Didn’t get a chance to address this before but gonna address and pin it now.
There was not ONE moment I said I didn’t know who Jackie Chan was. I actually said his name at one point if you were listening. When I called him an “old man” I was speaking about Mr.Han. As I always tell you guys, I’m talking about the character NOT the actor.
You are So Beautiful As Hell! ❤️ 😳🤤 9:55
What gets me every time about this movie is that a little kid helped a grown man pick himself back up after a tragic loss
Facts
I mean, same thing in Good Will Hunting, except the kid wasn't nearly as young.
The concept is nice one, indeed!
Goated movie @@ivankawnartist
fuckin dumbass bro done lost his whole family of course it would be hard for him to pick himself up
❤
Jayden Smith was actually a very good actor as a kid..
Okay-ish, maybe. Not "very good" by any means. He has ONE scene in this where he digs deep and gives a credible performance. And that is the scene where he yells at his mother for moving them to China. The pacing he does, the heavy frustrated breathing that's all very good and it's the ONE performance that's "very good." The rest is just typical "child acting."
Chan also said he had alot of potential as a martial artist ....
Alot of missed potential for him on multiple points
I don't actually disagree with his potential; I think he DID have some. However recently I've been seeing some videos dissecting Will's parenting style and essentially calling it setting Jayden up for failure by NOT giving him experienced advice. It's one of the reasons Jayden has been seen doing too many things and never actually committing or following through. He HAD potential but no one took the responsibility of guiding that potential. They just let it fade away.
At one point Will even made a "joke" about one of his movies that came out almost at the exact same time as his daughter's. What he had said was "Baby I love you; but Daddy's gonna have to crush you at the Box Office." And he DID. her movie went utterly unnoticed while his got ASLL the attention. So much so that I don't even remember the title of her movie. That's how little recognition her movie got.
Can you imagine having an ego so inflated that you'd CHOOSE to release your own movie at the same time as your own child's and even make a tasteless joke in an interview about it?? That right there lit up a light bulb in my head, that maybe, just MAYBE Will wasn't quite the humble grounded human being his image presents. I mean we all see what becoming important did to The Rock. Man became highly trusted with DC and his influence had him SKIP the intro phase and totally REMOVE the connection of Black Adam's origin to Shazam and what happened?? His movie flopped HARD. it was a 25 foot belly flop. Watching that movie physically made me ill and mentally punished me. lol. I really DO hope Bad Boys; Ride or Die is good because his past is getting looked at and it's not painting the same picture as his PR team.
@@patrickcromwell7554 Actors don't choose when movies come out wealthy studio executives do. You got to realize Will Smith has been in blockbusters for decades and his daughter is just starting out. In no way was her movie even gonna be as big as his.
For her movie to be remembered she would of had to had a memorable performance. Children of actors tend not to be as good because they don't have the need to try as hard they grew up rich.
When people born in the early 2000s think that 2010 was the early 2000s when it was actually the early 2010s 😅
2000s kids where the generation that watched this movie because they were 10 at that time therefore its a 2000s film to them 😂
@@OgBobby42I understand what you mean I'm born in 02 and I still watch it at a young age
It’s the late 2000s that’s all
Thats not what she meant. Shes referring to the soundtrack 😭 which consists of early-late2000s music
@@Green.P3 wouldn't the late 2000s last year be 2009 the 2010's is a new decade
I remember going to see this movie in theaters with my family when I was ten. Taraji, Jackie, and Jaden, plus Never Say Never with Justin Bieber!! If I could go back to that moment as a kid, I would in a HEARTBEAT!!
you and me both
same 😭
It’s not as simple as just staying because your kid loves it. Sometime for the parent have to make adult decisions the child may not want or understand. Life dictates the decisions not your child.
100%
Jaden got in real deal shape for this movie. Plus it helped he was already taking lessons b4 he got it.
Ngl I first read this as Jackie and I lol'd at the joke before realizing XD
You can see that Mr Han doesn't strike any of the boys. He easily could've hurt them, but he let them hit each other.👍🏼
Some people would think that’s abuse… but yea, he technically did make them hit eachother lol
@@That_gloss_bossUsing power dynamics and authority for your advantage against kids is abuse..
@@アキコ2003 oh.
@@アキコ2003 I know that
Lame. That's why Mr. Miyagi is a much better character than Han. When he sees a gang beating up a kid, he gives them a taste of their own medicine, regardless of their age.
Sometimes as a parent u have to make those difficult decisions for the better of the family. U cant "always" let the kids' emotions dictate adult choices. I mran look what happened to dre. He found a girl, a best friend, a love for kung fu, respect from his peers, and a father figure.
As a Martial Artist I thought this movie was amazing when I saw it in theaters Kung Fu is one of my favorite Martial Arts
Kung fu is my favorite too. Learning that martial arts will takes years of training.
@@johnsantos507any martial arts take many years...
Idk much about kung fu I'm a martial artist as well practicing muay thai currently. Mostly a karate user tho, but question... Is kung fu really that good? Like i know it's alot like karate with it having the self defense versus and the hard offence version like for karate it's
Shotokan and Kyouskushin
And kung fu it's
Tai chi and Shaolin arts right?
@@lightningjadejavier I used to be Karate years ago and I'm still rookie.😔
I've trained both Kyouskushin and shotokan, and would love to train kung fu sometimes but idk if i should go the same way i did in karate taking shotokan first then the Kyouskushin version. Like I've heard many times that kung fu has been glorified much in movies. But idk if it's true or not.
Ion think she realized Jackie Chan was Mr. Han😂
she says his name tho
Glad you listened.
I didn't find that out until the beginning of this year 😂
@@MJWITHOUTSPIDERMANplease watch the original as well! Since the original is actually karate and had better storytelling imo.
@@lightningjadejavier Yep in your opinion. Not fact by any means
It’s called the Forbidden City because for centuries the palace complex was accessed only by the royal family and those that had business with the family, commoners weren’t allowed in without permission.
I love how she just tears up at the slightest 😂🫶🏿
I haven’t seen more people react to this thank you for reacting to this❤❤❤

