control, and it feels a lot nicer to drive!

ive found with the formula mazda that there's a strange hitbox collision happening with the front aero and the wing. the wing is up high enough for the aero to go under, but the hitboxes collide
Im having incredible races now on LMP series, everyone racing clean, slow drivers letting me pass with a lot of space, top 5 drivers racing for 5 laps with 0 contact, having a blast on forza mp
I think in the last race, the others had softer tyres so their pace dropped hard on the last laps

How is the tire wear modeled? Is it like fuel where it goes down a certain amount per lap or does it also depend on how you drive? I'm thinking about getting this, but need to buy a xbox series x or s.

Tire wear depends on how you drive.
You can stretch your tyres longer with smoother driving, or push your car harder if you've got enough tyre left on the last lap or two, etc.

Yet another banger video. Would you ever consider making a video about how to practice without the driving line? I find that’s the biggest hang up I’m having with the game!
I'm working on the same thing. I'm at full simulation settings after weaning myself off auto transmission, ABS and TCS from older forza games. But I still have the braking line on as it just takes too long to memorise every braking point for every track for each car. I'd love to get over that last hurdle but it's tough!
I know you said you like forza on the controller but I think it would be fun to see you do some online matches with the wheel on this game. once you get some settings changed the wheel doesn't feel to bad and the safety and driver rating might actually make the races pretty good. I don't have a PlayStation so I always watched your GT videos in envy but hood cam with a wheel on this game has filled a void for me and I would love to see what you think experience wise compared to GT
I kinda stopped watching his Forza videos because I can't get past him using a controller. Nothing wrong with using a controller I did nearly my whole life but the past few years I've been using my fanatec wheel I can't go back or even car to watch controller racing. I really do not understand why he will race GT on a wheel but won't on this new Forza? Having played GT7 since release and all the other big name sim racers on pc Forza is higher up there with their ffb. GT7 had lousy ffb for quite a while actually. Bad enough I stopped playing for a long while until the update a few months ago finally made it decent. The cars in GT7 still feel kinda lifeless. I think it's the tire model. It feels like they are plastic? Idk how to explain. While I will always absolutely love iracings ffb and I think it has the best ffb for any sim game available, Forza Motorpsort ffb really isn't that far off. Just running practice laps on mid Ohio in the 2018 gt2 rs and a 2016 Viper acr and the handling is so blatantly different between the two cars it's incredible. Never felt that huge of a driving difference in GT7 switching between rear engine, front engine or mid engine vehicles. I feel like SuperGT is really missing out only playing Forza on controller. I know regardless what he says he is a Sony boy and GT contributor at heart so part of me feels like he won't switch to wheel because he wants to keep the image of Forza not being as "sim" as GT. Even though Forza ffb blows GT7 out of the water. I have the exact same wheel setup as SuperGT so I know he can find a freat tune on the fanatec labs like I did. Nothing is stopping him. Bit disappointing honestly.
