Hey guys. Link to Amir Nachumi interview: ua-cam.com/video/HeTX9t_AY7Q/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AirUniversity
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm trying something new with a bit of history and reenactment in the new F4 Phantom.
Two lessons in life don't mess with taxes and don't mess with Israeli Pilots
14:42 Yeah, very true, would be nice if the maps were up to date. That being said, I'd like them to start with the Caucuses map first. In particular southern Ukraine, including Crimea. The Sinai map has plenty of detail in contrast.
@@stevensutton2252Also don't touch AMERICAS BOATS.
Amazing video brother this is really great stuff.
Thank you very much brother! glad to hear that
Love your stuff too! You two are really know how to keep us on our toes before each video. Any chance you guys gonna work on Tom Gun 3? 😅
We need more “two idiots” videos
I agree
Is LS taking over the mini docs channel? 😂
You have to wait 4 Potatoes to fire the sparrows. Count in your Head ‘one potato, two potato…‘ it needs time to give the guidance information to the missile
Yes, but even with that, it's no use when the target is too close, the Sparrow needs a few seconds after the shot to set itself up and boost properly.
Jester will count the potatoes for you actually, I've seen him do it in GS' vids
@uberschnilthegreat22 I didn't know it, but that's what I came here for...clear internet winner 🤣
@@uberschnilthegreat22 only if jester locks the target for you i think. Radar auto ACM lock there is no communication from jester
@@uberschnilthegreat22 not every time
Longshot man this is 100% your best Video yet. I love this style of editing and storytelling, the history of it in the beginning was amazing bro!
That is great to hear, thank you
@@LongShotChannel Of course man! you’re doing great work with these videos
Agreed
Man! More like this. Love the small documentary at the beginning. Intense and super entertaining video! Well done!
Thank you very much
Agreed
This is one reenactment I was waiting for. The one big difference between you and the pilots that day was that they immediately burned away from the base, as fast as they could. They wanted as much distance as possible between them and the Migs before turning back to confront them. Once they turned back, they started launching sparrows at the bogeys, switching to sidewinders after they closed into the fur ball. That was the main reason the pilots had to land on the cratered runway, was because they used so much full burning away from the danger.
Per Wiki, Amir Nachumi had 14 kills, 7 in the Phantom, 7 in the Viper. Sick video LS!
He claimes he shot one more in that day (6th of October) and that he crashed into the water, the IAF couldn't confirm that, so he got 4.
I belive him, I think he was made an ace in his 1st dogfight
This was some Ace Combat shit, except you didn't have 200 Fox-2s
I think someone's already said this, but in all the other videos I've seen of the Phantom using the Aim-7, you gotta wait 4 seconds so the data is transferred to the missile
I prefer the WW2 stuff, but dude, this is phuk’n awesome! Absolutely the best one yet. I showed it to my wife’s uncle, Kenneth ‘Hacksaw’ Robertson, Lt. Col.,Ret. USAF (age 92) who is now living with us. He flew the F-4 in Vietnam.
When I showed him this, he couldn’t believe it wasn’t actual footage. He said it was too real. He said your maneuvers were correct and he even mentioned the pilot’s voice sounded authentic, i.e., a little stressed. He said, ‘when the enemy is trying to put a rocket up your ass, you’re stressed.’
I just wanted to let you know a guy that actually flew this aircraft in combat enjoyed your video.
Well done!
That's cool and awesome to hear. Thank you both
History+DCS= Masterpiece
Phantastic LongShot. We need to recognize the real pilot's fuel management prowess. The J79 burns 1000lbs per minutes in Afterburner at low level/sea level. This means 2000lbs a minute in the F-4. 12,000lbs internal fuel means only 5 minutes in AB leaving enough fuel (2000lbs) for take off and landing. The F-4 needs speed to fight, which means lots of throttle/AB. I was wondering if you were going to run out of fuel. Great vid!
The base Is now Sharm El Sheik int Airport
This is so cool! My grandad was an F-4 aircraft mechanic during Vietnam. Robing Olds piloted his aricraft when he shot down 2 Russian Migs
Nice Long Shot. I heard GS voice in my head 9:47 when you said “ too close” his said “jammed the WEZ”. Love you 🥰 guys both. Amazing work and content.
