I was doing the same thing for nighttime prefold and hemp but my prefolds are bamboo. I just started removing the hemp and folding the prefold the other direction so I get more layers in the center and so far it has worked well for us 🤞
I like the clotheez large inserts, but they’re pretty thin and I didn’t feel like just adding one gave me much more absorbency. You could maybe do two or three of those and a hemp insert and that might work pretty well, but I definitely prefer the medium prefold and a hemp insert!
@@AshleyReavesFit would you say three stacked together is the same bulky ness as a medium prefold? I’m thinking about using three stacked together for daytime but don’t want the bulkyness of the prefold.
@@momumaw34 I would say it would be pretty close in thickness and absorbency! It’s been a minute since I’ve looked at cost, so you might want to check into that to see what option is cheaper. 😊

For the GMD prefolds, would you recommend the Novice size for newborns? I am a FTM expecting in October and trying to get a good idea of what the best way to cloth is! Your videos are so easy to watch and informative, thank you!
Awe yay! Nora’s Nursery is the best!! Actually, if you purchase the Nora’s Nursery pack on Amazon or their website, you’ll get the 7 diapers plus 7 bamboo microfiber inserts and a wet bag, which is an amazing deal and also gives you everything you’ll technically need. This would be a great starter pack for the newborn stage as they won’t need a ton of absorbency. If you’re wanting to buy prefolds to stuff with, I would go with the medium (red) ones. They’ll be pretty bulky in a newborn diaper, but they’ll get you through to when your child is much larger, which I think is a better investment. 😊
My struggle is how bulky these dang diapers become when I stuff them 🤣 it looks so uncomfortable and idk if my daughter's pants will even fit her. Any suggestions?! I'm new to CD my toddler & preparing for my newborn on the way
@@AshleyReavesFit thank you :) So I'm still picking everything out and haven't fully started her in them. Waiting on some diapers/inserts in the mail. But I plan to do pockets and covers and I bought all my own inserts. Bamboo, hemp, cotton. Plan to stuff them with that for now. I have some prefolds too. I like that route just super bulky. But for naps and bedtime I plan to stuff a good amount because she fills her diaper a lot. It's all a learning curve that's forsure
I would do the prefold cotton and 2 hemp inserts for overnight. It’ll be a tad bulky, but should get the job done 👍🏻 Just make sure there are no gaps by the legs 😊
