1 hour waiting is normal. Once I had to wait until 6pm and it was in Athens Greece. Reason being the room was occupied by an Arab family. Half a day I sleep on the sofa in the lobby and to pacify my anger they offered me hot choc and greeks bread. When I went to check at the reception the guy next to me asked where are u from. I said Malaysia and he said oh malaysian.. malaysians are so patient

I work in a hotel and during lockdown, we had to reduce staffing and those who are lucky to be kept in roster were being paid a half month salary. Meaning we were required to take 2 weeks unpaid leave. So most of the staffs who were let go, went home to their kampungs to help their parents or start their own business. So when travel restrictions were lifted, locals were already tired of staying in their own homes and wanted to ‘travel’ - so hotels started to fill up by local guests. Our challenge post-lockdown: operating on minimal staffing, difficulty in hiring trained employees, the constant worry of having to cover jobs for colleagues who are positive with covid or were close contact cases and on top of it all, dealing with various local guest’s quirks and demands. We really tried to give our all but situation does not favour us sometimes. So sorry if you had a bad experience checking in. As someone who worked in the service industry for 11 years, believe me when I say, that is the last thing we want for our guests.

Waiting to check -in for accommodation is now common in Malaysia especially during weekends. Not only for this hotel, you can check the review of hotels and if you can check in within 30 min after you arrived, it's a blessing. Its worst if they give you wrong room/occupied room or room that have been decorated for someone else. I guess its due to short of staff and too many guest, esp now with on-line check-in which supposed to be faster. Not to mention some stupid selfish guest that do not check-out on time to allow enough time to clean the room, and some STUPID DIRTY guest that made the hotel room like their own rubbish n junkyard that made the housemaid clean one room for 2 -3 hours.
True. Few weeks ago, there was a thread on twitter about the situation in Penang. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm but they only actually managed to check in at 8pm. Our hotel industry let go so many staff members during the pandemic but don't think they've re-hired as many as they let go.

Actually sekarang semua hotel mcm tu sekarang esp at big hotels. Took hours to check-in. My tips is.. kalau dia kata check-in pkul 2, you datang je ke kaunter sejam lebih awal. Takde masalah. Yang buat dia lama sbb kena que-up. Sbb semua orang dtg nk check-in at same time.. which is at 2pm. Di situ silapnya kita. Either you come 1 hour earlier or come 1-2 hours later! So far, i buat mcm tu, takde problem pun. 😉👍🏻

I have had many complaints from my friends when they started to stay at all the local hotels right after the recent opening from the lockdown. Unfortunately, all had bad experience. Hopefully, the hospitality industry will get their manpower, training and service up to par soon. As for the wedding, you all look GREAT! I was really touched to hear your comments to Syafiq. 0:30 Sad to say slow hotel check in is becoming a norm in post-lockdown Malaysia. Happened to us in Penang and Langkawi last month. I was told it was mainly due to lack of staff, especially chamber maids and cleaning staff, so couldn't get the rooms ready in time for new incoming guests. Why the lack of staff now but not before? Apparently during the lockdown/MCO most hotels shut down and reduced their employees drastically but now on re-opening finding it difficult to get the right trained employees. Also I was told most of the chambermaids before were foreign migrant workers from Indonesia who probably had returned to their country.
Bingo! Not only Indons, Bangladeshis too. That's the main reason for the delay in room cleanliness. The foreign workers did a splendid job in housekeeping and because of COVID, most of them had to wait to be vaxxed. Even some decided to return home after many years in Malaysia and found it not feasible to live here for long. What happens then? The staffs in different Departments in the hotel were instructed to do the housekeeping! Yuppp! You hear me right cause that's what happened to me! That's why hotels are facing short of manpower in the Housekeeping & Reservation Department during this pandemic! 🙄😏 Many of my friends who studied Hotel Management/Catering have shifted their interest to another industry. 😶🤷🏻♀️
Sorry for your bad experience in the few mins of the video logesh! Happened to us before when we went to staycation with friends before. Waited for 1 long hours and we have to push them until they gave us the key. Hope everything was doing well afterwards ! Love your videos as always! ❤️❤️
I’m gonna teach you one samping trick that I learn when I joined malay traditional dance performances. Because we were dancing, so theres a lot of movement and high possibilities for the sampin to “terlondeh”. So we usually tie a rope (tali rafia) around the waist before folding the samping down. Not necessarily tali rafia though, sometimes we just use pieces of cloth to tie around our waist. I still use this trick every hari raya though, and no one ever notice 😅
As someone who used to work in hotels, even before pre-Covid era, late check ins can happen especially on periods where we were fully booked and short on staff. So hopefully you'll understand the delay on the hotel's side is inevitable. But if you're upset with the fact the staff was rude or didn't offer explanation, then it's fine. Just don't expect check-ins during this period of time to be smooth sailing.
Bos, trick pakai sampin ialah, kau pakai kat paras perut, sambil tarik nafas. Lepas tu gulung sampin tu naik. Bila dah cun, kemudian lepas nafas. Barula sampin tu muat dan snug. Kalau kau pakai paras dada, gulung kebawah, dia ikut saiz dada masa ko tarik nafas (dada kembang). Sebab tu dia loose. No worries, boleh cuba lagi. Sampai berjaya.

