I think we can all agree that InArt forced Hot Toys to stop resting on their laurels. We would never have gotten the Artisan line had InArt not been seen as a threat. But the more i see that Superman the more it doesnt look like Henry to me. Maybe I need to see it in hand
I just got mine and I can say that having it in hand is completely different from seeing pictures/videos. I was really worried before but SO glad I got the figure! You need to see it in hand:)
Force is a stretch, they making figures from different franchises and theres no threat to their ironman sales when Inart is making a LOTR figures. Batman and joker are the only direct head to head since they announced them within the same year. Artisan line is the result of Hot toys realizing there's a market for even more premium products and decide to capture them. In a way, i would say Inart took the huge risk upfront to test the market and hot toys is smart to be a follower this time.
i still haven't got my Inart The Batman. Probably gonna be my first and last figure from them. The waiting time is so ridiculous, while at the same time seeing other people got their Batman making me depressed lmao edit : forgot i POd Paul Atreides lol
- [ ] Great points Will. Im probably a bit older than your typical follower here. I started in my 20’s collecting 3.75” Star Wars figures and sets after finding out my wonderful and very thoughtful mom had surprised me and thankfully put away most of my childhood vintage SW figures and sets that survived my childhood. Than about 10 years ago I discovered this amazing 1/6 scale grade of “toys” that had realism like I had never seen. My point tho a bit long winded is It’s interesting to see how things have evolved. Years ago to see this level of quality we have today you had to seek out underground custom creators who made very small batches and you paid big money. I feel now tho we’re at a really exciting time for collectors where companies big and small are making innovative magnetic bases, seamless forearms, moving eyes, die cast weapons and high realism head sculpts and tailoring standard etc. And I believe Inart albeit its smaller number of figures produced, has directly impacted this standard in raising that bar for big, small & even third party companies to deliver. Either way it’s a win/win for us as collectors as they compete, for the most part quality goes up and sure prices do too but I think your average collector is willing to pay more for quality and realism for licensed figure that they can display proudly. For me personally since you asked us to share, my collection has become a collection of characters from movies and tv that I am obviously passionate about as of late I’m really enjoying creating my own custom/kitbash figures as well as building small dioramas & miniature sets to re-enact my favorite scenes which for me really makes the figure and this hobby come alive as we relive that favorite moment. After all it’s why we collect, for the love of that tv, movie, game or comic. I’d say to folks new to this hobby that there isn’t anything wrong with buying backwards(look at the prices for 1970’s original SW figures) however something new or a newer version is always around the corner in 1/6 scale. Bottom line tho, find your budget and collect what you love and you’ll always be happy.
Love this! I appreciate reading about your journey. You're the man for sharing! I started with black series and marvel legends, then hot toys and statues now.
Honestly I think InArt should stay away from this new tier system they have for their figures. I feel like this detracts from their Image as the “premium” 1/6 figure company because, really, what then makes them premium over hot toys? Especially when hot toys makes figures that definitely rival what we have seen from InArt. I think they should stick to one level, and just differentiate between Rooted and Sculpted. That’s just my 2 cents though
I genuinely think Inart figures are marginally better than Hot Toys and in some instances worse. Throw in all the other issues from them like terrible qc, terrible communication, 6 figures released in 4 years of the company, batches taking forever, it being a pain to get support after their qc strikes, and don’t get me started on the influencer batch. I owned every figure they made until Aragorn but I’ve since sold every one of them and won’t buy another figure from them again. I just can’t and won’t support them.
The figures themselves feel hefty and the materials high quality as hell and the articulation is leaps and bounds better than HT. But I’ve literally got like 2 inarts missing a hand or 2 of the same hands. Lol
Awesome video and a fresh point of view and transparency! I have not headed down the InArt rabbit hole yet but I am definitely leaning towards giving them a shot! Thank you for your time putting this video together! We all as collectors appreciate all that you do!!! Strong work 💪🏻💪🏻
For new collectors, now its the best timing to collect hot toys since sale everywhere whether be MCU, Starwars and DC lines while Inart's product are basically nonexistence. I had big plans about shifting to INart when they showed their phase 1 plans, but now i dont even want to think about it, less than 5 years we already seen how they changed from being helpful to ignoring the community completely, cant support these behaviors.
Hot Toys have better headsculpts, Inart have better clothes. HT faints when it comes to making a draped cape. Batmen and Doctor Strange all suffer from it. Inart should also eliminate its influencer batch.
I’d like to collect InArt but without payment plans like sideshow it’s too expensive. Also too limited. Like the Black Myth figure. Hopefully down the line they change these things, till then out of my range. Like I said if it wasn’t for payment plans through SS I wouldn’t have a majority of my hot toys collection.
Let’s talk about PureArts recent Geralt of Rivia. Real leather and metal….. But InArt forced Hot Toys to step up. Maybe IA is marginally better, but between the amount of characters HT has and the consistent release times I’ll take HT. My HT The Batman is great and I don’t think I miss my cancelled IA Batman
Personally, I don't think Inart are better both comapnies are amazing but Hot Toys all day for me just because they make more characters than Inart and their a bit cheaper.
Great video. I think for me the biggest question is, is Inart worth it? And for me it’s no. My biggest complaint is no US distributor. So purchasing these figures isn’t as easy as just hopping onto sideshows website. And then dealing with any potential returns. The limited availability, long wait times, etc are all more factors that just has me sticking to Hot Toys. Maybe in 5 years and they’re still around they’ll have figured out all of these issues.
