Have you ever caught the same fish twice???
Yes I have 😆 glad you had a great day and congrats on the 7th place finish
Only in the pond that I have found that no one else knows about. That was truly spectacular that you caught that big old bass twice!
Thank you!
@k koonce I know!!! I'm lucky!
Last year I caught the same Bass 3 times in about 40 mins,I was blown away,I believe I kept casting on a bed in about 7 feet of water 😂🤣
one word: IMPRESSIVE , I want a day like yours
Thank you!! Come to Florida and we'll go fishing!!
OLA, I love your videos! You are one of the most genuine UA-cam fisherman out there, and I love that you constantly keep your fans up to date with what your fishing with and just rockin it out there! Keep doing what you’re doing!!

Yes sir. That's why I love this place! Thanks for watching.
You know that when your first fish is an accident that you've already had a good day.
I know!! Off to a good start! And it wasn't a dink either!
I did that once with a redfish on a fly. I was just stripping line off the reel to make the first cast and he hit it. If I recall, that was about it for the day though.
Wow! That was a Fabulous day. Those were some big bass. Nice upgrades Congrats.
Thank you. That's such a great fishery.
Wow, 30 fish! Awesome day OLA. I've caught the same monster bluegill in a pond on consecutive afternoons, but not back to back casts. Crazy. Great video.
Thank you Pee Wee! Days like this are so much fun! It was non stop action!
nice big ol’ bass .... what a day out
They were hungry for sure!! Thanks for watching.
Ooooh La La! Great job I 👀 You with some last minute heroics. 👏🏾👏🏾 see what happens when you don't forget the good luck jingle! 😜👍🏾

@@OldLadyAngler I hate it too because I don't sound as good without you! 😜👍🏾
Thank you for letting Manuel and I have this great experience in this great place. Without you guidance in this new waters for us it would have been impossible this amazing day. Thank you very much OLA!

My honor!
Looks like you had a lot of action there OLA! Another great video! Shoot Yeah!

Hi T. That was a really good day and very interesting. Good up-grades, a "double caught" fish and you caught your first fish without even trying. I knew you were good! Thanks, Mickey
Hahahaha! Thanks Mickey. The fish at Fellsmere are very helpful!
Hi T. I'm glad you had fun at your favorite lake. Take care, Mickey

@@OldLadyAngler haven't yet. Its definitely on this year's trips!
Awesome day !
It sure was. Had a blast. Thanks for watching.
That has happened to me twice . Mostly with redfish. One day me and CC hooked the same redfish. The kicker was he was 20 pounds . You caught some chunks !
Wow! That seems even LESS likely to happen! Thanks for watching!
Old Lady Angler If you got time check out the Dd I got . I have a a couple of good trips out . Rather be lucky than good ! Lol 😂
@@HOOKEMINTHEMOUTHKAYAKFISHING Oh I already have Charles!! Believe me!! I just haven't made my comment yet!! I still need to watch CC's video of it too! Well done Sir!!

