I’ve been going to Angels games for 49 years and this organization has never been in more disarray. Ohtani wants to win and there is no way he is staying.
Ohtani don’t stay with Angels and the Generation Losers.
As an Angels fan living 10 minutes from the stadium my entire life, I have never been as excited to go to Angels games as I have these last few years with Shohei. I really hope we can win a little and keep him so I can keep enjoying these games with my sons. Watching Ohtani strikeout 11 a night after watching their bullpen walk 10 was wonderful.
Been going to watch every one of his starts recently
Ohtani will leave if ownership don't get act together
Angels fans need to be more vocal toward poor performance like Yankee fans. Angels fans are too nice, so they are getting what they deserve.
@@wilburwood8261 to be fair Angels fans don’t have or feel the entitlement that Yankees fans have. The Yankees as an organization are the most decorated sports team in American history. The angels have never been great in their own history
@Luka Polic This is true. We also protest in different ways. When the Angels are bad, people in and around Orange County have other things they would rather do with their time so they just won't show up. A lot better things to do than just show up to boo an owner that doesn't care anyways
BREAKING: Fan thinks Ohtani should sign to their favorite team🤯

Shohei is 100% going to a team that has a winning history/winning team. If he were to go and win a World Series or two, he would have a strong case for best player ever. That’s hard to pass up if you can become the GOAT.
He will be in that discussion regardless of # of titles.
Ohtani's ultimate goal is to become a hall of famer, according to his comments to Japanese media.
He already has a world title haha
How many new fans would a Shohei acquiring team gain?!
The country of Japan 🤭
@@SownSky Sometimes the best answers are the shortest.
The whole world😂
@@SownSky it would be far more than that. If he goes to a championship contending team, he will skyrocket to a whole other stratosphere than the one he is in already.
God Bless Rich Eisen for covering baseball.
As an Angel fan I am extremely confident he crosses the freeway and plays for the Dodgers next season, they have made their intentions clear. I want him to stay but our team feels cursed
The worst thing that can happen is for him to not get traded and we finish 9 games out of the wild card..... imagine the prospects we can get for him at the deadline....
Yep….you should trade him for the dodgers for a ton of amazing prospects. Better to trade than to let him walk and get nothing
They should trade him and trout to an organization that is interested in winning
Nobody would give up all those prospects unless it was guaranteed ahead of the trade he would sign. Otherwise he becomes a rental. Get real!
I agree partly, if the team he's getting traded can sign him to a long mega term deal I would do it in a heartbeat, with the prospects never know how they gonna turn out as players, but with Ohtani he's a once in a generation player and only 28 years old with the marketing the teams can make, it's like getting Micheal Jordan or Lebron James at their prime.
Not necessarily. If a team can bring him in to ride him into the playoffs why not? All that matters at the end of the season is hoisting the commissioner’s trophy. We’ve seen players get traded at the deadline to go off before free agency.
@@97NikeSb Because certainly no guarantee and if you don't and you gave up your top prospects then your organization will be set back years
@@jamesw5353 teams have always traded guys to get a boost into the postseason. Look at Arizona getting JD Martinez to get into the playoffs, the Braves trading for Soler and Joc to win it all, Houston trading for Verlander, cubs trading for Aroldis, the royals trading for Cueto, and so much more. If you don’t take risks then you’ll always be content and be like the angels and being losers for years
@@97NikeSb Those were established vets and they didn't give up 3 top prospects...maybe 1
The question still remains whether or not, a team is willing to part with so much talent. When Ohtani goes, will Trout want to continue to play for a mediocre team? If I were Trout, I'd want out.
I'd im the Angels, I trade both. Just rebuild the entire team, but build it like the Rays, starting with the pitching
Was not expecting that take from Rich. As an Angels fan I love to hear it but I truly believe this is the most important season for this franchise.. If we win I think he stays. BIG IF. GO ANGELS.
I hope he leaves the Angels to a winning team, he only needs to win a World Series Championship to be the undisputed GOAT and (in my opinion) he doesn't care a lot about the money, he was winning a lot more in Japan, he only needs a good organization to win and rest would be history...
