Perhaps the best explanation of filter context and the CALCULATE function I have seen. I do wonder if you should have touched on the concept of "filter columns , not tables" as this is a major cause performance issue when using CALCULATE.
Your channel is one great resource. Please help - I have a report for Shipped Qty and Billed Qty. I want to add a column that will show the text "Shipped not Billed" for the items that are shipped but not billed. What would be the best measure for this? Thanks in advance!
Any chance we can a similar lesson using medical data? I constantly get duplicated lines when seeking the last visit date using specific medical codes. End result is the last date per facility, clinician or insurance where I actually want the last date regardless of where, who or what carrier was used. All help is appreciated!
Sir, Where is this video did you explain the basics of filter context may I ask? I suggest to change the title to something like “All(), Allexcept() Allselected().
Hi Peter. My goal was to explain the basics of filter context in regards to active relationships between tables and how those will dynamically change your measure values. Thank you for the feedback.
Terrible explanation of ALLSELECT and pretty lame explanation of filter context in general. Just throwing up examples and saying some stuff that isn't really well thought out. A well made video should be scripted ahead of time.
I really appreciate Pragmatic Works. You guys provide high quality lessons.
Thank you! Glad you enjoy them.