Awe thanks SO much Robby. I really do enjoy making the videos. Been a hobby of mine for a loooong time! And it was just awesome of Chad to give my channel a boost. He's a cool dude!! Stay tuned for more fishing adventures!
You go girl
Thank ya thank ya!!
what a fricken day! 😍
Hardly ever have a bad day at this fishery! Thanks for watching.
@@OldLadyAngler I wish I could say the same about my location lol
Great job Tracy! That's a fantastic day of bass fishing with artificial lures.......in anyone's book. I can't recall ever catching the same bass twice in the same outing. ( I've caught 2 bass at the same time on the same lure several times over the years, and jack crevalle in salt water too. ) But I have caught bass that had someone else's hook & broken line still in their mouth a few times. Most of those fish were gut hooked, and the fish were fat, healthy and eager to bite.....again, lol. None of those were hooked on the same day though. Caught a couple like that, where the previous hook was rusted down to a nub, and I was able to pull it right out with a slight tug. There is the popular story, witnessed by several other boats/anglers some years ago in the south end of Farm 13. The late guide, Hugh Crumpler, had a client catch a huge bass just shy of 13 lbs on a live shiner. Of course they weighed, measured, snapped a few pictures & released it, and caught that same fish again, within a half hour or so in the same area. They decided to move to a different spot after that.....lol. ( Almost seemed like "they were disappointed" to catch the same giant bass twice in a row......lol. )
Thanks Steve. The funny thing is.... my hook was not in the fishes mouth. The other end of the broken fishing line was. Just bizarre. But I'm SO happy I got a second chance.
@@OldLadyAngler Yeah, I noticed in the video that the hook was dangling in mid air. Did ya happen to notice if the line passed through its gill opening? Sometimes when they break the line like that, the line itself can be sucked in and expelled through their gill, and maybe if they are able to get the hook loose, the line is still running in their mouth & out the gill. Just a wild guess. I've read that somewhere. Either way, that is odd.
@@howabouthetruth2157 you know what.... I bet you're right. That makes sense. I couldn't see exactly where it was coming from... but it definitely was attached to the fish somehow.
@@OldLadyAngler May be. Unless that braid was stuck in those brushy, rough teeth? Seems like the line sucked in through the gills would be more likely though. Hey, maybe he was using your line to floss his teeth? ;o) (Yeah I know, I'm such a goof, lol. )
hahahaha!!
Nice Fish! Sounds like another great day! I need to make the drive over there soon.
Thank you. Every Bass fisherman should experience this place!!
Do they have a place to launch a bass tracker or is it hand launch only?
It's hand launch from a muddy bank. Paddle craft ONLY. They're supposed to be building a boat ramp for the bass boat guys... but no signs of construction yet.
Got you. Thanks for letting me know!
Nice video 👍
Thank you
Send some fish to us over here in Texas! Nice video Ola
Which lake do want them delivered to?? Thanks so much for watching!
Another admirable-exciting OLA Adventure my dear! That reservoir looks masssive! Do reveal it's maximum depth & which lb test braid you're most comfortable with.
It is massive. In total, 10,000 acres. But we're only allowed to fish about half of it. The deepest areas are in the main canals and I've seen depths of up to 13 feet. There are also ditches that are 4 to 6 feet deep. I think the rest of the reservoir is probably 1 to 4 feet deep. I use 15 # braid on my spinning rods and 20 & 50 # on my baitcasters.
@@OldLadyAngler Thanks for that info dear *Woman Angler* I prefer the very same. I've had my most success here.~ jamescitycountyva.gov/DocumentCenter/View/9016/Little-Creek-Reservoir-Park-Brochure-PDF?bidId= where it's quit a tad deeper yet so challenging for myself. Tight Lines & Mucho Congrats~!
Your place looks amazing!!
😎👍🎣
Thanks Joe!
Some great fish caught. These fish are not to wise to this fishing stuff yet so they will come back and hit your baits again. The water is horrible on that west side down south, I'm not thinking its the pollen as some are saying but hope it clears. Great job hanging up there in your tourney, hard to compete with the boys that live in there.
Ya know.... I agree with you... I don't think it's pollen. It's had that green murkiness for a long time now. And mostly in that western / southern section. I don't remember this at all last year. I don't remember this many giant tilapia either.
Great video, that was a big fish after losing it earlier. Fishing from Shore I once caught a bass, while pulling it out of the water my line brakes and the fish swims off with my super fluke and my new hook I just bought. (You know how expensive good hooks are). I took a cast to the exact same spot, caught the same fish and got my fluke back. 17 days and counting. Can't wait to come to Florida. I just hope Stick Marsh produces. If not it's still better than the snow we got here in the Northeast
Yep... that sounds just like my catch (re-catch). Bizarre. We're in a little bit of a cold snap right now but in 2 weeks, it should be back to warm. Should be good fishing weather for you. Will you be fishing out of a boat at Stick Marsh?
@@OldLadyAngler yes my friend is trailering his 18 and a half foot bass tracker down. I'm flying, he will meet me at Vero Beach. I hope he makes it. Lol. We are also looking to try other spots like lake Kissimmee,, he would like to try Blue Cypress Lake. But I haven't heard any talk about how the fishing is at Blue Cypress Lake. Or if there is a boat launch. Do you have any info on that.
Yeah there's a boat launch by the fish camp. I haven't heard a lot about the fishing there this year. It used to be pretty good. Your best bet would be to borrow a kayak or canoe and hit Fellsmere Reservoir.
@@OldLadyAngler I do kayak here at home. Like yourself, I'm in really good shape I do a lot of hiking and mountain climbing. My friend with the boat is 69 years old in terrible shape and smokes. I'm always yelling at him to quit smoking. But people never listen.
@@outdoorguy845 Oh that's too bad. :(
Where's my pic? Don't forget Bob. Good day with the snakeheads at Markham Park. Good eating.
You're in the picture at 00:12 the beginning of the video!!
That is insane that you caught the fish you broke off on! Did you get the swimbait back too? Haha great day on the water. I’ll just be here crying
