Rob, have you tried 6.5 Grendel? It's a pretty solid intermediate round with a ton of bullet options being in the 6.5 caliber. Good for yotes and mid-sized deer and hogs.
Must admit... I do love Gabe's thumbhole black pepper laminate stock on that rifle.
Leupold scopes are fantastic, nice choice. I'd rate them up there with Schmidt and Bender when it comes to a more "serious" pro optic experience.
@LunkersTV Rob I have to say the biggest thing about you that I personally am impressed with is you have the money to go buy what you want but you always say " I just don't want to spend the money" it just makes it easier to relate. Hats off to you, Cheers
That is a sweet set up! Still have my Granpa's 22-250, he used to hunt salt water crocs with it in the NT before it was banned in the 1960s.
The elephant gun never gets old lol.. funniest lunkers moment of all time.
Demo pranking him with dragon's breath was up there as well.
I love a smooth action, I'm a big fan of smaller caliber bolt action rifles because it saves ammo and you can keep things basic and simple, more fun.
22-250 is still expensive unfortunately :/
Love my bergara. My .270 setup stacks rounds easily once i figured out the loads. Also +1 for the Leupold! Best in the business and there customer service cant be compared. I lost my caps on a range day and they next day'd a set for free. Helps they are local to me too
I only use 22short out of my old ruger redhawk with a 4” barrel for everything from mice to elephants. One shot one kill every time.

I use my dads old howa 1500 chambered in 22-250 with a night vision scope in New York and it’s a great caliber great choice
Here in Newfoundland Canada we had such a problem with people poaching moose with 22-250’s they had to banned them during big game season so you can only carry them outside the big game season .

My mom shot her thirteen point buck back in the 1970's with one shot out of her 22-250. Then she never hunted again. My nephew finally beat her last year with a much larger fourteen pointer. It was his first deer also. He borrowed the rifle from a friend of his.

Those tripods are awesome for taking kids hunting my nephew has dropped several deer off mine by far the best thing ever for younger kids that can’t hold up a rifle very long to get a good shot
My brother in-law has that same setup just in 30-06 he loves the scope now that he got the new terit back got the rifle and round 👍🏻
I have a bergara b14 hmr 6.5 creedmore with a deadair can on it and by far my favorite bolt gun. Heavy yes but worth it
I use a setup like that chair and bipod with my rem 700 in .270 for deer. Light and comfortable enough.
The more expensive swagger bipod slide into a rack that mounts to your gun. Makes it way nicer for moving.
My best friend won the big cat calling contest down here in Texas. We use fox pro, but we have a lucky duck too. Gives them a different sound since everybody has fox pro. You’ll like it. Nice set up.

Setup is beautiful what do you think about the new 22arc for that same purpose or is it so new and not that much better that it’s not worth the trouble finding ammo?
A cool caliber that is very similar is the 220 swift but ammo is way harder to find than 22-250.
And quite a bit steeper to pay for when you do find it.
Get one of those decked systems for the truck! Also get Gabe one of those setups for Xmas!

I use a 7mm mag. Power accuracy and flat shooting and a very good range. What are you guys opinions?
3:59 we load ours to about 3600-3800 fps and use 55gr noslers balistic tips. And no we dont use them for antelope 😅

Should have tried a 6 arc killed coyote with mine 1262 yards. But do have a 22-250 for a back up gun and it’s a good gun but my 6 arc shoots a lot flatter and more accurate.

The old outro, if you still have the mpx take the base plate off and cut that plastic down for extra noodles. The springs don't mind even after 5yrs.
