+Jarrod Briley I remember shaking hands with you guys at inferno premier in North Carolina, i was from Surry Central High School, we went out to specifically see you guys.
Yasssss!!!! Carolina crown!!!! My band director used to be in crown and he really enjoyed it! Y'all had a great show this past year! Can't wait to see it this year!!!!
Y'all did great at DCI this summer! I couldn't really hear the contras at the performance, but maybe that's just my brain still not being able to comprehend the shear awesomeness of it. Anyway, it's great to hear this show again!
Great job Jarrod! I have to say, the ballad had an amazing tuba part. You all did so well. My favorite DCI show ever. I was wondering when/if any other players from the corp will post their head cams? Thanks!
my marching band bought the red fabric you guys use for your show and i love how you guys use it and also how we use it its pretty baller. our show is Pandora's box and the fabric represents the evil coming or of the box
Absolutely love this! Great playing and a great show! Seeing as how you're in crown do you have the freedom to tell what the biggest thing to work on to get into crown is? I would love to audition but as can be expected, I'm a bit nervous about the idea of it just because of how great it is and I don't want to miss a chance at being a part of something like this because I happened to not be up to par on something that was uber important.
+Convaris Gaming The biggest thing to think about is that everyone on that field was once a scared kid who thought they wouldn't have a shot. Everything boils down to pure hard work and confidence.
+Jarrod Briley im in highschool and im planning on auditioning for crown. Did you have to buy your horn? Or do they provide it? I dont have much knowledge on the subject.
Have you ever marched with any girl tubas? One of my dreams is to march contra in either Crown, Bluecoats or Phantom, and I don't see many girls out there. :)
Autumn Elizabeth I'm a girl and when I watch if these kinds of videos I find it a little discouraging that there aren't that many girls. If you know any girl marchers mind asking them for some tips? :)
I personally haven't marched with any, but I know plenty of girls that have marched! Being a girl doesn't have anything to do with how hard you can work to be great :)
***** I guess do whatever you feel is best for you. I heard that doing DCI at a young age is better because you get more years of experience. What instrument do you play?
Is marching contra super hard? Like I play trumpet now and I'm switching over to low brass and gonna major in Eupho performance. But I really wanna have fun down in the basement when I March with a corps
Do yall have any former woodwinds in your hornline? I am a clarinet but im learning Contra/Baritone to try and march Carolina Gold next year so i can get good enough at brass to march world class
I've been playing for about 5 years now actually. The best way to develop tone is to play a lot and record yourself and experiment with different things until you find the sound that you like the best. Good luck!
Bro, your tone is straight gorgeous.
+That Guy Thanks!
right in the beginning you hear someone say "hell is a happy place" 😂😂😂
Same thing basically
I have been searching the whole UA-cam for a gopro cam to see what is it look like under the fabric. AWESOME SEASON GUYS!!!
P
That tone in the ballad is so gorgeous
You guys gave me chills every time I saw you this summer. Fantastic job.
Thanks so much!!
+Jarrod Briley I remember shaking hands with you guys at inferno premier in North Carolina, i was from Surry Central High School, we went out to specifically see you guys.
+AmbitiousGamer That's awesome! I'm actually from NC
Your passion is inspirational.
Man this show was beyond perfect, amazing season
Probably the best Carolina Crown Sow this season, absolutely beautiful!
Still one of my favorite shows of all time, and very cool to watch it from your point of view.
this is probably one of the best DCI shows I've ever seen
This is awesome!!! My school is getting these for senior year next year! 😁
Getting contras* lol.
Yasssss!!!! Carolina crown!!!! My band director used to be in crown and he really enjoyed it! Y'all had a great show this past year! Can't wait to see it this year!!!!
You are an absolute beast.
Haha *beast*
Good job Jarrod! Shows me what I missed over the summer.
Is this the only Inferno head cam on UA-cam?!?!?! I would love to see one for each section, but I can never find any!!!!
Y'all did great at DCI this summer! I couldn't really hear the contras at the performance, but maybe that's just my brain still not being able to comprehend the shear awesomeness of it. Anyway, it's great to hear this show again!
Dude your tone is beautiful.
BengalBuckeye16 thank you so much! That Crown sound 😉
Crown's contra section is the best in DCI and I always look forward to seeing you guys.
1:58 such a cool looking shot of that guard member. Chills.
Does anybody know if there is a baritone/euphonium head cam?
awesome man been waiting for a tuba cam!
Great job Jarrod! I have to say, the ballad had an amazing tuba part. You all did so well. My favorite DCI show ever. I was wondering when/if any other players from the corp will post their head cams? Thanks!
Nice cam Jarrod! Wish I could have done one of these head cams with my Corps this year :) You all sound amazing!
The music was bumpin.
my marching band bought the red fabric you guys use for your show and i love how you guys use it and also how we use it its pretty baller. our show is Pandora's box and the fabric represents the evil coming or of the box
?+CherryPI Pandora's box or Pandora's boombox?
+frederick davis Pandora's box
okay just checking because a local high school in my city is doing Pandora's boombox
this is the only head cam vid they have for the 2015 show...
you have a great sound!
5:19 what in the world??
+Aaron Beisiegel That's what happens during the full run at the end of three ridiculously taxing rehearsal days
No it's actually "Out of this World", and I think you're at the wrong video. 😉
Part of fatigue. That's not surprising to any member or staff. It's amazing to compare what you hear from the stands to the field.
@@74laxmani know that one!
So much yes
This is fab!!!
Those visuals look taxing..I can't begin to imagine how difficult it was with a contra
+Spike Rover You have no idea
I love you jarrod
nice...22,000 views and not a single dislike. Impressive
GO CROWN!!!

