AO going from The Cadets to Crown reminds me of Michael Jordan when he went from the Bulls to the Wizards
Yeah well the Cadets didn't even place top 3 LOL, I'm pretty sure he rather be with Crown, it was his choice anyways
Justin Choe they got second in drums beating crown
+TheNapkinOfTruth Tom Aungst probly convinced him to march their. It'd be awesome and came back as a tech for crown.
I auditioned for Crown and I asked him why he switched. He said that the Cadets were too set on winning and it wasn't fun. He said he wanted to have a fun age out year.
+Clay Kuglen Bluecoats got 2nd, Cadets got 3rd.
Those shots are SO CRISP!!!!
This was sick, their drum line is so underrated. Will there be a "learn the music" video for this year?
+Ralph Parker Underrated? More like underwhelming.
+Inspadave thanks!
+Inspadave What's so underwhelming about it? I mean, they're certainly not the best drum line, but I just don't really understand why they get so much hate.
Ralph Parker
I can only speak for myself. To me their book is just....there. It is not exciting like Cadets, cool like Blue, or a tightly integrated musical experience like SCV. Sure, the book is functional, it fills in all the blanks, but it does not stay with me when I leave. I also do not care much for their tuning, but that seems to be a Yamaha thing.
+Inspadave Ah, far point, I definitely think it could've been better; but, at least for me, when they play with the rest of the corps they sound way better. Plus they have their own sort of style that I really dig, but to each his own I guess haha
"Sup girl" lol
Adam Smith my fave is the "1, 2, 1 2 3 Travis Peterman"
Wow crowns book has REALLY improved from the past years. One of my favorite books of the year
Y NO DRUM BREAK
+RCRhythms :(
Where can i get this music score
My boy AO
Is it just me or do most Yamaha lines have muddy rolls, except for Bluecoats and Cavies? (Tuning wise)
Might be the head? Idk
+uasuka +Nick Dobbins Any heads with tighter bottoms would sound miles better
Nick Dobbins Nah, Evans heads are too wet. Remo is better because durability and they actually give a drum their true sound. Some of these lines just need to learn how to tune their Remo heads because they're mainly made to be cranked to the max, hence the name, "Remo Black Max". I've dealt with Evans heads before and they make snares wet af, tenors sound like damn tin cans, and basses sound like a southern style bass (which is super duper wet)
alot of the rolls are blended, some snares are over hyping on some things... but for the most part they are blended.
hi mr doughs class
what tenor sticks are those
+ethyl2551 Tom Aungst Hybrids
Wasn't the center snare at the Cadets a year or two ago?
Juan Carlos Mendoza 2012 and 2013
Coldbacongreas Why did he leave? Cadets drums were insane in 2013.
DarthYutsi I guess he took a year off and then auditioned for crown because Tom Aungst, the percussion director for his high school, is caption head for crown this year.
blushda1223 What high school did he go to?
+David LoSardo Dartmouth i think
they use Tom aungst snare sticks correct?
+that guy you know Yeah they use Aungst, but they only started using them this year, they used Thom Hannums before that.
+Willie Burke thanks!!! I've been wanting to know what sticks they use for a while now
I play on these drums now
My Spokane hype right there
How can I belong to Carolina crown drum corp?
@@josemarimbista6752 you gotta go to the audition camps, they post on facebook when they are
Maybe its the sound of the drums but they honestly don't sound that clean for Finals
+Baconator23463 yeah the heads arent that great sounding..
+aPattyson Its because they tuned black max's so low. They're definitely better for high tension tuning.
Those drum slips are sexy
....so they were the cadets this year
Aaahhhh roles so muddy
