@David Sinclair the race discussion was 5 months ago. The fact that people still bring it up is where the real toxicity is. Its simply time to move forward.
On that day I lost my idol and the world lost a free spirit. I remember all the crashes and broken bones, the black eyes, and the determination in his eyes during press interviews. Davey was a superhero to boys, a reason for men to keep doing mechanics themselves and a great family man. It's so sad to see him go, but I know he will live on in our memories and will never be forgotten. See you on the other side my friend.....R I P
What a sad day. I still remember it like yesterday. Who would have thought. I still can't believe it today. What a Iron man of the track, Fan Fav. RIP Davey.
I just got a recommended video of the crash of his father when he crashes into the stands and the son went on too win the Race I literally got chills and once that video was over this one came up .... man this truly hurt my spirits and I never knew of them
I found myself in the garage area of CMS a couple of years after switching from nascar to IMSA with the Dodges and ended up talking to Davey for over an hour not knowing who he was. The world lost a lot more than a race driver in that crash and I still wonder how much more!
I sit here in Michigan in 2021, watching this, seeing the type of people attending Davey's funeral and showing their grief and realize the people of Alabama are totally different (better) than the ones I live among. Times have changed forever and not for the better.
I was 5 years old, living in Jasper Alabama when this happened. And I can still remember my dad sitting on the front porch talking to my uncle about it.

Finally made it to Texas where people are decent.
Hair Hats Are The Real Sell Outs Thats why I ended up a Texaco 42 fan years later......and still follow the 42 car because of Davey and the 28 Texaco car. (Even though Texaco isn’t on the 42 car now either)
I actually met Davey at a Texaco station just outside Dover. He had a showcar, the original white, black, and gold replica and have a picture. I also have a signed lithograph from Davey. I'll never forget where I was when my wife called me to tell me he was killed. Bad day.
@@mrcontroversy222 My brother and I have all the little die cast cars and their car haulers still in their boxes. We have all the drivers from ‘88-‘96.
I wish I could have known Davey I never got to see him race. 1993 was a tragic year for Nascar and the fact that we lost 2 of the possible greatest drivers that year must have been heart wrenching. RIP Davey and Alan
It took me decade I would say before i started watching nascar again after Davey's death and still to this day no driver has replace him as my favorte or ever will. I just loved watching him drive that #28. I was 16 when he won his first race at Talladega in 87 and couldn't wait for Sunday's to arrive soon enough. My passion for the sport died with him.
Davey Allison does not belong in the Hall of Fame. He sadly and unfortunately became a what if story. But what if stories do not a Hall of Fame inductee make. Same with Kulwicki. Talented drivers, sad stories, but it’s the ‘Hall of Fame,’ not ‘Hall of Feelings.’ They both should have had wings and displays honoring them though.
i haven't really followed it as well since then. he was also my fav driver. i turned 11 the next wk. i can still remember my brother callin and tellin us he died. me and him both were davey fans
93 was the first full season I ever followed. I was 7. I liked Davey and Mark Martin. I think maybe I couldnt even understand how someone who seemed like an untouchable god like a race car driver could ever die. Now every time I think of Davey or something comes into my attention about him its accompanied by a sadness that I find hard to describe. Im literally typing this while holding back tears. Its just not fair for him to have been taken so soon. Its like humanity itself was cheated out of the life of a good man. I dont know where Im going with this. Just sucks I guess.
I too, lost complete interest in Nascar, though I did follow it, it would never be the same . I cried when I heard of his death, and I didn't cry for a death in my family a few months before
I was born in 1998 so I never got to see Davey race, but his story has always been so fascinating to me and I know he would’ve been my driver for life. I’ve watched a lot of his old races and I always think what a loss the sport had to face when he died. RIP to such a genuine guy who could wheel a racecar like most could not.
Davey Allison was my 1st favorite driver as my late brother got me into Nascar in 1990...Davey definitely was a great driver! Then when he died, I didn't know if I wanted to watch racing again. Then Jeff Gordon came along and I paid attention to him, and the rest is history. Now since Gordon retired in 2015, I don't even watch Nascar anymore. #28 and #24...forever!
Wow, I was such a huge Davey Allison fan. What his death did to me and my whole mindset was so significant. I still watch but except for one or two other drivers, I just can't seem to put that kind of love and appreciation for anyone else. Davey was special.
I was into drag racing till Davey came along and watching him work his magic made a NASCAR fan out of me and still am but not as much seems like all the GREATS are gone. God bless the Allison family they have suffered some great losses......RIP Davey & Clifford.

