Gotta appreciate the subtle trickery of letting the illusion take center stage, as potential bait.
If you notice, they made it very subtle, but watching it multiple times, the real loki walks in without a sound effect, while the 2nd loki in the scene on the gate gets a woosh souind. And then the illusion goes to the middle while real loki walks through the gates after that
Ikr I love that one.
he also gave the side lokis shadows that weren't accurate while centre loki's was, he had to remove his shadow to do that
It also really shows how Loki has grown. He would've never let an illusion take centre stage before
I love this scene. When Loki is seriously tracking you, you have nowhere to go.

Remember that Disney owns the MCU. Thanos had the same plot armor that makes lightsabers that can easily remove limbs merely cause flesh wounds.

pretty sure he is using more magic here bc the old loki he met in the last season showed him where his true strengths lay. he is an illusionist and trickster, and as such he will be more powerful with that (and his other magic) than the blades he was always using previously.

They really gave Loki a badass power boost here, and I loved it. He never really displayed it again.
This is how he should have been through the entirety of his time in the MCU! Regardless of who his allies were at the moment, we should have always been guessing and just a little intimidated.
Instead of the God of Magic, or the Trickster God, we got a con artist and a turncoat most of the time. Not a bad character, but he could have been SO MUCH MORE.

i think they may have been what they were trying to show in the loki tv show how great he could have been if he was not put on the path that he was by the TVA

He was supposed to have been like this all along. He just stopped using his powers and got turned into comic relief after the NY invasion. Bad writing for almost all of it, and for him in season 1. 😅
@@Sunless1337, you're Right & Wrong. The ONLY way Loki *WOULD'VE* beaten the Avengers is by splitting them up and turn them Against eachother. And loki almost did it but the avengers had something to fight for and they ended up fighting together and they won.💯
And the avengers ended up splitting up because of baron zemo in captain america: civil war
I didn't say anything about him beating the Avengers, but he's not just a God of deception. His magic powers, for combat, are much stronger than in the MCU. They focused on his powers of illusion, but not the rest of his powers.
The reduced him to a shell of what he should have been, because it was funny, and essentially removed him from the role of being any serious serious concern after his debut.
Season 1 of Loki he ridiculously only used his powers to throw a random appliance/store product at a Loki-controlled normal human (who somehow was overpowering normal Loki physically).

@@Sunless1337 I think in Avengers, Loki was good in terms of combat as he demolished Captain, fought toe to toe with Thor on the tower and held his own, caught Hawkeye's arrow which backfired but in terms of agility, dope.
Hulk is physically strong enough to tackle even the strongest of Gods because his strength increase with anger. So him beating Loki makes sense, although Loki could have put up a fight but well we got puny God instead!

I really wish the entire Loki show was like this, where he is actually competent in magic etc when trying instead of just being a one trick pony with an inferiority complex mixed with Superiority complex at the same time.
Motherfucker realises his magical potential (albeit with some help) and can literally make time his bitch, as well as remake the fucking multiverse. How does the show not display his competency in magic?!?
It starts with him mainly fighting with weapons, with some magic, then he gradually learns to use his magic more, until the aforementioned end level of his abilities.
He's not supposed to go overboard with It otherwise he creates branches. But he does use lots of different magic in the show, not just illusions. Heck, at the end of the show he does something that is far beyond anything else we've seen in the MCU.
@@ThePipojp Are we watching the same show because literally 99% of all the magic Real Loki has done has been illusions, then near the end there was the spacial/time manipulation but really that was like the last episode and only 2 or so scenes.
But what I really mean by being competent with magic is that for one Loki is a few hundred years old even before the show, and he is a sorcerer not a warrior so you would think that Loki would be capable of more then just illusions after all that time - I'm not asking for Doctor Strange vs Thanos levels just more diversity.
Some Ideas of the stuff he could/should be able to do.
- Telekinesis
- Mind Reading (proper)
- Astral Projection
- Hard light Illusions
- Mind control (basic levels 1 person or so, not enchantress fem-Loki levels)
- Some form of energy projection spells like the lasso, bolts etc
- Transmogrification abilitys turning into animals etc

@@LineOfThy Thats the problem he is over 500 years old and is meant to be a god of magic and trickery but he can literally only do one or two minor things.
It just doesn't make sense and when you also consider the Odins wife was Loki's teacher in magic and she was meant to be and Incredibly powerful sorceress an almost equivalent to the Ancient One in some respects.
Its just dumb that he can't do anything else, it doesn't even need to be powerful but just being able to do multiple things like create fire, manipulate earth, Telekinesis etc.
A more jack of all master of none type deal compared to Thor who is a Master of Lightning, and with Loki being able to do stuff like that it could really play into his god of trickery as he does 'tricks'
If you HAVE the advantage and CAN fight unfair... Hell, the only thing stopping you there would be how noble you are... Fair to say, Loki might be working in the best interest for the many here... But he still operate like a villain. And Villains never fight fair. XD
also: fighting fair is how you lose. if you want to be noble just dont break their bones or kill them when you trap em and beat em up.

the fair fight line always makes me chuckle, only times a fight must be fair is on sports, when people are fighting outside a ring, then everything goes, id rather fuck up someone who is trying to harm me than be injured myself
It's also a line always spoken by someone who wanted to win by not fighting fairly, then realised they'd been outplayed. He was initially trying to beat an unarmed guy to death with a pipe, but bitched it was unfair when Loki used magic to make his illusions.
Not to mention that the magic is him fighting nice, considering that Loki is significantly superhuman, physically.

Imagine if an illusion of him is holding the timeline together, or he's every variant, everywhere, all at once. He doesn't have to 100% consciously holding those threads. There's enough of his consciousness to explore.

Loki has a lot more potential, and I think they really downplayed his true power. They should have showcased him using his powers like this a lot more.
