Everyone is not a teacher. There should be standards on how students are taught to drive and YOU should be hired to teach the teachers.

What you mentioned is exactly what I'm dealing with now. I don't blame the trainer, but when I was backing into the stores, I wasn't learning what to do, but instead I was just listening to his directions: Turn here, straight back there, get under your trailer. Now I'm on my own and I'm struggling to back since I'm having to try to figure out things on my own.

@@theoneandonlynophoney1864 The same way a person can receive their non cdl license but can’t parallel good. You’ve never done something just good enough to pass but still don’t understand the full concept? Cmon think a little.

@@theoneandonlynophoney1864 As they said, when you go to school, you learn enough to understand and pass, but you don't get any good at it until you go out into the real world and start trying. Same as a regular license. You pass, but you're not really a good driver until a couple months in of actual driving
You could learn everything in the book and have it memorized, but you need time in the truck to actually be good.

Your description in the beginning of how trainers try to teach you is spot on. I kept asking that they tell what they are trying to get me to do, not what to do. Give me the big picture, or tell the theory...they never got what I was trying to say.

Good evening Sir. Your video has been extremely helpful. I've been driving trucks for years. And today my boss called me to back up his trailer through a narrow S and straighten it up. Only thing is I had to be avoiding a tree limb that couldn't clear the truck head and the space was not big enough on the opposite side to line up after going through the bends forcing me to over steer the truck putting the trailer out of line. After seeing your video. I realized I was doing everything ok just didn't have the space to straighten up the whole rig. I should have done as you said, and got out and looked at the maneuver to see it couldn't be done easily with so many obstacles in the small space. Thanks again.

This is exactly the type of training I'm getting at school I'm tired of it and your right I feel like a damn robot it's so irritating and I've removed myself from the seat plenty of times. I've cried and I'm looking into getting help with my skills elsewhere. It's been 3 months and the skills are really hard for me! Thank you so very much and yes please keep making videos for us new drivers 👏👏👏😊

Thank you so much. I am in a cdl school now and myself and a couple of other students keep getting in exactly the situations you're describing and we're doing exactly what you Demonstrated that you have seen other new drivers do. After which we are scratching our heads and wondering why in the hell isn't this working. You've really explained it well and i'll be sharing this with them tomorrow.

Thank you sir for your explanation. I’m working in a warehouse for the past 13 years, I use pallets jack, forklifts etc aka PIT, I tried to explain to my co-workers how to get pallet into rows of pallet, when you turn the equipment left the back usually goes in the opposite direction, I have a good perspective of how to back the trailer because I know how to use a pallet jack and Power Industrial Truck ( PIT ) when you turn either direction it’ll go the opposite direction. Thanks again great teaching sir

I'm not working on my CDL but I am training to be a yard jockey, I was able to park 3 times with a pub trailer but trying to control the tractor and knowing what tiring the wheel was going to make my trailer do was so frustrating, I couldn't lock down my logic and I got frustrated. I still have hours to train under but, yes you are right on everything. I appreciate this information because I know nothing about backing at all