This movie was my favourite when I was younger, Jaiden was my inspiration to take martial arts

@@jimmykarlsson2567 I mean I was like 8 or 9 when this movie came out so for me it was a long time ago
We had it on DVD when I was 6. I remember the press play screen playing ALL NIGHT cause nobody wanted to get up and turn it off😭
@@Seriope lol
I've always loved the first fight scene in the alley with Mr. Han.. he not once hurts them or uses offensive moves, only deflective and defensive.. setting the educational mood of the story..
There's an alternate ending where Mr. Han fought the bad teacher after seeing his students showing respect to Han. It wasn't necessary because the original ending is just the right way to end it.
at the end Dre did what the lady did with the snake
Technically this should be called the "Kung Fu Kid"
Who cares, same shit.

Mr. Han is played by the Great Jackie Chan who is a legend in martial movies going back decades. He got his start as a stunt man in Chinese movies in China and he was even a stunt man in the greatest martial artist (GOAT) BRUCE LEE. There is not a person alive that has not heard of the great Bruce Lee!! Now a days Jackie Chan is a national hero in China!!!
There's absolutely nothing wrong with crying! That just shows us viewers that you have a very big heart💯💯💯
No. He's NOT cheating. The one who intentionally hurt Dre's leg "cheated." But NONE of the others are cheating. There's NO rule about knocking someone OUT of the ring. That's actually very good strategy if you can't win a point. It's on the other person to NOT get knocked out. I find it very strange how people will accuse the antagonist of cheating just because they are better than the protagonist. lol.
It’s not that deep. 🤡
He didn't "INTENTIONALLY" hurt his leg. His pitiful disgusting master forced him. He didn't want to do it
@@KashiKay Yeah that whole just following orders bullshit doesn't work in this case. That kid WANTED to hurt Dre. He didn't HAVE TO. He chose to. Just because someone - even a trainer - tells you to do something, you don't have to do it.
@@patrickcromwell7554 tbh that doesn't apply to an adult telling a child to do something, especially when the adult is important or holds power over that child.
@@patrickcromwell7554 So I guess teacher abuse and manipulation means nothing to you, huh? Yes tf it does work in this case. And I would hope the same happens to you ONLY for you to understand why that boy felt like he had no choice. Liang DID NOT want to hurt Dre and if you had any common sense in paying close attention to details, you'd know that. You're disgusting
I went to see this movie in Theaters when it came out, thanks for reacting to this amazing movie!
MJ if you don't know who that is that's Jackie Chan the man is basically big in China and plus he really know martial arts in real life
He’s big in America too lol
Sad that ppl actually believe that he abused and hates his son Jaycee but jay basically did it to himself lmao😂
The Rush Hour series is fun and amazing with him and Chris Tucker.
@@Ninja_RcKMarino-gh9ufHeard some stuff about his daughter as well. Idk too much about it and alll ik is from media and internet and we know how accurate they are. We don't really know what happend. But alot of rumors going around