I honestly think even if the Angels are open to trade shohei the best window has passed. Sure he generates a lot of fan base and will make you team a lot more competitive but with that kind of asking price which basically depletes your future, and you only get him half a season, teams are going to hesitate. Angels would have gotten much more out of him last mid-season or even before the start of this season.
However you can use him as a DH & starting pitcher and not have to pay two separate guys at those positions. For example Gerrit Cole & Stanton have a combined contract of 625 million for the Yankees. you can give Ohtani a stupid contract and still save money.
THERE'S ALWAYS MONEY IN THE BANANA STAND
He should play for the Savannah Bananas
I'd love to see freeway series. That"ll be dream come true for me!
We have a better chance of aliens landing and offering us their technology in the next 5 years than the Angels going to a world series anytime soon.
They should trade him ASAP. They cannot afford to keep him after this year.
I would love to see ohtani with the astros bc they keep winning and he's too dam good to not win but the only problem is that the astros will not pay him 600 mil and idk what they would give the angels in a trade so its probably not gonna happen
Underrated comment
Astros, Dodgers, or other contending teams should acquire him
No way, I don’t like Texas.
Asstros ? FOH. No way. Shohei is pure and legit. Houston the exact opposite.
His contract ends after this year. He needs to refuse to sign with any team until next year. That way, the team that trades for him, doesn't have to gut their farm system to get him.
Bullshit! He needs to win. If they're in their usual _fighting for third place_ Angels' suckola by mid-season, Ohtani's up the road, wearing Dodger blue, and has a series ring and MVP by November!
So you are talking about a team perspective because ohtani doesnt want teenagers as teamates; wins are for experience players
As an Angels fan since the days of Nolan Ryan let me tell you the fan base are part of the problem. For the past decade its been like this. Spring training, everyone is excited this is our year optimisticism. First 1/3 of season and we are sitting in 3rd place 4 games back: We're just getting warmed up lets see how we do after the all star break. 2 weeks after ASG, We are 8 games under .500: Lets keep hope alive we can make a late push. Season over we finish with 72wins: Oh well maybe next year. If you point out anything negative, they say you're having bad vibes, and everyone just want to go to the ball park and enjoy the day.
Angels keeping him. He’s too valuable. He’s already a legend
Babe Ruth the pitcher was a two time 20 game winner (3-0 in the World Series) , Ruth the hitter was .340 , that’s a legend!
@@TB12710 Babe against plumbers, bakers, and alcoholics.

Even if they make the playoffs he's not going to stay. Because he wont see getting to one playoff series after 5 years as a good thing. Especially when there is a better option in the LA Dodgers that's not that far that he can go too and have a way better chance at winning it all than with the Angels.
Not gonna happen. Sorry
44k fans tonight for Shotime. How do you like that Rich!!!!!!
Had the NL had the DH when Ohtani was first available, i have little doubt he would have signed with the Dodgers instead of the angels and would have been more satisfied as a player. Whether the Dodgers would be agreeable to re-signing him to a historic second contract is subject to debate. To plan for that, they may have decided not to sign Bauer and may also have not pursued scherzer and traded only for turner, which may have enabled the team to retain ruiz, who would be a significant upgrade over barnes or could have been used in a separate deal. They certainly would not have needed to sign martinez or syndergaard years later and may have been more open to letting urias walk in order to keep ohtani.
Not just Ohtani, but Trout too.
Although it's clear at this point that Trout doesn't care about winning, just his money
Rich has been begging the league to get Ohtani away from the Angels and suddenly changes his tune 😂
It's the third week of April, by and large records don't mean much at this point.
Angeles paid was it 20 million to aquire him from Japan. Allowed him to chase his crazy MLB hit and pitch dream. No matter what happens as an Angeles fan I feel Jiped. We did not win in our window and Trout is past his prime I belive, same with Rendone. So were ever the man goes I wish him succsess meaning wining penetts and happines.
My guy, English not your first language? Honest question. If it is, good lord. If not, great job 😀
i want him to win
but in an halos uniform
Sorry to say it but we should trade trout for some pitching and some great proscpects that can be ready with the next 2 years
KEEP ohtani at all costs!!!!
