Beautiful vintage effects through texture mix, simple technique

You can create this mix of textures quickly and easily with a krakelier paste and sand. Or fine-grain structure paste. The cracks give your work that special shabbi chic charm. A white glaze creates a lime effect. The earthy red nuances look like rust. The combination with turquoise underlines this rust effect and looks like oxidized copper. So you have a colorful mix of materials and colors. Overall, however, the work of art looks slightly through the layered painting. Put some sand in your paint and you will create a fine-grained layer on your canvas and you don't need any structure paste.

The technique:
I primed the canvas with a paste I made myself. See the video "Making paste" in the channel. The paste tears under the heat of the hair dryer.
Then I spread the paint with the brush. Apply the paint wet on the surface, then you accentuate the cracks. You emphasize the surface with dry paint. You can use the spatula and the brush. You can smear the color again with a cloth. The transitions become softer. The brushstrokes from the job disappear. Areas can be wiped with the dry or wet cloth. It is the same technique as in the sky-cloud-sea videos. There the technology is again explained in detail. It's also the same technique as in the videos on the slide. The many layers of color create depths in the picture. These depths and heights make the picture interesting and give the picture expression. With just one or two layers of paint, the picture looks nice but still a bit flat. With the many layers of paint, the viewer begins to fathom the picture. The viewer wants to discover it. It also arouses his curiosity.
And you yourself have longer fun painting;) You will experiment a lot here. Give yourself a try. Get to know the tools by doing. As a beginner, you can easily apply the paint and enjoy painting.