I saw the swimbait when I was netting the fish. It was on FIRE! Can't wait to go back. That place is a drug!!
'First fish of the daaayy' love it...great first one with that Jack Hammer. Can't go wrong with that chatterbait. Interesting it looks like you were throwing it on a spinning rod. Any particular reason why? That was a MONSTER BASS as well. Agree that fish looked bigger than 5lbs. I was thinking over 6lb for sure. You were on fire. I feel like this should have been a 2 part deal. I would have loved to seen the other catches.
Thank you for watching. Actually, I was using my Shimano Curado DC 151 baitcaster reel & St. Croix Avid X M/F rod combo to throw that Jack Hammer. Yes... the bass in this reservoir ALWAYS look bigger than they actually are. They're super fat and strong. I have a few videos from last year that show ALL the catches. It tends to get redundant though. And maybe even a bit boring after you catch 2 giants! haha.
@@OldLadyAngler Gotcha ok that makes sense. Keep up the great work👍😊
Yeah OLA I'm shaking here too. Must be because it's 20 degrees lol. You Florida fishing folks have an almost unfair advantage especially this time of year lol
Haha. No doubt about that. It's very unfair to the other 49 states!!!
waoo thank you for these videos this place is 15 minutes from my house I am new in florida
Based on what I see.... you are 15 minutes from MANY great fishing areas!!
Another great video....is the center canal the one down by the pump house?
Thank you Jon. No.... the canal by the pump house (running west to east) is the South Canal. The center canal runs parallel to the West Canal. Hope this makes sense.
@@OldLadyAngler thanks for the clarification.....how do you get to it with all the heavy vegetation?
@@mrhughes9961 Right now... the vegetation is not so bad. There are "ditches" that run from west canal to center canal and they're almost totally clear. They're spaced apart ... every quarter mile. Since I use a peddle drive kayak, I try to stay in those ditches as much as I can. There is a lot of sporadic hydrilla everywhere in the reservoir. You can paddle through it with no problems right now. Once summer hits and that water warms up..... it becomes HELL.
Nice video 🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝😉😉😉😉
Thank you!
Exciting video, OLA! Do you use a fluorocarbon leader? I thought I saw the knot connecting the leader to your braid. If you do use a fluoro leader, what knot do you use to connect your braid and leader?
Thanks Robert. Yes I use Sunline 16# flouro leader .... secured with an FG knot.
@@OldLadyAngler Thank you for the quick response! I plan to use the Seaguar Blue Label flouro. I have tried to learn the FG knot but it just hasn't worked for me. I am able to tie the Alberto Knot, the Crazy Alberto Knot, but I may give the FG another try.
@@roberthopper7325 I use the method that Salt Strong shows... where you put the braid in your mouth. I saw another video today that shows an alternate method. Here's the link. Maybe it'll work better for you: ua-cam.com/video/qG7haYfDRkA/v-deo.html
Nice Video!
thank you
@@OldLadyAngler I always figured it would be cool to get a kayak but I can't seem to find one for my size lol love the GIANT bass and editing!
Kayak fishing is so much fun. Maybe Hobie makes a big enough kayak for you?
@@OldLadyAngler working on the weight issue now (was 300) but being 6'7" is usually my issue I have wondered about those would be cool to have the pedal action too
Wow you're tall!! I bet a Hobie pro Angler would work for you. The pedal drive is a game changer! I'll never go back to paddle.
Hi OLA hope all is well
It is. Thank you. Heading back to FL now.
Do you think they will allow the use of trolling motors when the boat ramp is built? Brian Bickhaus
Oh heck yes. Once the ramp's done, it's open to regular boats! It'll be packed with bass boats for sure!
That'll surely change the dynamic of Fellsmere. And probably not in a good way.
I wish they'd leave it as paddle craft only... but that'll never happen.
Hey OLA, do you always go down to the southern end of fellsmere or are there equally productive areas that you have fished. Heading out there on the 12th or 13th and I struggled there last month. It was the same day that you didn't do well. Thanks
I usually hit that west canal (just south of the indian mound). That's where I caught that PB and several other giants. I'll venture east if I don't get bites there. Most days are good but as you experienced.... there are tough days.
@@OldLadyAngler thank you so much for the reply. Hopefully I see you out there.
Question you paddle set up what did you use to push them out a little
Hi Kyle. I use the lunchbox paddle Park kit. They're sold by Chris Parson at his store. www.thekayakfishingstore.com Tell him Tracy sent you.
He can also make the kit so that you can attach a mud stick. Keeps it all nice and neat.
@@OldLadyAngler thank you so much keep up the tight lines
Do you have any idea when the boat ramp will be completed? Brian Bickhaus
They're saying August... but I haven't seen any construction on it yet.
Brian Bickhaus they have no money for it
There is one place better which you haven’t fished yet. We were just down the street fishing at lake Goodwin, by your video you did better than us
But it's closed down!
Hey John, I have a 30 year old Bass Tracker Pan Fisher with no outboard motor, but it does have a foot-controlled trolling motor. I use it to fish farm ponds in South Georgia. I also have a 4-wheel drive to get me back to those ponds. I was thinking I could use this to fish Fellsmere Reservoir. What do you think? brianbickhaus@gmail.com
Trolling motors are not allowed at Fellsmere. Paddle craft only.... until the boat ramp opens up.
What watch is that?
Garmin Foreunner 935
So what I am understanding here is that bass were literally jumping onto your line? Hooking themselves ? I'm so jelly it's hard to even be happy for you, so self-centered! And I'm going to be surrounded by salt water this weekend hanging out with friends for 40 years and I don't even remember how to salt water fish! Way to go OLA I lied I'm very happy for you! Way to represent lady!
Thank you kk!! Yeah they were practically jumping into my kayak! It was one of those days! I'm sure your saltwater skills will still be there!!!
Old Lady Angler oh man I was set to go out with a guide in Austin Monday and it's dropping to the 20's! Boooo!
@@kkoonce1372 Oh yeah.... that's not good. Can you postpone it?
Old Lady Angler yep I was able to cancel in time at least. Rescheduled for the 11th so that should be good. Hopefully!