Trading Ohtani would be the dumbest thing the Angels could do. Trade Ohtani for what? The Angels are a young team, trade for players that will help in 5 years? Trout will be bad by then. The Angels would be forever known for trading Ohtani and wasting Trout's whole career. The Angels need to somehow dump rendon and the only trades the Angels need to do is unload their top prospects besides the players that can help now and get a ace level SP. That would move Saurez to bullpen where I think he belongs can can actually help.
They already wasted trout’s career. If they don’t wanna be known as the team that traded ohtani they WILL be the team that let ohtani walk and got NOTHING in return while having trout.
As an Angels living in purgatory at this point trade everyone and blow it up. The rebuild needs to happen as soon as possible we are already not making the postseason with trout and Shohei.
Because if they dont trade him and he becomes a free agent, he goes where he wants to and is obviously going to be paid. The Angels would get nothing for him. Even if they pay more than any other team, they have no more cash to build around him. They did it to Trout.
Good thing you work at Starbucks and not the GM of the Angels. Ohtani is not signing with the Angels. You have to trade him if you don’t make the playoffs
@edcPlatinumrings, with all due respect you haven’t a clue about what you’re talking about. Ohtani is gone at the end of the season, so do you get a compensatory draft pick that is a coin flip or several scouted top prospects that have a higher percentage to be impact players in the MLB. The smart move is to trade him before the deadline, hopefully within the next month, as his value is as high as it’s going to get and an injury would diminish his value.
When you have a multi year plan, like the Astros did when they blew up the team, great things can happen. Arte Moreno is unfortunately the one that is hurting this team the most.
When he was 20 something, coming across the ocean was a big deal, nevertheless he chose to give up his comfortable life in Japan to come over just to prove something deep within his soul and one can forgive him, at that age, for finding some level of comfort then to be closer to home in the West coast. Now, he's grown and been to the top of the mountain and the reticence of being in the West coast is no longer needed for comfort...one need only to see his emotion and leadership during the WBC....He's gonna go to where the biggest stage possible to make his bones...a man like Steve Cohen understands this for he had lived through this when he made his bones during the 1980s...when the Mets won it all in 1986 with a power left handed batter in Darryl Strawberry and a power right handed pitcher in Dwight Gooden....I was a grad student at Columbia in 1985-1987...those were magical years in the city...let's make the Mets great again Steve!
If shohei doesn't win mvp because of the angels again, imma flip
It's possible he will win Cy Young and MVP, making him the first to win both awards in a year.
@@cryptointuition5052 it happened before
@全球投资资讯频道 yes, but not as a hitter and a pitcher at the same time.
@全球投资资讯频道 yes, Koufax, Lincecum, Gibson, santana etc. I'm referring to MVP as a hitter and Cy Young as a pitcher, the first 2 way player to win both.
If you can't resign him, take the 5 Star prospects Padres paid.
That might have been the case last year. But nobody’s gonna offer that much this year for half a year’s control of a player who will be a FA at the end of it.
Tito Francona as long as he is managing Cleveland they will be competing for the playoffs. Though I highly doubt the trade happens but since the new minority owner has come in (soon to take over) they have been actually getting contracts extended.
Volpe dominguez perazza... pretty good haul!
Angels aren’t trading him. Sorry non-Angels fans.
Should of done that with trout years ago.
Trout chose the money.
Yes, but I doubt Trout could handle New York.
@@Matt52493 IMO, Trout chose socal, not the money. Most teams have the money to sign anybody. It’s whether the players that have the clout wants to go live there for the rest of their career.
A fact. Mikey is no longer at his peak so he might give priority to the long term contract, while Shohei is never ever interested in bucks. That's a difference.
Ohtani trade is only for half a season. It’ll be a lot, but it won’t even be as much as the Soto deal…. Giants and mariners are the front runners imo. Both have multiple premium prospects that are pitchers and position players
Yankees need to give up everyone for him. Top prospects. Volpe. Peraza.
8:54 okay Kurt Angle
Angels have always been a strange franchise, just who are their fans exactly? Bay area is covered with the Oakland As (not for much longer) and San Fran. Southern California has the LA teams and further south San Diego. Anaheim is squished in the middle between those teams, makes no sense to have a team there.
He most incredible athlete ever!!
