100 Year Old Toy Box Top Renovation. Patching the Top

Patching in some damage to the top of a Toy Box - where previous filling repairs had fallen out.
A dear friend asked if I could repair a few areas of damage on a toy box their grandfather made, so their own grandchildren can use the box without fear of splinters.
I was really chuffed to be asked to take care of such a precious family item, here is how I went about it.
