what a kind thing to do. I still remember my first helicopter ride. Amazing experience. Was with a retired Vietnam helicopter pilot. The landing coming in felt like a controlled crash with it landing so smooth at the last second. Was extremely fun.
Germany in the Fall of '88. The Army flew my company from Graf. to home base for Thanksgiving. They left the doors open. After weeks of rain and no Sun, the Sun shining in the doors was the most memorable part. It was like we had flown in to Summer.
I think about my 4th time on a helicopter I was on a Blackhawk in Afghanistan at like 2am flying through the blackness to get to the outpost we were going to be staying at. Those of us who were not part of the flight crew didn't have hearing protection on. Somewhere mid-flight we all heard a few random "TINK TINK TINK"s hitting the hawk and the door gunner unleashed hell on someone and just about blew all of our eardrums out. When he was done, he turns back to look at us, moves the mic away from his mouth and screams as loud as he can so we can hear him "HE DEFINITELY WONT BE SHOOTING AT ANYMORE HELICOPTERS." 1/5 stars for that Uber ride. Still have that ringing in my ears lol
Gr8 video... !!! My Pop always wanted to get a pilots license to fly... never did.. sadly, passed at 59 from cancer... it was his main regret having retired at 52... they say, the 2 saddest words in the English Language are "what if..???" ... and it's true.... be well..
That was an awesome interview and cole seemed really chill as well. Nice conversation nothing felt forced, just two dudes in a chopper enjoying the skies.
StL here... I've never really looked into Sauce on the Side, but I always thought it was like an Olive Garden lol... Calzones are good, so I need to check them out. I took an Introductory flying class at the airport you're based out of and looking to going there again sometime to take the class again.
Bro, Sauce On The Side blows Olive Garden out of the water like if Tsar Bomba were a floating mine. Seriously, try it. And if you have room for dessert, get the Apple Pie Calzone, and thank me later!
This is one thing that I wish I would have been thinking about when I was in my early 20's. I'm 56 now and too old for starting to learn how to fly a helicopter. My Dad has a Kitfox "home built" airplane. I've been around planes since I was a little kid. I wish I could do what you are able to do. I'm in Janesville,Wisconsin. I wish we were closer.
yeah honestly I'd love to see more mini-interviews up in the air, maybe try getting in contact with some of the cops you met in previous videos and see if they're down to fly
What an awesome video, keep that stuff going! Big fan (excuse the helicopter pun), as someone that lives in northern Ireland I'm actually happy to say I've flown to your spot several times in Msfs (after an extensive search with not much to go by), in VR. Lately we were lucky enough to get a decent r22 in the sim too, which makes things even more authentic! Safe flyin!
Nice, my first helicopter ride was in a Chinook helicopter (UK) with its rear lift down, in a simulated tactical formation with another chinook helicopter. Amazing.
Hell yeah, Sauce on The Side! My all time fave is the Meat Me In St. Louie! Good for you, Cole! Making your own strides in business, especially with a local chain is always a challenge. But it seems like you're just doing the damn thing!! Matty! a first time flyers series would be fantastic! If you ever see a small hearse with fender mirrors on 270 or 367 between Alton & Berkeley while you're in the sky, feel free to race me!! lmao, have a good one, dude!!
My dad used to be a forest fire fighter and he used to pilot a huey that was outfitted to be serviced for putting out fires using a bucket that was attached to the underside of the helicopter took me for countless rides when there wernt any fires to put out to inspect potential hot spots where fires would expected to flare up was soo fun but very loud inside the cockpit
That's great what you're doing. I lost my license due to medical problems. I sure do miss flying. Thank you brother (also thank you for taking people for rides).
As someone who works in customer service, I totally get what the GM is saying. Maybe one day you can land at the call center I work at here in Florida and give me a ride! 😂😂😂
Matt, would love to see you do a fly-by one day. Without giving address, im in the subdivision directly next to the St. Charles Police Station. My deck overlooks the farms on 79. Hope to see you brother!
My girlfriend and I ate sauce on the side in downtown St. Louis when we were driving cross country and had the best calzones ever. We still talk about them and scheme how to get it where we are.
Funny story, at least to me, I picked up a Calzone at that same location and delivered it to Papa John’s in Ofallon. I ask the guy why and he said these are awesomely good.
I remember my first helicopter ride. I had just got hit by a drunk driver on my motorcycle and was thrown 30 feet. Had an 18 minute flight in a medevac and was charged $53,700 before I got my attorneys involved.

My first helicopter ride was in a Huey and it was awesome!!!

what a lucky guy!! Love the thrill of being in a helicopter, there's nothing quite like it, especially with the doors off!!
Yes please do a series I enjoy watching every thing much love to you brother peace ✌️

Mercia!
I bet Hilliary was with you too, as you ran from the choppah under fire. lol
@-108- nah, we had to leave her back at home for this mission. Anderson Cooper was the door gunner though 🫡
@@Grim_The_Reaper I figured he'd more likely have been the load master.
awesome, as a fixed wing pilot there is no more joy than giving someone they're first flight. keep it up.
YES!! Love the idea of more videos like this! And now I need some sauce on the side...
Cole was the nicest dude ever.. love these style videos. Keep up the amazing hospitality, Pilot!
Bro said "It's just like a Jeep" while casually flying over a lake 😆
You seem like a cool dude to hang with 😊