The Nationals have already set the blueprint here. After they made their best offer of 15 years $440M to Soto, they traded him to a team who was willing to part ways with the most intriguing prospects. The Angles aren't winning with Ohtani, Trout, and Rendon.....it's time to blow it up and get cheaper contracts with great upside.
And what makes you think they have a better chance to win with other players instead?
There’s also a big Japanese population in SoCal
The Angels have NO heart. I have been an Angels fan since 1977. And its obvious. There is no grit. No grind.
You ask Ohtani what he wants. And then give it to him.
Bring him to the cubbies and they will win it all next year.
If Angels still can't get in postseason games,Ohtani might leave next yr
Trade > FA.
Strike while the iron is hot.
Uhh. KEEP.
Angels are playing good ball. They have a tough division for sure. If he leaves I hope it's to the dodgers.
maybe, he wants to play against best players & strong teams. if that's the case, he is in right place. Only problem is Trout has the same idea...
They should trade him since its obvious that he wants to go to a team that is a perennial contender.
Why don't the Angels invest in some signings instead? What do they need?
They signed renfroe, they needed an actual outfielder. Pay attention

Winning is getting a half a Billion dollars. That't winning.
TRADE OHTANI. Angels are fading and now 7 1/2 games back. There's no way the Angels are getting past HOU and TEX in the AL West. If they were smart they would trade Ohtani by the trade deadline because when the Angels miss the postseason for the 9th straight season and when Ohtani becomes a FA he WILL sign with a contender at which point the Angels will have nothing. So the team might as well forget trying to keep him no matter how much the Angels offer him. He's already stated that playing for a winning contender is more important over the $$$.
Longtime Angel fan here (well before they won the World Series). I would have traded Ohtani this past offseason. Ohtani wants to win, now. Angels aren’t even close to being a contender. Ohtani fair market value could get a $45 to $50 million dollar a year deal if he wants, but even below market at a $35 million is something the Angels cannot afford with the Trout and Rendon contracts. I see him getting traded to the Dodgers before the all star break. They have one of the best pool of prospects of any team so it would be a great fit for all involved as the Angels will get probably 3 to 4 top prospects. Long term I see him signing with the Dodgers for around $450 over 9 years.
The only issue is the Dodgers this year isn't great. If West Coast is not a factor, you would think Shohei would want to join a stronger contender. Mets 13-7? Yankees 12-7?
You aren't a real angel fan, if you were you'd remember the sting of losing Nolan Ryan
@@wbaldwin666 You’re talking about a baseball era that no longer exists where players had loyalty, free agency isn’t what it is today, and salaries were still reasonable.
So your position is what, that the Angels should hold onto Ohtani? Please enlighten me how they are going to do that exactly. Let’s assume for arguments sake that Ohtani wants to stay with the Angels and is not interested in winning anytime soon. What money will the Angels have to field a team with 3 guys combined making over $100 million for the season?
I may not have been an Angel fan in the 60’s and 70’s since I wasn’t born yet, but I sure as hell know a lot more than you in today’s game if you think the Angels have any shot to retain Ohtani beyond this year. You show me anything from a respected baseball writer that thinks the Angels have a great shot of holding onto Ohtani past this season. Do not confuse me for the typical fake Angel fan that started watching the team in 2002 and that shows up to the game in the middle of the 3rd inning.
Don’t understand your obsession with Ohtani. If he wasn’t an Angel would he make them a WS teams ?
As an Angels fan, you 100% do not trade Ohtani. You give him whatever he wants to be a career Angel. Ohtani is turning out to be not just a once in a generation Talent but a one time only Talent.
Yes. This is not just any star. If you're the Angels, you make it top priority to resign him. Losing him in the offseason is worth the risk. You don't trade a once in a lifetime player like Shohei.
Lol they're not getting that much for a rental even if it is Ohtani. Orioles should make a move! Insanely deep farm system of bats, they can't all stay. One top and one next tier and a few lottery tickets should do it
I would trade him
It’s because they haven’t mattered for so long despite having superstars. Nothing new 🤷🏻♂️
Keep em so the Ms can sign him as a Free Agent without having to give anything to the Angels 👌
i just dont want him to be a yankee...or really go to one of those expected teams.
