Just my thoughts as I am going through the video - I think V shaped neck or style that shows just a bit of cleavage of top looks really good on you. Or if you have a few buttons loosened up on a shirt. And the tops that looked really good had a "wrap" or were tight on your waist and boobs but had puffy sleeves looked awsome too!

After retiring from my marketing executive profession, I had soooooo many clothes! I decided to sort by category, starting with jeans. I found 28 pair of jeans!!! My decision criteria was: it had to fit comfortably and look good and fit in my new lifestyle. I ended with 6 pair. Then I moved on to shirts/blouses. Then slacks, dresses, skirts, blazets/jackets. I donated 12 black trash bags full. Another clothing declutter is needed, especially for slacks, sweaters and shirts. That'll happen after I declutter the rest of my house!

I started decluttering my stuff at 22, I'm 25 now. And giiirl, the amount of clothes that I eventually got rid off and that I only got cause they were on sale. I noticed there were tons of pieces I didn't really liked or didn't fit me. I'm glad that I'm making better choices when it comes to buy clothes
It's eye-opening how certain shapes of clothes suit someone while others don't. You seemed to know what suited you instinctively. Good to steamline your wardrobe down to what you'll wear and enjoy wearing.
Thank you for being so honest and taking us along with your decision making. Have you ever done a colour type? Usually with a consultant you can find out your skin tone (summer, winter, spring, fall) and what colours suit that best. For me it answered why i would like a piece of clothing or the colour but not on me. On this video you can see what colours light you up and which don´t. Ofcourse you can break the rules. But you can usually find your favorite colour in your type. Or wear the colour further from your face like a low cut top or in a trousers or skirt.

I did the same thing a few years ago. I now buy with intent and purpose. My closet is broken into short sleeve, long sleeve, pants, dresses/shirt/dress up.
The red high neckline sleeves looks incredible on you. It’s like you instantly lost 20 pounds and look so sophisticated. I think your choices were pretty good and mostly flattering. Fun to watch

Great declutter! The thing that’s wrong with the beige coat is pockets right in the side seams. They always bunch up and add bulk in the hip. To avoid at all costs in all clothing (unless extra hip is what you want), imo. Look for clothing with pockets in the front if needed and without flaps on top. Much sleeker and comfier, I think.

Hi Carla, you did amazing, as a plus size minimalist who have a lot of fluctuations of weight(I go from 42 to 46) I know it can be hard to build a good closet, here some things that I learn: 1. Know your style, it's very important, that eliminate 90% of wrong buys, my style it's feminine romantic. 2. Don't keep clothes that don't fit you, unless they very special, have good quality or you know they gonna fit ( I only keep 2 or 3 pieces). 3.Know your body and dress for that body. 4.invest on good quality classic pieces. More quality, less quantity. 5. Make your on rules, there's a lot of list of what to have, in my opinion the lists don't work for everybody. It's been 6 years since I started my journey on minimalism and finally I have a closet that I love everything. I think you're style it's very similar to mine, feminine and romantic.

I find with my wardrobe I have things that aren’t my style but I think they are cute so it’s so hard to purge them, idk why being honest with ourselves is so hard lol for something so not serious.

You mentioned that you want to clarify your style. You appear to like a classic style. Go online and check that style out. Very helpful when buying. You’ll probably find that when you do, you’ll want to declutter baggy loose tops, sweaters, sweatshirts, etc. And you’re right, you deserve to look and feel good even when dog walking.

This was a satisfying declutter and I am inspired to wear my loved pieces more often ❤ and go through my mess again! One of my favorite skirts is a pink, tulle, midi skirt by Akira. I'm 33 years old and am not afraid to draw attention, and neither should you!!

The pink dress at the 6minute mark, That color compliments you sooo well! Now begins the hunt to find more dresses in that color! Also the square necklines are so complimentary to your body! A lot of the tops that were a ‘yes’ had that neckline! For example the peasant tops. This video has inspired me to go through my clothes! Thank you Carla!

Hi Carla, you did amazing, as a plus size minimalist who have a lot of fluctuations of weight(I go from 42 to 46) I know it can be hard to build a good closet, here some things that I learn:
1. Know your style, it's very important, that eliminate 90% of wrong buys, my style it's feminine romantic.
2. Don't keep clothes that don't fit you, unless they very special, have good quality or you know they gonna fit ( I only keep 2 or 3 pieces).
3.Know your body and dress for that body.
4.invest on good quality classic pieces. More quality, less quantity.
5. Make your on rules, there's a lot of list of what to have, in my opinion the lists don't work for everybody.
It's been 6 years since I started my journey on minimalism and finally I have a closet that I love everything.
I think you're style it's very similar to mine, feminine and romantic.

I am excited to have that kind of simple wardrobe full of only the things I absolutely adore and that fit me like a glove!! still defining my style but I keep hearing romantic feminine (which I don't know how I missed!) thank you and yes I agree...ALWAYS make your own rules!!

I find with my wardrobe I have things that aren’t my style but I think they are cute so it’s so hard to purge them, idk why being honest with ourselves is so hard lol for something so not serious.
It’s sooooooooo hard!! Over time it does get clearer and clearer. I plan on doing a recheck in six months and I’m sure I’ll see more clearly even then!😄

You mentioned that you want to clarify your style. You appear to like a classic style. Go online and check that style out. Very helpful when buying. You’ll probably find that when you do, you’ll want to declutter baggy loose tops, sweaters, sweatshirts, etc. And you’re right, you deserve to look and feel good even when dog walking.
