Great job on a thoroughly detailed walk through of a Cat 30, that was one of the best videos of what one should inspect when buying just about any sailboat.
It has a musty smell... _and you're in the desert?_ Not a good sign. It looks like it's going to need quite a bit of work. It's definitely seen better days. But your thoroughness is highly appreciated! I'm subscribed to your channel so I'll keep close watch!
Notes: Windlass is manual not electric. The pinching up of stbd chain plate is normal as there is a through bolt to a deck cover plate above. When you tighten the through- bolt, the gusset gets deformed and pulled up. Chain plates are original (from the bolt pattern which is straight vs. the newer ones which have a staggered bolt pattern), and should be removed and inspected for crevice corrosion /cracks (priority must do..).
What is your hull number I have a 76 hull #203. Why in the world do you have a tiller and a wheel? Any Catalina smile issues with the boat. Looks like you have the small lazerett on the forward port seat. I changed to a diesel and that ended the smelly boat problem
So....the boat was sold before you posted this? That's weird....why even post? 42 mins about a boat that is sold. Just a suggestion next time....advertise, then sell. There were a few more bites as you can see.
10K is what it needs for work/cleanup... That's exactly what people will pay if they are scared of a little work and hire out every single job that needs to be done. You'll add up a ton of money with every single boat you look at if you are unwilling to do any work yourself. Almost every boat on the market needs maintenance, very few people actually take care of their boats, they just use them until their little minds can't comprehend what needs to be done and then they just buy a new one.
@@david78212 that soft cockpit floor is a BIG DEAL. He shrugged it off like no big deal. I would never buy from this dealer. I don’t think they mention the year once in the video

По корпусу ремонта не мерино...
That's not how you pronounce esprit.
Your not a marine surveyor , the boat needs $10,000 worth of maintenance & repair just to leave the slip . Be honest to buyers.
10k is a bit high. It's not that bad
@@BlueYonderYachts you did great. Good catch on the bilge pump. I would’ve bought it based on this video without hesitation at the right price.
Steve C Just curious.. Are you a marine surveyor?
