For someone who knows accounting from school but has never done bookkeeping, starting off on quickbooks or xero, would it be hard to navigate the site and be useful for clients? How can you be marketable with no experience?
This video has been so inspiring and informative. I am a stay-at-mom currently with little professional experience so it has been hard finding reasonable work from home work that I could do while maintaining my home presence for my kids and husband. Came across your video and I feel like I can actually do this. I would love to see what more you have to share. I couldn't find anything on the link but please continue to make these videos!
Hi Mariah! I find that QB's is a litter easier for clients to navigate, especially with their latest app updates. My clients like the option to record their receipts right away with their phones. One good way to begin marketing yourself (without much experience) is to offer to do trades with friends, family or colleagues that you could help out, and use their company as a client to add to your portfolio and/or a testimony! I think I'll make a quick vid about this soon, it's such a great question!

Just wonderful, been searching for "quickbooks certified user" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Aleacob Marvelous Ascendancy - (just google it ) ? It is an awesome exclusive guide for discovering how to master quickbooks minus the normal expense. Ive heard some super things about it and my work buddy got excellent success with it.

This might sound a bit boring but I use ledger-cli command line Accounting software. The main advantage is that all records can be kept locally in text files and its free :)). Quickbooks is all ok, and it might be networked together with payment gateways and the like, but it has a big brother is watching you element to it and you have to pay for it. Most of the time I use ledger for personal finances but it's feature set is vast and its reporting functions allow all information to be exported into .csv files that are easily edited in a spreadsheet and made into whatever statement you need. Fancy gadgets, apps, and added mobile functionality are all great but at the end of the day you pay a lot of money for the privilege of using it.
I currently use Sage 50 and love it ! It’s super clean and easy to use .
I work part-time as a bookkeeper for a local small business, but would like to find more work-at-home bookkeeping online. Any ideas? To answer your question on which accounting software I like the most? I personally use Quickbooks and that works well best for me.

Why do I prefer using Quickbooks or Xero? Quickbooks is a great software to use in book-keeping or as an accountant in my opinion. My major is an accountant and I had to take a computerized accountant course to understand QuickBooks and Peachtree software. I need all the help I can get to graduate. Youll love QB for small businesses. Its as user friendly as microsoft office and you can change anything (which is also dangerous if clients mess things up but then theyll hire u to clean up their books)

Hi Atiqah, that's awesome you have your LCCI certificate! Most virtual bookkeepers don't need or have any official certifications, they usually have enough experience or "unofficial" training. So the short answer is yes, you can become a virtual bookkeeper with just your level 1 certificate - it all really depends on what qualifications your client is looking for!

That would be a good place to start! In my experience, the very most important thing is that you learn the software you'll be using (like Quickbooks)--focus your studies on that for the majority of the time.

Hi Bretagné Chanté! I think that it would be fairly easy as in you wouldn’t have a hard time experience-wise, but depending on your small biz clientele and/or duties - that could be a little tricky! Sometimes people get bored or have a hard time with marketing themselves...I know those were some things I ran into! ♥️ Cici
