@@rebeccabracken4553 they’re lovable machines no doubt. There are numerous online sellers that can provide an owner’s manual. The Kenmore numbering system helps keep things available and orderly. Just search : “Kenmore sewing machine owners manual for sale”, the sellers will pop up. Easy peasy. 😎👍
I have a slightly different model Kenmore 158 that I wouldn't take anything for. Heavy as heck, but still going strong, and your videos have helped me keep it in tip top shape. Thank you. ❤️
I purchased a 158.19470 for under $50.00. It was just the machine , no accessories, and manual. I still feel I got a bargain. Thank you for your videos.
That’s a super bargain on an awesome machine. I encourage folks to try and find these perfect machines, and not just run to Amazon or Walmart and settle for the nonsense that they’re selling. I appreciate you reinforcing that it certainly can be done successfully.
Help!!! lol. I was recently gifted a kenmore 158.19460… there’s a screw missing, and I have no idea what size ore where to find it lol… there are two on the face plate, then on the bottom right corner just off of the face plate is a missing screw. Any help would be appreciated
I’m not sure what you’re referring to when you say face plate. Needle plate? Side cover? Top cover? Bottom cover? There are two screws that keep the bottom cover in place. To the immediate right of that is a screw that is on the left of the square metal plate. That one is usually missing when an impatient mechanic breaks off the plastic tab that it screws into. I wouldn’t worry about it, if that the one you’re missing.
I think those are rated at .8 amps. I could be off by a factor of .1 or .2. When I get a chance later I’ll find one and read what’s on the motor info plate.
BUY IT, YES! Four hundred is a bargain. If you pay $300 for plastic crap, within a year you'll be spending over a hundred on repairs. IT'S A BARGAIN, FOLKS.
I LOVE my Kenmore. It was my High School Graduation gift from my mother. WIsh I still had my manuel.

Do you know what is the amps on the motor of the 158.19470?

I don’t have the 19470 in inventory right now, but I checked several similar models and all their motors are rated at 1 amp. I hope that helps.😎