KINGS
The Angels won’t win because their objective has always been making money off their superstars instead of putting together a competitive team year in year out. If the Angels can’t win with Ohtani being paid less, I really don’t see them winning by paying him massively. If the franchise really cares about winning, then they should trade both Trout & Ohtani in order to rebuild. One or two superstars definitely won’t carry the entire team in baseball. Unfortunately Arte doesn’t see it that way
Angels is not a team, it seems like a group of players play together by accident. No soul , no win.
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS should do EVERYTHING they can to acquire AND extend SHOHEI OHTANI. Either that or flip some guys for Trout. Please. 😁
Why do you only talk about ohtani when they’re losing and when they’re winning you’re silent
keep
Ohtani is missing a world series championship ring! I am sure he wants to win like all pro athletes. The question is will other teams give him the chance to play 2 ways.
ohtani belongs in the playoffs
If ohtani wanted to win
He would have nvr picked the angles to begin with
He picked them because they were the only ones who let him pitch and dh'd. Pay attention
Yeah, unfortunately, the asstros (spelling is correct) will get better, but the smell will stay the same.
They need to trade him and get a haul
GO TO PADRE TEAM UP WITH A BUNCH OF SUPER STARS
What if Ohtani is traded for a Giant Haul of Prospects, and then decides that he will sign a contract in the offseason WITH THE ANGELS, except now the Franchise has some key pieces via the trade.... or imagine Ohtani DOES sign with another team in the offseason, but with a yearly player opt out option, so he has total control over his destiny, and when he sees the Angels are again viable and Moreno is gone, he comes "home" to the Angels. Those are the scenarios that scare the hell out of the Legacy Franchises as the GOAT ponders his future. Hence the snubbing in last years MVP debacle, to prove to Ohtani that his historical achievements will not be fully honored by the MLB writers/pundits until he takes a knee to the old guard.
Who listens to radio?
What is wrong with these guys? Just because he gets traded this year doesn’t mean he is going to sign with that team. He will be a rental.
The Angels should do everything to keep him.
If the Angels keep or trade Ohtani they will also trade Trout and start winning, Watch
Trade him. Angel fans don’t even show up to games past July because the team is already out of postseason contention. Ohtani can bring in multiple players and prospects to finally start the rebuild that the angels have avoided for years.
Trade him straight to the Dodgers… thanks
He'd going to the rangers or twins
Make the tigers great again!
Rumor is he will be traded to the Astros

Affirmative. ASAP.
I think Ohtani might get traded to one of the NY teams by the deadline if the Angels are out of contention, and if he likes it there especially win a title then he would sign a long term mega deal, if not after playing in NY and he misses California might sign back there again, but I think either way ShoTime is going to Broadway baseball in October this season and light up the playoffs.
He is going to cost a bundle in a trade and he becomes a free agent next year. Though, as a Mets fan, I would love to see him play in Queens, Dodgers will be the front runners to land him next season. Who the heck is running the Angels!
I think Chris is dead wrong….NOBODY is giving up that much for a postseason….he’s acting like there’s term
Eastern teams were out of Shohei's sight at his first contact with MLB and consideration, especially NY.
Someone define what Moreno means by if the Angels are still in "contention"??? His "definition" and criteria might be different from ours...
The Yankees can't have him. MLB needs to initiate a rule where you can't have 2 guys that won MVP in subsequent years in the first 5 years SINCE those awards were given. 10 years if they went 1st and 2nd in the voting 2 years in a row. An exception will be made if those players were already teammates when they got those awards
Ohtani doesn't want to go to the East Coast. He wants to stay in the West. Because of the respect Ohtani has for Ichiro Suzuki, I am betting he will go to Seattle.
A West coast team with a history of world series. Dodgers and Giants.
Japaness players love living the west coast. A deki matsui was an exception. I dont see Seattle ponying up enough money to make the boy happy. Remember he wants to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@bigr6298 Good point. I have to admit, I am biased against the Dodgers. From all accounts that I have read. 600 to 700 mil contract for a player like Ohtani would be made up by merch sales. Not all but major portions of the contract. If Seattle plays it right, if they seriously want to make a commitment to their fans, signing Ohtani would speak very loudly that they are committed.