@@jarrodbrileyeven 7 years after this was posted, reading this makes me realize that I still have a chance to make my dream corps
Crown uses yamaha horns right?
Yeah!
+Jarrod Briley im in highschool and im planning on auditioning for crown. Did you have to buy your horn? Or do they provide it? I dont have much knowledge on the subject.
+Sooperdork They supply you a horn at the camps
TheTubaMaster Oh ok cool. Thanks!

I recently went to a call back camp for crossmen, and a know a girl that got contracted. She could WHIP that contra around.
Two girls on the line for bones this year
yep. I met them when i tried out. I got cut though.
put em' in the coffin.
didn't think i'd see you here lmfao
Yeah I'm a big DCI fan.
So am I, I want to audition for Crown sometime in the near future.
Go for it! I was asked to join the Blue Knights for 2017 by one of the directors. Don't think i wanna go though
***** I guess do whatever you feel is best for you. I heard that doing DCI at a young age is better because you get more years of experience. What instrument do you play?
Never seen someone use 1+2 for high F, strange
LMAO THE GOBLIN NOISES.
Holy hell
Gibran!
Hey how hard is it to march with contras? Cause we need em here bad.
Is marching contra super hard? Like I play trumpet now and I'm switching over to low brass and gonna major in Eupho performance. But I really wanna have fun down in the basement when I March with a corps

Idk about crown but at my corps (troopers) we have like 3 saxophones in our baritone section that are vets and also play lead
Lol.....love it.
first how do you get that sound?
What was the mouthpiece that you were using?
+Nathan Tabaranza We used the custom Crown mouthpieces that they now sell in the CrownStore
How long have you been playing tuba?
i really love ur Tone. any tips to develop such tone?
I've been playing for about 5 years now actually. The best way to develop tone is to play a lot and record yourself and experiment with different things until you find the sound that you like the best. Good luck!
how dod you keep your tone so calm and consistent the whole time? I must know. Im' marching in open class this year btw.
It's all about smooth visual technique and calm breathing ;)
thanks!
I love how many people who march have knee braces... Definitely no connection there or anything.
What does the crown tuba mouthpiece compare to in size?
Extremely similar to the PT-50's we previously used, but just a little more conical and not as deep
Colin TFW I bought one of them for sousaphone and they definitely look badass!
Yo tuba parts are wack. How can you memorize that?!
Scrub