Underrated movie, doesn’t deserve the hate. Looking forward to your Karate Kid reactions and hopefully Cobra Kai. 🐍
No i get the hate, i get why it's hated. I'm a new fan of karate kid series literally joined 3 weeks ago watched this first and was snoozing most of it. Then dropped the entire series for a week cause i thought it'd be boring. Then i watched the original. Then the 2nd then the 3rd. Then binged the show. Then the 4th movie... It was THAT good. Of a movie. The og was amazing. Yet i did not felt the same for the remake rewatching the remake now, makes me understand that it didn't have the originals soul. The soul of the original movie.
I feel the exact same. This movie does not deserve the hate it gets
@@lightningjadejavierI never watched the OG until after this one. It's a matter of preference really. I enjoyed this one more than the OGs. People do excessively hate on this one. Maybe if it wasn't connected to the Karate Kid franchise, it would've been more welcomed.
MJ this movie is so dope and it's basically different and similar to the first Karate Kid movie. And if you want to know Will Smith is not in it but he helped produced or something like that on this movie and introduce this movie to his son
I literally watched this movie yesterday during hurricane beryl on my dvd player because the internet was out and now I get to watch it again 😭
For those who don’t know the 2010 karate kid was a remake for the 1984 karate kid but they don’t have one for karate kid 2 1986 and 3 1996
6:02 She knew he contemplated going down to the park. Harry literally said "that's our park. You should come". So Dre's mother knew where he would potentially be
I was in my sophmore year of High School when this remake came out along with Step Up 3D, the hype got real when Justin Bieber blew up.
same here. now im creeping up on 30 lol, 6 months left 😭😭😂😂
Update:
Tron Legacy also came out the same year, which is still awesome by the way.
“NEVER SAY NEVER” 🎶
The fact that Jackie Chan has been doing his own stunts for over decadesss is crazy to me at his age even has his own stunt production that teaches stunt doubles
This is the nicest role I’ve seen taraji play I usually see her playing those psychotic roles😂

Just in case you didn’t know, there’s a deleted scene near the end of the movie where Mr.Han and Master Li have a fight and Mr.Han leans towards the dark side for a moment before Dre snaps him out of it and they walk off camera, Also Dre’s mom gets a lick in on Master Li too

MJ ong shes the best reactor
My family loves this movie!! Jayden did an awesome job! My girls love the song “Never Say Never” I also watched the behind the scenes and production of the movie and they went through some stuff while making it. The bullies in the movie are part of Jackie Chan’s J Team.
You should check out the alternate ending to this movie. The teacher from the red team attacks Mr. Han at the end of the tournament. It's a great fight scene
Here comes the boom with Kevin James.
Kung Fu is the hardest martial art to master. You have to start at about 4 years old and practice discipline. It is not a fighting sport, it was created to protect monks against aggressors and it can be brutal. In real life, it is used only for defense and not offense. Also, it was amazing how Hollywood special effects worked in this film! ☯
Jayden Smith is such a good actor

Hey Hey it's ok MJ to be emotional in that scene where Jackie Chan was crying talking about his past and when he lost his wife and son, that scene still gets me every time I see this movie. The scene with the lady and the cobra is definitely one of my favorite scenes in the movie I always thought that scene was beautiful. The healing with the fire is 100% real.