Thank you
Might be my new favorite video of yours, so intense. Great work Longshot!
I'm glad to hear that, thank you
Epic video! Love this historical ones, with the interview and everything. Great job
Thank you very much
"You are flight lead, good luck" feels like some flavor text of an exposition screenshot for a SNES game after pressing Start.
No instructions, and thrown right into the thick of it with no goal other than the hi-score of the "Ace" before you. 😨🥶
Nice video LS and quite thrilling too, imagine more than 20 Migs against 2 F-4 Kurnass, though the enemy have the numerical advantage but as one Israeli pilot said in a documentary I watched before, only one bandit can be at your tail to take a shot at you, while on the other hand you have the luxury of choosing targets because there's a lot of them. I think the Egyptians tried to emulate what the Israeli Air Force did in the 6 day war of 1967 but unfortunately, they were spotted early by IDFs radar and their cover blown.
Great vid. I love the phantom and this era. The historical element worked really well.
Thank you very much, I'm pleaesd to hear that
@@LongShotChannel More videos like this please.
Rad! This would have to be the most intense DCS video I've ever watched. The doco explaining the situation and history beforehand and a pretty accurate re-enactment of the event itself was amazing. Nice work LS!
That is really nice to hear, thank you so much
I feel like this is the fight that Tom Skerritt talks about as Viper to Tom Cruise in the first Top Gun about Maverick's father in Vietnam.
10:10. "4 Mirage came to help".
You mean "four time travelers who got Mirage 2000s" :D ?
Sadly no Mirage 3 in game as well
You work with what you have.
@@LongShotChannel Yes, sadly ! There's a Kfir (derivative from the Mirage III/5) module being developped but seems far from release !
"Ah, my rock and roll records! They're in my room. It took me forever to collect all of those!"
Outstanding video!! Would love to see more videos based on actual events like this one.👍
Thank you very much
Great video, Longshot!
My only criticism is that you should have used the MiG-15 to represent the MiG-17.
That's because the MiG-15 is much closer to the MiG-17 in performance than the MiG-19 is.
As an Israeli my grandpa was an infantry man in the IDF's Golani Brigade. He fought in the Yom Kippur war against the Syrians up in the Golan heights.
My grandpa is now an architect.
I dont know why, but there is something about the Mig 19 that i like. And obviously i love the F4 too. Great video!
Love how you gave us the information and played it out. Amazing
Thank you very much, that's nice to hear
This is sick. Similar to popo medics vids. Both you guys are good channels
Would’ve been neat to see this scenario with 70’s rear-aspect AIM-9J’s instead of 80’s all-aspect AIM-9M’s.
Loved the mini doc before your flight...Good stuff!
Cheers buddy, thank you
I think you fire your sparrows a little too early. At the same time, it was a good thing because you almost shot a friendly.
This was a fun watch! Thanks for putting this together!!
Thank you so much
Absolutely awesome makes me wonder why real documentary’s don’t talk to you guys about making scenes for then instead of the crappy animated ones they go for.
Loved the introduction to the video. Great history lesson.
Thank you
LONGSHOT my man, I like the intro with the vid. Sweeeeet!!!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it
Great video sir. Had my first flight in the F4E today (a childhood favourite airplane of mine) and I have to say it felt like quite a heavy airplane (I am used to flying the F-16C and Jester made a comment about his mustache becoming his eye brows...but we did not break anything...so...
Helluva fight, LongShot. Well done!
Thank you very much buddy
Good Video and re-enactment! Exciting video! Great flying!
Thank you very much
Beautiful video, very intense, great work!!! 👍
Thank you
Great video. Maybe you can repeat it in the future more accurately because a Mig-17 is in the making for DCS.
You and GS need to do a 2 Morons video on the Phantom soon, with the WSO having done as little WSO training as possible (the less training, the more shenanigans).