I followed Michael Andretti for a while before a new guy from Canada caught my attention. His name was Greg Moore. I followed his career right up to the day he died in California. Lost interest in the sport. The heartbreak was too much. I had heard a lot about Michael Schumacher and have a few models of his Benetton and Ferrari cars. Davey Allison...forever28
God I miss those days.... Can't believe it's almost 30 years ago. I'm 58 now and I'm worried about what kind of world we are going to leave for Keith Richards and RED FARMER. 😀 RIP DAVEY
I still remember when the news came out how it happened. My reaction, "wait, he was involved in a serious crash involving a whaaat?!" I was in disbelief because many athletes will travel by air & arrive at their destination in one peace. The fact that this happened being helicopter as opposed to a stock car, I was in total shock that this could happen because the likelihood of a NASCAR driver's death is more likely to happen on the track behind the wheel of a car. Will always remember the kid even after these near 24 years.
A lot of small aircraft were grounded and inspected and rebuilt after that if I recall, many entertainment and sportspeople went back to trucks and busses, air travel lost most of its luster and respect and safety record never to fully regain it after this happened, even with the faa trying to dramatically improve rules and training and safety standards, didn’t matter. That’s how special Davey was. NASCAR was still a small regional thing and yet Davey passing away this way went mainstream and affected many industries and totally changed the aircraft and air travel industry forevermore.
..yes, for me too..seeing him all banged up with racing injuries, you expected that if he were to go, it would be in a racing accident..much like my disbelief that Dale Sr. died in what looked to be "not that bad a crash", when he walked away several times from what looked like much worse....
I waited a week to go to Bessemer & there were so many flowers that we didn’t know where he really was buried, but a groundskeeper led us over, walked us to Clifford & Pop’s gravesite also. It was just too sad. But I do remember someone had left a quarter & three pennies on his marker. I always leave 3 pennies on mom’s grave now.
OMG! I just adored Davey! He was my fav. drivers. I was young but I loved racin and this just broke my heart. I didn’t watch anymore for a long time after that. They’re were several drivers who wrecked and got hurt or died within the next few years. It was BAD 😢 We still love you Davey!! #NEVERFORGET. ❤️😇
Strange comment. Even IF he ever would have won a Championship, what makes you think he would win a specific number ? You just pulled that from the air.
I WAS IN TORONTO ON A FLIGHT WITH A STOP OVER TO HALIFAX WHEN I HEARD. WE HAVE MEMORIES. I HAVE PICTURES OF YOU AND ALAN KULWICKI IN MICHIGAN. WE LOVE YOU BROTHER AND WE MISS YOU. NASCAR WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY COOL WITH YOU. I AM SURE YOU WOULD HAVE WON MANY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Thank you very much I know this is late, but thanks for the little bit of info on Davey, and thank you for beautiful pictures of Talladega super speed way that's some view down the grandstand towards the straight and around that turn,I hadn't made up my mind yet to chase a job driving a stock car, versus a motorcycle, but I started being serious NASCAR fan just as Davey was starting to make his mark, and I always thought that havoline car was best looking car,and the one I always dreamed about driving, don't know why the look really should have mattered, but it did so I became a fan,I car crazy anyway, collect em and fix em and drive em,that's all.thanks again and God bless.
Very sad day for the Alabama Gang , his family & 1000’s of fans.. He had unlimited potential as a nascar driver.. My brother Kevin & I worshipped the # 28.. My brother passed away almost 3 years ago, hopefully he got to meet our hero ..Gone but Never Forgotten, R.I.P Davey & Kevin ❣️
They say Earnhardt was tough! Davey wrecked and his brother died! Lost the Championship by 3 points. Then died the next year! Davey left it all on and off the track! Wasn't the bad guy of Nascar. What a great loss before anybody ever heard of Dale Earnhardt. Royalty of Nascar! R.I.P. Davey and Clifford Allison! SHAWN
Davie was my guy when he lost his life. No question he would have won multiple driving Championships had he lived. Imagine him in the mix during the pinnacle of NASCAR in the mid to late 90’s. I later became a huge Dale Jarrett fan when he filled in the #28 ride after Ernie got so seriously injured and then eventually got his own team with RYR. We lost Davie way too soon.
I remember it was the ford image for the THUNDERBIRD SC ads in 2004 I was able to buy one and I had a D Allison sticker in his honor, I only knew who he was for advertising and racing but I admired him very much, from Mexico city 🇲🇽
I saw all my favorites in Sonoma Ca. back in the early 90s. Petty, Earnhardt, Kulwicki, Davey Allison. Not the best place for Nascar to run cars but a great place to get autographs. I couldn't get Pettys, he was my all time favorite. He was right in front of me but there was a fence and Petty was too tired from racing. So I moved down further where the big car haulers were parked to get an autograph from whoever I ran across . Davey was signing autographs and there was a lady there with her young boy. He couldn't quite reach up high to get Davey's autograph so I signaled to his mother if she wanted me to lift him to reach Davey and she smiled and, said please! Davey seemed like a nice guy to me even though Earnhardt and King Richard were my favs. Not long after that Davey passed and Kulwicki, then Earnhardt. I stopped watching racing for a about 10 years. It's a little different with racing today with the newer drivers but I feel the spirit that D. Allison, A. Kulwicki, and D.Earnhardt brought to Nascar will live on forever.
