Lukas' cheeky eyebrow at Annette is perfect, and his stature and oomph is wonderful for his role. Annette's lines and poise is a little Nela-esque: gorgeous!
Fabulous seeing these rehearsals - getting to see the dancers below principal and first soloist level, then follow their careers. Lovely to spot the individuals, and watch their progress. Annette is a case in point, Mayara another. Thank you, Royal Ballet.
Lukas has also had a strong year, especially down the stretch; not only did he make several notable debuts, he stepped up and did a couple of extra Sugar Plums in The Nutcracker filling in for Reece Clarke and Ryoichi Hirano when they got hurt.
Truly enthralling to see how Lukas has matured as a noble dancer from when we saw him as a totally committed youngster in the film 'Ballet Boys" in 2014
Thank you so much, I just love rehearsal’s. They all look wonderful Must give credit to the pianists as well. They work so hard and are silent performers themselves of Ballet 🩰 themselves- as are all behind the scenes 🩰🩰🩰🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
This is a rehearsal, not the finished output yet (which was mentioned to be later in the run), so there’s time for her to get in character. Let’s not forget how vulnerable it can be for artists to rehearse (and therefore make some mistakes) in public before the actual show, whereas the norm is for us to only see the “final output” :)
They are great dancers. One thing that is disappointing is that the Royal Ballet always gives a fantastic feeling even during rehearsals. Unfortunately, not this time.
Christopher Saunders really does a great job directing rehearsals. He is very knowledgeable, charming, fun, and dedicated.

annette is so beautiful. Grace and Energy, Balance and Long Lines. she is beautiful.
Annette seems to have really come into her own recently, I hope she finally gets the recognition she deserves
Agreed, always a treat to see fellow yanks in the RB like Annette and Meaghan Grace Hinkis get promotions and more prominent roles.

Lukas is so gentile, and such a strong dancer. I love it.
Congratulations to both Annette and Lukas on their well deserved promotions to first soloist (the rank just under principal) today!
I simply love Minkus's music. Music is fantastic, all your dancers too. A joy to watch.

She see seems more concerned about her moves than the character ❤️