Yo!!!!!!! We early to this one!!!!!!!! I remember as a kid, I truly enjoyed watching the then Military Wings Channel on TV where I got most of my knowledge from about military aircraft as well as constant research on then dial-up internet
Congrats on the 1st A2A gun kill in the F-4 between you and GS.
Your videos are getting better and better.
Thank you
Love the video intro! Well done! So entertaining and insightful
Thank you
This is as real as the CIA not knowing about MK-Ultra
Awesome video dude was exciting to watch.
14:42 Yeah, very true, would be nice if the maps were up to date. That being said, I'd like them to start with the Caucuses map first. In particular southern Ukraine, including Crimea. The Sinai map has plenty of detail in contrast.
Outstanding mission, confusing furball once you get in it. Probably that's normal for pilots in these engagements IRL. Well done, sir.
Absolutely brilliant work
Just watching that was intense.
Well flown and great video, LS!
Thank you
Great video, this was fantastic.
Thank you
GREAT VIDEO!.
You never fail to impress.
Thank you very much
A really good video, more like this please. Awesome!
What an adrenalin rush LS!!
I like this content LS. Great work!
Good stuff. I really enjoyed this video. Thx
Awesome video Longshot 🔥

Thank you
Perfect!!! Thank you for sharing this great video!!!!
Thank you
Superb Video. Love the combination of information and entertainment. Keep em comming
Thank you very much
Really enjoyed this one. Intense entertainment!
You should do this mission with Growling Sidewinder
Awesome job dude. Thanks for this. 👍🏼
Thank you
Great story and style! I love this type of content.
Having to puncture a Fur ball just to get off the ground ?? Harry flying indeed !!!!!
Amazing as always :D
Thank you
Wow. Great video, buddy
Outstanding LongShot!!
Cheers, thank you
Do a team-up driving the F4 with GS already.
That was fairly awesome re-enacting the Yom Kippur air assault! Unbelievable battle there! That landing at the end was the Chef's Kiss, btw!
Great video LS!
A question, maybe a newbie question - what does "Brah" mean, that Jesters says from time to time?
Thank you for another, as always, great video! 🙂
It's BRA.
Satnd for Bearing, Range, Azimuth
WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Even my feet got sweaty. 😂
That was a great reenactment!
This is worth the price of admission!!!!
Thank you very much
I wish we could set an AI flag to "Scramble" so they don't chill on the runway while under attack. :D :D
Nicely done.
Sierra Hotel!🔥
Well done!
Yo. I mean Dude!!! Wow! Love, love it!
Thank you
Nice one, LS!
AWESOME video !!!
I apprrciate it, thank you
Even got the engine failure 😂
That Was increasable!!
Outstanding.
Amazing vid. Is there any chance that you could share this mission for the rest of us to try?
It is published in my Discord, under mission files
That was awesome... great vid.
Thank you
Listen the video was really good and informative and I enjoyed it, but it kills me to see that you are running all aspect missiles that weren't even a thing in 1973
Like what missiles?
@@LongShotChannel Its hard to tell from the video, but it looks like you are running the AIM-9L which only began entering service in the US in 1976. The IAF had the AIM-9D during the Yom Kippur war which isn't in game, but is very similar to the AIM-9J which is in game. The 9L was a substantial leap forward in technology that allowed IR missile engagement from all aspects something that was not available back then. Don't get me wrong I enjoy this kind of content and enjoy this channel, but using substantially more capable missiles then what was available at the time for historical content just kills me.
👏👏👏👏👏🙌What a video LS! Great job buddy
Thank you
@@LongShotChannel no mention man, keep up the awesome videos coming
Everyone, I introduce to you, The Skinny Electrician!
👏🤩amazing mission!!!
Thank you
I thought it was about Mavericks father 😂
Awesome video
Awesome! 😀
Thank you
Hey LS, random question: What's your nationality? I've been following/subscribed to you for like over a year now, and have been trying to place your accent lol. Just curious, no offense meant.
Craters adjacent to the runway would doubtless have covered the runway with rocks and debris that would be very dangerous to the plane and crew, so you'd want to act like that part of the runway is out of action anyway.
Awesome ❤️
Thank you
