What are the seam allowances you use? It seems that every time I sew one of your bags (I've done the crossbody and now this design) my side panel gets much shorter in circumference than the body once it's all sewn together.
I had this issue too...the seam allowance is 1/4 inch. Sometimes smaller I’ve noticed. I’ve had to also alter the patterns sometimes because the top zip panel is smaller than the bottom/side zips
@@syx2syxnailtribe Same thing has happened to me with the zipper panels and side panels. Aesthetically I like less zipper band to show than the pattern calls for so I've made them wider to account for that and match up with the side panel edges. Also depending on the fabric your using (I'm seeing this in a Vinyl) definitely get a walking foot for your sewing machine. Made a world of difference!
Do you think it's even necessary for me to buy a walking foot machine for this kind of work? I have a regular brother but do you know anything about Rex rx607z? One is for sale in my neighborhood for 175$ and I'm unsure if I need it.
Walking foot is not necessary for this project. $175 is not a bad deal for a walking foot machine. If you are working with leather or super heavy fabrics I recommend using a walking foot :)
so i’m bi and looking for ideas for something practical and butch to diy with this rainbow buckle strap i throated *THRIFTED DAMN AUTOCORRECT and saw this and was like they rlly know how to reach their target audience
Wow guys you really do make great content! Can u do a roll top backpack next?? That would be pretty cool
What size bias do you guys use? And would you do a messenger bag? I'd love to make one of those. Obsessed with your patterns 🤩
12:20 how do you know where to sew it? How much space do I leave from the buckle?
What is the seam allowance?
would surging the edges be just as good as bias taping the edges?
Yes. Bias tape just looks better. As long as the seams are finished it should do just fine.
Did u get ur lining from the same place u got the fabric
