So, yeah this is a weird rules interaction and it's not the first time I've seen this and it made me raise an eyebrow on my first time too. So Charge rules is once you start moving you can't make a turn but moving forward isn't a straight line from the base it's actually in your forward arc, so you have the front 90' from your facing to move "forward" in so you can end up moving, for example, 4" in some direction off to the Titans slight left then the next 8" to the Titans slight right if you were a Warhound. Kinda like this, /\ ,but not as extreme of angles. This would also count as 12" of movement so you'd get +4 to the Dice value of smash attacks from this theoretical Warhound.
Sorry I’m aware of the move within front arc but it looks like the Titan has moved in an L sharpe. I’m assuming it’s the camera angle or something but it defo looks odd.
@@jamesbaker7577 No no, that's precisely what I mean, the Warhound was probably rotated to face the enemy Warhound then moved 45' to the right about 5" (which would have been within its arc) and then moved the rest of its movement 45' to the left so it looks like it has made a 90' angle but it's never turned its facing after the initial turn
I think we are talking at crossed purposes here. I understand what you meant and appreciate that’s probably what happend but the angles don’t look possible and it’s probably just the camera angles. I have seen plenty of rules mistakes on bat reps and just like to ensure that they stay as good as possible so that players don’t learn bad habits etc.
Yeah, this does look a little strange on camera - I remember we did check multiple times as it got a little janky. @Carmadforever's description is accurate, in that I angled the hound and then zig-zagged to get to the target. It did require a pretty precise rotation and getting the rotation dial things out to make it work, but the hound was just able to move to its right, then move back to its left (all in its front arc) and got Duggie's hound just in arc and within 1". Looking at the clip again and our terrain collection, I realise I could've made it somewhat simpler, as those rock pieces are about 3" high. I could therefore have gone directly over the rock (although not the part where they're double-stacked, of course) as the terrain is blocking terrain that's half or less than the titan in question's scale! - Alex
Poo! Got a rule wrong. 35 minutes ish. The direction of the shot is from weapon not the blast! My bad!
Yay, Titanicus! I've recently picked up the game thanks to Bottom of the barrel battle reports!
Oh, adding the rotating shots of the titans during list walk-through was a really great idea! Please do this for a BFG game too
I also got Titanicus after watching BOTB , look forward to more reports.
After the clarification from GW, Earthshaker Mines goes off before the Charge, it's now in the Maximal Fire pack...
Liking the turntable showing off the titans
How did the warhound charge on 37.00? I looks like it’s had to move around a corner?
