I’m having fun watching this video. Similar layout to the Bell 222 I have on xplane. Great cockpit view and ATC radio.

Love the view when your flying over the trees. Like the intro and telling me how to start both engines.

Always great to ride along with you mate. Nice bit of casual education in such a great ship. 👍

I love how the collective is right there in a great position and I would like to get my hands on this one and this is what it takes to be a professional helio pilot . Nice flying the Bell 430

Thanks for the comments Bernard! She's definitely a fun ship to fly. You should give helos a try at your local helicopter flight school! If you can fly an R22 or Schweitzer 300, you can fly a 430!

I’m definitely having fun watching your videos and learning a bit for my little simulator flying. Watching you set the collective and pitch for altitude/speed has increased my sim control immensely. I’m now able to hover taxi a virtual UH-1H thanks to that tip. No more over controlling for me. So, thanks!

Wow !! I’m impressed with your skill and talent both as a pilot and a broadcast person.
It’s great to see that now there are two (2) professional pilots in the family. Keep up the good work and send me the videos .

Nice video, good explanations without being too technical. Can you please explain why the coolective is raised prior to start and then lowered when rpm increases. Looking forward to the next vid. Tell Mike we missed him in this one .

Thanks for the comment, I will let him know! The Rotorcraft Flight Manual for the 430 says to raise the collective about a 1 inch during shutdown, then we reverse the process on startup once the blades are turning and hydraulic pressure comes up. It's my understanding that leaving the collective at flat pitch without the rotors turning puts added stress on the shear restraints.
