- So many people tout themselves as beach people. They live either in the city or somewhere in the suburbs and make the trek down to the beach during those hot summer days. Maybe they drive, maybe they take public transportation, or if the weather is especially nice they may hop on a bicycle. People come from all over to visit the water. But some people are especially lucky and get to hang on the water 24/7. We’re, of course talking about the people who live near the water or on the beach. Mansions, villas, maybe even a townhome, there’s something out there for everyone who is looking to experience the healing energy of the water. My favorite beach for years was Carmel by the Sea, it was amazingly beautiful and quiet back in the old days. Now, it's a millionaire set up, but I loved it as a kid. Now, we plan to live on Port Aransas in the Gulf of Mexico, it's so incredible! There are hundreds of miles of beaches and just a completely different world. Island people are so down to earth. They live with the threats of hurricanes, etc., and know everything is temporary. It makes you enjoy everything more...
Where is Carmel by the Sea?
I also loved Carmel….we vacationed every summer there. Beautiful! I lived in Dubai and Abu Dhabi….crazy expensive!

I'm so glad you got to enjoy it as well! I've been to so many beautiful places, but only in the USA and was lucky enough to vacation in St. John in the USVI, before the hurricane scoured the whole thing down to the bare rock. I would love so much to travel more, but I think I've been lucky😀!
@@christineparis5607 I’ve been fortunate also. I’ve lived in four different countries, my favorite being Spain. We’ve been back several times & hope to retire there soon. We have so many beautiful places here in the US too. Enjoy your travels. 😎

What makes Spain your retirement home? I've never been to Europe, but I love the mix of cultures where we live now in San Antonio, it's so rich with history and everyone speaks Spanish and the food is incredible. The only problem is that its grown so fast that a lot we loved about it is history, it's growing way too fast, exactly what happened to Palo Alto in the 60s, just exploded and was just completely changed for the worse, because of all the billionaires. I grew up in a tiny post war house on a tiny lot near Stanford University, and a few years later our house was up for sale for millions! It was worth about ten thousand....everything is so expensive that there is no way I want to go back...I don't hate anyone for being a millionaire, it's just hard to live in an ultra rich town unless you're ultra rich too! I didn't want to be. I left home to be an artist, not a software developer, so I'm happy, but it's still surreal to see what happened in such a few years! I really just want to live on a boat with dogs and cats and write...

Even in good weather the salt air destroys everything. Windows are always smeary. These are maintenance nightmares.

Tip Of The Tail Villa & Hawaii secret hide away. Floating house in Dubai is awesome. Home in Santa Barbara is a dream. Little Pipe key has my heart. ♥️ A home in Mexico would be a blessing. My husband was the deputy foreman on the construction of Ira Rennerts house, Fairfield, (ranked #2) for many years. He met them many times. The opulence inside the home is insane. The shower heads in the bathrooms were $20k a piece. The master bedroom is bigger than my house. Mrs Rennert didnt like the Hamptons sand and had sand brought up from the Bahamas for her beach. Needless to say the locals were not happy to have this house built there. Its dubbed the house that are the Hamptons. And it's not even their primary residence. It's just their summer beach cottage.

I live near of sea, here sea is 10 kilometres from our home but that home isn't beach house, there have much beautiful beachouses in Finland too. 🇫🇮

How beautiful! I love the ocean in every part of the world, but my favorite of all time is St. John in the USVI. A hurricane took out the entire resort we used to stay at, but it's still my favorite place on earth! It's in the ring of fire, so there are earthquakes, hurricanes and volcanoes to deal with, but you just can't believe how beautiful it is! I loved going there, and we used to always see people visiting from Sweden and Norway...

Why are apts included here when you call this video beach houses. For the most I find these “Ego” houses. Boating with friends on a visit to Ft Lauderdale Fl we went through neighborhoods on canals with huge homes, I noticed after 2 hours I only saw servants outdoors. When I said something to the Captain who does this trip near daily. He said they virtually never see owners just the help. Mine’s bigger then yours.
Some of these prices are obscene.

Or there's something wrong with people who have millions and billions of dollars, because most extremely wealthy people in this world didn't get their money by moral means, or hard work. Plus, all these places would quickly fall to disrepair and rot away, if not constantly consuming millions in annual upkeep. It's really nothing to be pleased about. Personally I think the earth itself and surrounding heavens have things far more impressive to see.

First house shown isn’t a beach house, the ones beside it looks bigger, not a beach in sight, appears to be beside an industrial port… this list isn’t going to be great. Most will be in America and the real classy each houses like west coast of Ireland likely won’t feature

What a waste, nobody needs that much house
It is nor about needing space. It is about ego, about feeling better than competitors because one has succeeded. Personally , let them enjoy and revel what they have because competitors are VICIOUS and would be willing to enjoy going to extremes to stop them from getting what they now have. I would be in heaven enjoying the property because my enemies would be eating their hearts out. Luxury has VERY LITTLE to do with it.
