A few years ago a stock 300c SRT ran a 12.99@110mph bone stock. When you consider the weight of that car, a pretty impressive time I thought. I got my wife one the next week. It's huge inside & it's really quick for such a big car.
if they raced from a stand still thats what the 300 would have done was stand still, the GTR has 100 times more grip in the hole shot. This did make it fair though, I can appriciate the way they did it.

First of all, its his money. He can "waste" it on what ever he wants. Second, the 300 has a Hemi in it which in the great world of auto racing is the power maker. Look at top fuel drag racing for instance. They are the fastest cars on the planet (outside of a jet powered car) and they all use the HEMI design on their cylinder heads. and third and foremost, an automatic transmission out performs any manual any day of the week. a auto can shift from 1-2 or 2-3 or 3-4 or 4-5 gears in just 0.025 sec
Only the black edition. Both the premium and black edition are the same car. The black edition only adds wheels, a wing and interior option. The performance is the same. The ZR1 is not that great beyond bolt ons, thats why you hardly see any 1000whp ZR1s, but you see a ton of 1000whp Z06's. Yeah the ZR1 is fast but it's inconsistent and that's why it's not the street king. A ZR1 isn't a drag car either.
Wow I love it how people on here talk so much crap. Ok so it was not a race from a dig. Like what the other guy said its from a 40 or 50mph roll then race. We put the estimated HP on the windows to match different cars with similar HP to see how they would hold up in a race. I know both drivers and yes both cars are heavily modded and great drivers. And to the guy that said the GTR sounds like crap, the exhaust note on this GTR sounds fucking amazing in person. lol :)
None of the vehicles I own are on blocks..... nice try though. I build my own..... not like some who have a machine shop do it and then claim they built it. Only reason I'd go there is to have the crankshaft balanced or an engine hot tanked. Every car company has their props..... I am just for GM

They are impressive. This one would be a few hundred pounds heavier then the GTR. The 300c is one of the only American Cars I like. It is fast as hell, would be faster if Chrysler made it a bit smaller.

You obviously don't know much about cars, or are seriously lacking a firm grasp on the English language. For starters the 300c SRT8 has a 392 in it or better known as a 6.4 liter engine. The econobox baseline civic contains a 1.8 liter engine that is for the daily commute, and the Si holds a 2.0 liter. Quadruple that would be anywhere from a 7.2 liter engine to a staggering 8.0 liter engine. Furthermore a Corvette Z06 holds a 7.0 liter LS7 blowing away the SRT8. Knowledge has been dropped.
There are a lot of cars better than GTR, it's a poor man's supercar, it's not built solid at all, extremely plasticy, and Viper ACR, did you also know that tracks aren't always straightaways? ACR Viper has the fastest track time on Nurburgring for a stock street legal car? GTR is Tenth or Eleventh on that list. That is unless the times have changed and there's been other cars with better times, but that's just putting GTR lower, lol. Not the best.

You do realize that the start has nothing to do with the race right? They get to speed before the cones then lay into it once they pass them. And the comment about still seeing the Chrysler. 2 things. 1 The black Chrysler is much more noticeable against the back drop of tan and 2 its on the side with the camera, Meaning you don't have to look through a dust cloud to see it.
Take awd away from the nissan or lambo or any other high dollar sports car and then it would be an awsome race. Its great to see that a rear drive car comes close or even beats an awd car. Same can be said about nearly anything. Why do people tune SRT8 Jeeps??? Or almost any of the dodge line up. 300 has teh same aerodynamics as a charger. Fact is 300c and 300 srt8s got some grunt to them. A car with a lil bit of power that also as practicality is a plus. So if you got the option to make it a bit faster(tuning) AND keep the practicality of the car then why not?
um im sorry that was pathetic from both and im a mopar guy, no rpm drop? i mean a 300c srt 8 runs 12.9 the gtr runs 11.6 so with a chip better tires and lowering of the 300 c by 2" it runs 11.6 and nitrous on it and it has trouble keeping up. good example of bad tuning. 2005 Ram Daytona Hennessy Twin turbo 25psi 5" drop on nitto 555r no nitrous running 9.82......

I wouldnt put it on my personal car cause you have to constantly rebuild melted engines with nos but otherwise i dont see it any different from other performance upgrades.

I have a 03 Acura tl type s and a 05 magnum rt. My tl is surprisingly faster 0-40 then after that is all magnum. But my tl is 100x more dependable. You don't even know how many time that this stalled on me. American cars are a money damn money pit. Only get American cars to go to the club and look good and don't commute with them!

There have been modified GT-Rs known to be able to get 0-60mph in about 2.5 seconds, yes the 911 turbo s is quicker whilst stock, but mod the GT-R to match the price of a Turbo S, and it will be up against sometime much quicker.

You can tell the GT-R shifted early into second gear, listen to the rpm difference. Either he doesn't know how to drive or he was toying with him. Otherwise yes, waste of my time.

Based on the dust the wind is out of the southeast and the VW Bug took the win.
probably 1/2 mile - 1 mile race. they only get to 60mph until that orange cone then you hear them both get on the throttle hard. typical way those events are ran.
if youre going to tune a car i dont see why he would chose a 300, no aerodynamics, its heavy and its auto, seems like a waste of whatever money he put into it

do you seriously think they were both launching at the start? you can clearly see the cone at which point they hit the gas. rolling start to save the transmission
Yeah boy we gonna drag a 300c vs a GTR! but not really we are going to wait all the way until 1:25 sec into the 1:48 sec video to drive off and be slow at that!
they did a rolling start to compensate for the gt-r ease off the line, what with it's awd...but that kind of defeats the purpose. unless they're just curious lol