Hotel now very fragile, any time they'll close, once there's cases prior to cv19. Probably staff is 50% from pre cv19 era. Housekeeping is terrible, kitchen staff affected...😢

Hey Logesh, I am one of ur earlist subscriber. I am a bit disappointed by your comments regarding late check in. I am a hotelier for years. I am telling u the situation in Malaysia hotels right now are getting better. We are in the midst of recovery from the pandemic however the biggest challenge for us right now is short of operation staff. We are all trying our best to deliver. The HODs from most of the hotels are all rolling their sleeves doing ur beds n cleaning ur bathrooms. Please bear with us during this difficult times. Be more considerate n spare a thought for us hoteliers. Tq.

On a separate note, I have been seeing a lot of issues with hotels and restaurants recently. My guess is that they are facing severe staff shortages due to the pandemic and most of the foreign workers are unable to re-enter the country to resume employment. Still Glenmarie is an IHG property (which owns Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and other chains) and I expect better from them.

I’m gonna teach you one samping trick that I learn when I joined malay traditional dance performances. Because we were dancing, so theres a lot of movement and high possibilities for the sampin to “terlondeh”. So we usually tie a rope (tali rafia) around the waist before folding the samping down. Not necessarily tali rafia though, sometimes we just use pieces of cloth to tie around our waist. I still use this trick every hari raya though, and no one ever notice 😅

As someone who used to work in hotels, even before pre-Covid era, late check ins can happen especially on periods where we were fully booked and short on staff. So hopefully you'll understand the delay on the hotel's side is inevitable. But if you're upset with the fact the staff was rude or didn't offer explanation, then it's fine. Just don't expect check-ins during this period of time to be smooth sailing.

Kalau kau pakai paras dada, gulung kebawah, dia ikut saiz dada masa ko tarik nafas (dada kembang). Sebab tu dia loose.

Hotel now very fragile, any time they'll close, once there's cases prior to cv19. Probably staff is 50% from pre cv19 era. Housekeeping is terrible, kitchen staff affected...😢

Hey Logesh, I am one of ur earlist subscriber. I am a bit disappointed by your comments regarding late check in. I am a hotelier for years. I am telling u the situation in Malaysia hotels right now are getting better. We are in the midst of recovery from the pandemic however the biggest challenge for us right now is short of operation staff. We are all trying our best to deliver. The HODs from most of the hotels are all rolling their sleeves doing ur beds n cleaning ur bathrooms. Please bear with us during this difficult times. Be more considerate n spare a thought for us hoteliers. Tq.

The light fuchsia pink colour baju kurung complements Rachel's skin tone perfectly. Looking gorgeous! Of course, the guys look dashing as well. On a separate note, I have been seeing a lot of issues with hotels and restaurants recently. My guess is that they are facing severe staff shortages due to the pandemic and most of the foreign workers are unable to re-enter the country to resume employment. Still Glenmarie is an IHG property (which owns Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and other chains) and I expect better from them.