Are they better in the sense that their figures look more accurate (over all) and offer better, more accurate accessories? Sure. Are they worth the substantial price increase for marginal gains? Nope. Especially compared to HT's recent releases. Besides, why offer so many accessories that will just sit in the box but inflates costs?
INART got me into this hobby, and their craftsmanship is truly stunning. Since then, I’ve added several Hot Toys and two INART figures to my collection, and to me, they’re simply not comparable. Unboxing an INART figure is a premium experience from start to finish, whereas HT feels more like a “product” or toy in comparison. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy unboxing HT figures, some of them are absolutely beautiful, but unboxing an INART figure hits differently and is always a thrill. I do hope they address their QC issues and improve some design elements in the future, like the base magnets
I have two InArt figures (Gandalf and Aragorn) and they're incredible. The 2022 Batman also looks significantly better than the HT version from what I've seen.
The only thing from inart that I have is the bat signal because they gave her more realism detail to it compared to hot toys that looks a little bit more cheap this company gives a much more realistic detail and they have mastered rooted hair a lot better compared to Hot Toys if it wasn't for that company hot toys wouldn't step their game up and give us Artisan Edition as well as better diorama bases and rolling I technology in all of their figures going forward that is more than just the Luxe getting that treatment this company has produced better packaging in their figures and they give a more premium package like every figure gets the Iron Man treatment compared to Hot Toys doing their now and then premium packaging but mostly clamshell which I feel they should get rid of but I have nothing bad to say about inart the figures have been very detailed however very expensive and I understand why with the major treatment that they're putting in the product that company would most likely not get anything from me but I appreciate them existing because that is what was needed for hot toys to step up their game and they're going to be doing a lot of that in 2025
@ the company itself and their problems don’t make up for any marginal improvements on hot toys in my opinion. Their figures are good if and when they ever come out
I think overall, Inart figures are indeed better, but Hot Toys is leagues better at the logistical process of shipping and distributing their figures. The thing I love most about inart right now though is that they let Hot Toys know that their 'top dog' position can and will be taken from them if they grow complacent, forcing Hot Toys to improve the way they do things.
I don't understand why this is still a question. Obviously the average quality of both companies shows inart is better. Competition is good. Hot toys releases stinkers. Artisans? Pffft, inart crushes then. See that Uman 1/6? Or the new Geraldt for $350? Both those companies crush HT. HT's are the low end of high end collecting. And the price is too high when they use an eithgh of an ounce of die-cast metal and low quality LED. Inart + any premium brand > HT. But HT ROCKS non matter what, cuz they make so much awesome stuff
Hot toys joker is better than inart. I have the Joaquin 4 pack on PO and for those that got the hot toys single pack you're likely better off. Inart is good, it's fine, but they need to get their s#%t together for sure when it comes to distribution and manufacturing. Product quality is good...probably not better than hot toys when hot toys decides to bring the heat.
In my honest opinion, no, they are not better than hot toys. I really dislike the Inart Aragorn, and their Joker doesn't look as good as the one by Hot Toys
Yeah but I don't know inarts always look down long arms and and there head scales. I don't know I own 3 inarts and yeah love em but I'm still hot toys.
Excellent video! I have been collecting Hot Toys figures for nearly five years now, and I recently received the Batman figure from INART. The quality, packaging, and box are superior to those of Hot Toys. However, I will only purchase figures from INART for characters that truly interest me and with whom I have a personal connection…
I’m glad these are just opinions. I have seen some In Art 1/6th in person and love the competition but that being said InArt sucks the big one. Hot Toys definitely is not perfect by any means but seriously stop championing this company especially when they can’t even deliver the product to the customers door. Anyone who orders these InArt figures should be a VIP and not have to wait 6 months or more just to get their order fulfilled. At the end of the day I’m going to stick to the proven company who delivers time and time again.
@@danatonejah7219 yes marginally, but that doesnt outshine HT if you take into account of the long waiting time, QC, and project cancelation like they did in Phase 1 project plan.
You're right. Because to compare Inart to HT who've been getting up to that speed both quality-wise and timewise (and STILL take a year or two to release figures) is indeed ridiculous...
For me personally, both companies have their 👍hits and 👎misses! For example the InArt Superman is a huge disappointment for me. I was expecting A LOT MORE from InArt, but in the end it turned out to be just a moderate upgrade of the Superman by Hot Toys. What I personally expect from both companies: 1. Phicen-like bodies with better bio-mechanics. 2. Built-in rechargeable batteries in the bodies and far more innovative lighting solutions. 3. More premium materials like high-end polycarbonate and die-cast. 4. Interchangeable parts between figures ❗ We are collectors and none of us owns just one figure. Being able to swap parts between figures is important to all of us. And of course, this is only and entirely my personal opinion !
I always enjoy your videos Will, there is no way InArt is better than HT…to me they are another high end 1/6th licensed company to HT…which is a good thing cause they are forcing HT to step up their creativity but also their costs…so i guess that is positive and negative at the same time😂😂😂😂
I think we can all agree that InArt forced Hot Toys to stop resting on their laurels. We would never have gotten the Artisan line had InArt not been seen as a threat. But the more i see that Superman the more it doesnt look like Henry to me. Maybe I need to see it in hand

the biggest positive change in Hot Toys since InArt is introducing movable eyes to basically every new figure. That's an amazing change.
Force is a stretch, they making figures from different franchises and theres no threat to their ironman sales when Inart is making a LOTR figures. So InArt stopped responding to Will's emails but he still defends them? That's true love!