To make it still worse, the track took down the Allison grandstand, on the back stretch of the track, and that was the BEST place to watch the races, there. I was sitting there, every race from 1999 to 2013. Total of 27 glorious races. The best being Earnhardt's 76th, and final win, in 2000. The fans went INSANE, and I thought those stands were going to collapse! What a race!
I’m from Hueytown. I grew up down the street from Donnie Allison’s house. I met Davey red Bobby Neil Donnie Clifford . I remember the Alabama gang very well. This was all a part of my childhood.
To me, this was the day that the “Davey Allison curse” began. Since Davey’s last win there had not been one driver by anybody from Alabama to win at NASCAR’s top series.
That is when Nascar was the best. To me, it really sucks now. RIP Davey.
It's still the same!

Davey's personality and character is beyond compare he was a genuine human being with a true heart and love of his family His fans and his friends 28 is my favorite number because of Davey Ford is my favorite car because of Davey I loved him like a big brother and would have loved to have met him .... Davey Allison...forever28
God I miss those days.... Can't believe it's almost 30 years ago.
I'm 58 now and I'm worried about what kind of world we are going to leave for Keith Richards and RED FARMER. 😀
RIP DAVEY
I still remember when the news came out how it happened. My reaction, "wait, he was involved in a serious crash involving a whaaat?!" I was in disbelief because many athletes will travel by air & arrive at their destination in one peace. The fact that this happened being helicopter as opposed to a stock car, I was in total shock that this could happen because the likelihood of a NASCAR driver's death is more likely to happen on the track behind the wheel of a car. Will always remember the kid even after these near 24 years.
Jorge Martinez Bill Elliott was said to have gotten rid of his chopper.
It’s like that era was really bad for air crafts. Davey died from a helicopter accident and Allen kulwiki Deidesheim from a plane crash
Davey was the man! No doubt about it!! I lost my hero he's missed to this day..your still my hero!
Davey was really good back then and whom knows what might of been.
My favorite driver as a kid!
Davey Allison set the bar and definition of what it means to be a race car driver
28 years ago today R.I.P. 😔
Carraway used to be the best hospital in Birmingham. Now it's abandoned. Just a shame what happened to Davey and the rest of the gang.
Davey was and will always be my HERO. RIP SIR.
MY FAVORITE DRIVER EVER
Boa noite !!!!
Meu DEUS, que tristeza.....
Que DEUS o tenha em um bom lugar.
Muito obrigado pelo vídeo e parabéns pelo canal.
Abraço do Brasil.....
i miss him so much.. My fav all time driver...... and I believe he would of won 6 or maybe 7 c-ships.. He will always be a legend, in my book
Strange comment. Even IF he ever would have won a Championship, what makes you think he would win a specific number ? You just pulled that from the air.

Your the second person I've seen whose been able to temper the crowd by imparting a strong dose of reality in this matter.
3 decades later January 2020 Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi and others suffered the same date just hours before the Royal Rumble WWE PPV.
I went to Talladega three weeks after the crash. I saw still damaged fence.
SHAWN
I haven't watched nascar since SR died but davey was a great driver..i never watched Nascar the same after davey passed.
g1
R.i.p to neil bonnett who died a year later, who was mentioned in this video
Davie was my guy when he lost his life. No question he would have won multiple driving Championships had he lived. Imagine him in the mix during the pinnacle of NASCAR in the mid to late 90’s. I later became a huge Dale Jarrett fan when he filled in the #28 ride after Ernie got so seriously injured and then eventually got his own team with RYR. We lost Davie way too soon.
I will never forget saw it on tv thats was a sad day
My name is Krysta also. May not be spelled the same but literally when I heard his daughters name I was in tears
One if the best NASCAR drivers ever!
1.38, you can tell by his feet he's gone.
RIP Davey, what was and could have been is never forgotten.
He will alway be fast in my heart
To make it still worse, the track took down the Allison grandstand, on the back stretch of the track, and that was the BEST place to watch the races, there. I was sitting there, every race from 1999 to 2013. Total of 27 glorious races. The best being Earnhardt's 76th, and final win, in 2000. The fans went INSANE, and I thought those stands were going to collapse! What a race!
Maybe the 2nd to last sentence explains the first.
I’ll never forget that day. RIP #28!
Davey would have won some of those Gordon and Jimmie Johnson titles.
Kobe also passed in a helicopter crash.
We remember Davey
An uncrowned champion
He certainly would have won many races, broke alot of records, and won even more championships.
Well, he didnt win that race that day, thats for dayum sho!!!
I still miss him.
I love nascar families I am a fan of nascar race car love you USA god bless america
Can’t believe it’s 25 years
RIP Davey Allison 1993
RIP Kobe Bryant 2020
I still remember this like it was yesterday
My favourite driver of all times, when Davie died so did my interest in NASCAR , haven't been to or watched s race sence
Davey will always be the best!... next to Bobby. I sure do miss him😔
Alison, Petty, and Dunlop families gave many lives to racing fans and they will not be forgotten.
Allisons were no competition to Petty
